Just a heads up two big games might be leaving around February 10th (?)
And if youre in this game like me. also leaving soon Two-point Hospital added February 25th 2020
Is it just me or should MS give us a heads up which games are leaving Game Pass way sooner than they are? I was pondering giving FFXV a go, but there's no way I'm going to finish it before it leaves. Oh well.
@gollumb82
Dude you have two weeks... Or forget microsoft pay attention to people like me who sometimes list possible leaving soon games that been on the service for 1 year. Or better do your own homework its easy to look up dates on when games might be leaving.
@Gaming365247
Yeah and I have a family and a job. I have like 10-15 hours tops a week for gaming. Sometimes more depending on a variety of factors. I'm not complaining for the sake of it.
Bit rubbish that FFXV is already leaving given that the rest of the series which was supposed to come last year just hasn’t materialised.
@gollumb82 Same exact boat as you regarding FFXV. And the family and job, too. Hopefully, I can at least finish Indivisible during those 2 weeks, since I've already started it.
Typical, FF XV, Gris and Indivisible that were on my list of stuff I wanted to play. Working away from home this week too, so no access until Friday 😔
Might just have enough time to play through FF: can always pick up the other 2 on Switch in a sale or something.
@nessisonett
Final Fantasy XV been on gamepass for almost a year added February 6th 2020. If you haven't played by now you never wanted to play it
@gollumb82
I think the whole thing from a publishers point of view is that they want people to purchase the games if they miss out while on Game Pass. That's why you have that 20% discount.
I always just go by the assumption most deals for games hitting the service are from 6-12 months, so if I'm desperate to play something, I make sure I do so within that time frame.
@gollumb82 Yeah two weeks feels rather short. What you can do for other games is to prioritise playing those that have been on the service the longest. For example, let's take Batman Arkham Knight. The game has probably been on the service for over a year now and will most likely leave soon as well. So even though there's no confirmation that it will leave, you should prioritise it over say Haven or Control, i.e. games that have been recently added. That way you'll minimise the risk of missing out on games that you haven't played yet.
Granted you may not be in the mood to play certain games but what can you do. If you already have plenty to play, then you could always wait on the off chance that the game will return to the service in the future.

Well, in my defense I joined GP in November so I had 2-3 months to get my bearings as to what to play. I will admit that FFXV wasn't high on my to-play list, but still. Hopefully DQ11 stays longer on GP as I think I might finish it over a year or so with the time I have to game.
I enjoyed Gris.. that should be a quick play I think I spent about 6 hours in it. I definitely won’t have time for FF but I might give Sea Salt and Indivisible a try.
@gollumb82 I totally understand because I had the same issue when I started using GP. I've learned to cope with it though, especially when considering that Microsoft is looking to add even more games to the service in the future. No way will I have the time to play all of them, so I just have to sometimes accept that I won't get around to some games before they leave.
But that's why I want Microsoft to acquire more companies simply because the third-party games will then become first-party and therefore stay on the service indefinitely. Games made by Bethesda such as Skyrim, Dishonoured 2, Rage 2 etc. will in other words never leave the service. Hopefully they'll make more huge acquisitions like with ZeniMax.
@Gaming365247 I have played it. I just think it’s a bit crap that FFXV was one of the few Final Fantasy games announced for 2020 that actually came to Game Pass and it’s already being removed.
@LtSarge
I absolutely agree. I need to set up priorities to make the most out of GP. It's difficult, though, if you're like me and love the backward compatibility that Xbox offers I'm currently in the middle of a X360 gaming binge with no end in sight. Makes completing Game Pass games difficult.
Your point about MS acquisitions is my thoughts exactly
@Gaming365247 @nessisonett I’m pretty sure they are making room for another FF game or games. I wouldn’t put it past them for the XIIi trilogy getting announced right after XV leaves. Technically, it’s X enhanced, so it and XV are both “HD” and more modern than the others.
I just started playing ffxv again and I have the disc version. However, my disc drive the other day seemed to be malfunctioning. Luckily I was able to play the game through gamepass, but it looks like that will not work anymore. I guess I have to get that disc drive fixed now.
Played FFXV for a while until I had to catch a fish to feed hungry cat...
@Lajt
Don't know if you've played The Witcher 3, but there is a similar quest that involves finding and bringing a goat home 😎 I guess rpgs always have some funny/unfunny quests- depending on your perspective.
@gollumb82 I remeber it and it was actually funny quest, FFXV feels bland overally, last good game in the series I played was X
@Lajt
Yep, TW3 did have its funny moments. As for Final Fantasy, I have only tried the FF7 Remake demo and FF X Remastered. Loved the former and didn't care for the latter. I guess you can chalk it up to me not being a huge fan of jrpgs.
Don't forget that we can also buy a game that is leaving with a cut price.
I know we already pay for the service, but let's face it : it is so cheap that I don't forbid myself to buy one game or two from time to time.
I don't mind that games leave the service, I've actually played a few games that I never would've considered buying precisely because they were leaving soon, but it would be good to have a bit more notice than 2 weeks.
Is there a way to tell how long a game has been on Gamepass?
@nessisonett Agreed. Also kind of bad considering there was an article (I think) earlier this month talking about more of the Final Fantasy series coming to Game Pass at some point. Wouldn't it make sense to try to have as much of it as possible on the service instead when/if more of it gets added in the future? Game Pass is great, but the fact that they have to drop games in order to add more games to the service is a shame.
@Reverandjames
Thats true but every game you play from GP is a game you don't have to buy. And MS games come day 1 and stay forever.
Even tho I buy games time to time, I still have saved a lot of money because of GP.
BUT I think it's more worth it if one plays more shorter games, opposed of playing 100-200 hours long RPGs.
@Mamabear Indivisible is a bit on medium length side but very good. It feels like an oldschool SNES sidescroll RPG. Great time.
Welp. Need to crank on Yakuza Zero. I own the game on Ps4 butI a further along on xbone.
