Welcome to the weekend and Happy Valentines Day for Sunday if you're celebrating it! There's plenty to enjoy on Xbox over the next couple of days including a new batch of Xbox Game Pass titles, three more Free Play Days inclusions, and don't forget the absolutely massive Xbox Lunar New Year 2021 sale!
Here's what we're playing over the next couple of days:

I've spent a fair bit of this week finally jumping into Watch Dogs: Legion, and I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it so far! I've never really been invested in the series, but it looks so good on Xbox Series X, and the world is so brilliantly realised that I can look past some of the clunky gameplay and mission structure elements.
When I'm not playing Watch Dogs, I'm probably going to be back on my Xbox 360 kick. I picked up a used copy of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa this week - probably my favourite FIFA game of all time - and it's still a ton of fun, even all these years later. Plus, the incredible Burnout 3: Takedown continues to dominate my time.
Have a good weekend, folks!

As with every week, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is consuming my time. Honestly, I’m having such a blast staying up late as I blast my way through its multiplayers - I’m pretty good! There’s something glorious about riding your way around Sandtrap and reliving the glory days of Halo 3 multiplayer that will never get out old.
Outside of that, the recent Mass Effect Legendary Edition announcement has got me wanting to dive back into the series one way or another. So I’m checking out Mass Effect Andromeda again. I’ve always defended the game (despite its questionable facial animations). Its combat is extremely punchy and chaotic, and it's still visually stunning today. I haven’t played it since it originally launched, so I’m curious to see what, if any, improvements have been made.
I’ve promised my partner we’ll play some kart racers on Valentine’s Day, too. So expect some loving competition as we battle it out on Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2. Have a great weekend, folks!

Last weekend, as you might recall, I was revisiting Dead or Alive 3 on the original Xbox. Since then, I've moved onto Dead or Alive 6 on the Xbox Series X. At the moment, I'm just playing the free-to-play version while I wait for my new full copy of the game to arrive in the mail. I had not really given the latest entry a chance until now and I'm not sure why. It's got a great sense of flow about it. About the only downside is how restrictive the free-to-play version seems to be - with very few playable fighters and costumes on offer.
Apart from this, it'll probably be returning to Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Fable II via Xbox Game Pass. I've also been slowly working my way through Hotshot Racing. I wasn't a big fan originally, but it seems to have grown on me over the past few months. I'd highly recommend it now, if you are into any old school arcade racing games.

Hello. This weekend I’ll be very quickly wrapping up what I’ve got left of Little Nightmares before diving into its much-anticipated sequel, a game Daniel certainly seemed to enjoy in his 8/10 review, as well as slowly making more progress in the fantastic Sekiro, a game I’ve beaten already but just had to jump back into when I heard it now runs at a silky smooth 4K/60fps on Series X.
Elsewhere, I’ve also got Jurassic World Evolution downloaded and ready to go from Game Pass. I’ve only actually experienced this one on the Switch thus far and it’s been an absolute blast full of seriously gruesome comedic potential, so I’m definitely looking forward to trying it out with all the graphical bells and whistles set to max.
Have a good weekend whatever you guys are up to or playing and stay safe out there!
Which Xbox games will you be playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments.

13 Sentinels on PS5 today, I’m obsessed with it. If I need a bit of a break I might play Bright Memory, since I just learned that existed last night and grabbed it for $8.
Finished Resident Evil 2 (PS1) and Yakuza: Dead Souls earlier this week, so I'll be playing some new games this weekend as well as continuing my playthrough of Far Cry 3 on 360, which is so much fun. I can't believe it's taken me this long to finally play it. It's such an incredible game!
The new games I'm playing are Ys 8 on Switch, Ori and the Blind Forest on Xbox One and Outlast Whistleblower DLC on PS4. I'm at the final part of Ys 8 right now after having played it for about 50 hours. It's a phenomenal game, although it's been very lengthy compared to previous Ys titles (which were 10-20 hours long). Hopefully I'll finish it up very soon. Ori is another title I started quite some time ago but decided to pick up again now to play along with Game Club. I think the initial difficulty was off-putting to me, but once I got past that I found an incredible Metroidvania with absolutely stunning graphics and lovely music. Highly recommend it if you haven't played it yet! And finally I'm playing through the Whistleblower DLC for Outlast since I never finished that one up. I'm loving the DLC so far (one hour in) and it's been far scarier than the base game. Lots more jump scares than usually, which can be good but also desensitising at the same time. Hoping to finally wrap it up this weekend though since it's so short.
I have a few achievements to mop up in Donut County and will then move onto Gears 5 and maybe a bit of Splatoon
I beat Little Nightmares 2 last night. It was good but the controls were clunky.
Today I will focus on Atelier Ryza 2 on Switch.
Fallout 76. Both Xbox and PC. Addicted.
On my XSX I’m playing Control (UE). I still can’t tear myself away from the excellent Hades on my Switch. On PS4 I’m playing SnowRunner and Sackboy a big adventure. After reading Daniel Hollis’s editorial above, I may give Mass Effect Andromeda a go as I’ve never played it.
UPDATE: Well, I started Mass Effect Andromeda. It’s early days, but first impressions are good (considering what I had heard about the game). It’s pretty impressive graphically too, especially for a game that’s almost 4 years old now. This game could be about to become a surprising time sink for me! Thanks Daniel Hollis, and thanks GamePass 👍
UPDATE 2: Re Hades...I finally escaped! My first successful attempt (only took me 45 runs! 🙄)
I've finished The Medium last week. Boy, did you guys drop the ball on this one in terms of the review (it's easily at least an 8/10). Great game, albeit good for one playthrough.
Now I'm switching between Resident Evil 3 Remake (like it so far) and Battlefield 5 multiplayer (great stuff). Happy gaming guys and gals!
Gears Tactics again, which is also never on the poll.
MediEvil on PS4 😃
Really enjoying my time with Ori and the blind forest. I think I'm near the end so I'll see if I get to finish it up this weekend. Then i have Jedi Fallen Order in the go and just recently started Halo so decisions decisions. Plus i will give witcher 3 a go on xcloud for the weekly quest of 12 kills.
I'll be playing Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.. This game is absolutely amazing, I've never felt this way about a game in years..
Just completed Little Nightmares 2. Thought last level outstayed its welcome, and died a few too many times as clunky controls/hard to judge depth on platforming; but overall a really good game with some amazing art-direction.
Shall be hitting WatchDogs next.
Mafia Definitive Edition. Loving it so far.
Stardew Valley (Series X) — Checking out Splitscreen co-op this weekend with my son. We both have been waiting for this for a long time.
Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection (Switch) — Finally got my copy from LRG yesterday. Playing this has brought back so many memories from hanging out in the Arcades in the mid 90s.
Madden 20 (Series X) — Looking to sneak in a few games this weekend will be starting year 2 of Face of the Franchise.
CoD Black Ops: Cold War (Series X) — Double Weapon XP weekend!!
Halo: Spartan Assault (Windows Phone) - Stuck on the final mission on Hard difficulty.
Angry Birds Stella (Windows Phone) - I usually get burned out on Angry Birds games, but I'm enjoying this slightly better then the main games.
Orbital (Windows Phone) - Finally finished this late last night.
@Bowser89
What are your thoughts on the game mechanics like shooting? I'm thinking of buying the entire trilogy, but I read somewhere that the 1st game looks great but plays like the original.
Immortals Fenyx Rising on XSX
I'm playing Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury! I haven't played a Mario game since Super Mario World on the SNES (unless you count Mario Kart 64) and I'm in love with this game. I'm 30-years-old, and this game has brought out my inner-child again. I've been grinning ear to ear the entire time playing it. Aside from that, I'll be playing LoZ: A Link Between Worlds and Control Ultimate Edition on my Series X.
Built (put together) a desk for my PC and I'm downloading some old games from Steam, such as GTA Vice City, Shadows of the Empire and Rogue Squadron. Vice City looks nice the the 60fps and widescreen mods plus some modern controls. Also looking into the PC Silent Hill 2 fan fix which restores the PS2 originals visuals. Back on Xbox its a bit more AC Valhalla
@gollumb82 I like it, I think I played some of the original but honestly can't remember. Im just enjoying the story and the 1930's atmosphere. The gunplay so far isnt bad. There's a good cover system which I like.
Been playing some Assassins Creed: Black Flag.
Not sure I'll try to 100% it, there are multi-player achievements I won't even try boosting, and that tends to heavily discourage me from completing single player modes.
Beat Bowser's Fury (pretty cool overall) yesterday before jumping into the Friday night routine of some Sea of Thieves action with friends. Just beat Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz on Vita (meh - played through it finally just to check it off the backlog) earlier today. I'm nearing the end of The Darkness 2 on 360, and more than likely will finish it up later tonight - and yeah, wow, it is much, much better than the first one in literally every way.
I finished up The Medium this past week and it was an interesting experience. Overall I liked the story. I’m not a fan of horror so for me this game was just creepy enough where I refused to play at night for fear of a Maw dream. The setting was beautiful, looked fantastic (except some technical issues towards the end- mainly weird spots in display ). There were maybe 2 collectibles I missed and I was being very thorough so I missed 2 collection achievements but I don’t think I’ll be revisiting it again. I would be interested in a spin-off/ sequel 😁.
I’ll be continuing Maneater - while still fun I’m almost 70% through the story mode and finding it getting pretty repetitive in that the missions are the same in each area.
I think I’m going to start a new game to play alongside Maneater- I’m thinking Carto on Gamepass
Most of my effort is going into Super Mario 3D World this weekend with little bit of the Medium as well.
Hopefully finish up cyberpunk and maybe start saints row 3 remastered
Lost Odyssey and LOVING it!!!!
Got it deals with Gold.
