Following the leak earlier this morning, Microsoft has officially announced all four Xbox Games with Gold for April 2020. As always, these games are available to download for free for Xbox Live Gold members (including subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate). If you've yet to download Batman: The Enemy Within – The Complete Season (Episodes 1-5) and Sonic Generations, today is your last day to do so. You'll find the full list of April's games with descriptions below.
Xbox One
Project Cars 2 (April 1 - 30): Project Cars 2 released for Xbox One back in September 2017, and is still considered one of the best racing games on the platform. Here's what the game's description says about it:
Project CARS 2 is the thrill of intense racing action in beautiful cars at stunning venues. Authentic and intuitive handling, truly dynamic weather, and a wealth of game modes delivers racing fun for everyone.
Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle (April 16 - May 15): This bundle includes the two previously released Knights of Pen and Paper games on Xbox One. Here's what the game's description says about it:
"Take on the roles of in-game players taking on the roles of their characters in a traditional pen and paper RPG session in the ultimate meta roleplaying experience. "
You can download both games from the following links over at the Microsoft Store:
- Project CARS 2 (April 1 - April 30)
- Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle (April 16 - May 15)
Xbox 360
Fable Anniversary (April 1 - 15): The first Xbox 360 game included with April's selection is the superb Fable Anniversary, (great timing considering our massive 'making-of' feature released yesterday!) which, as always, is backwards compatible on Xbox One. It's a 2014 remaster of the original Fable, and is described as follows:
Fable Anniversary is a spectacular HD remaster of the original Fable with all-new models, textures, lighting, achievements, The Lost Chapters content, and more!
Toybox Turbos (April 16 - 30): The other Xbox 360 game this month is Toybox Turbos, which is a superb Micro Machines style racer from Codemasters. Here's what the game's description says about it:
Codemasters reboots the classic table top racing experience in Toybox Turbos! Collect & customise 35 vehicles, take on 18 crazy tracks & send your rivals into a spin with awesome power-ups, including mines, machine guns & giant car-mounted hammers!
You can download both games from the following links over at the Microsoft Store:
- Fable Anniversary (April 1 - April 15)
- Toybox Turbos (April 16 - April 30)

Just my two cents - if you like Micro Machines, don't sleep on Toybox Turbos. I got it very cheap for PC about a year ago, and it's really good fun with friends (online or offline).
oh, Fable looks interesting. I've seen it on gamepass a couple of times but never tried it out.
@ThePrettySenshi it was a pretty good game for it's day, i wouldn't say it's aged great though at least not the original, the HD remaster is a bit better though
Project Cars 2 and Toybox Turbos I will download to try out... I have the Project Cars 2 demo but am actually yet to play it, might as well delete it and download the full game...
@FraserG Agree Toybox Turbos is a gem of a game it reminds me so much of the old Micro Machine game I use to play on NES and Genesis. It pretty much is Micro Machines without the licensing.
I can't say I am overly looking forward to any of this month's releases - I will add PC2 and Fable but I would rather play Forza Motorsport 7 and played the original Fable. The other 2 don't interest me at all although I can see Toybox Turbos being fun if you like that sort of thing...
I think I’m most excited about trying Toybox Turbo..
@FullbringIchigo
It hasn't aged well? :/
I haven't played any western rpg games. I hope it's still fun. At least it's free.
