I don’t watch IGN performance reviews. The guy who provides them (NX Gamer) is a huge PlayStation fanboy.

I listened to the DF breakdown yesterday and the upgrade sounds disappointing. Will you get higher resolutions? Yes. Better Ray tracing? Yes. Higher framerates? Possibly if the game isn’t hindered by the CPU.

PSSR sounds interesting, moving away from FSR2, which let’s admit is dogshit, can only be good. My takeaway was you’re going to get games looking sharper and less noisy but at much the same frame rates we’re getting now.

They predict this thing will cost around $600/£600 which is less than I expected, but makes sense now I understand what it will be offering.

@HonestHick do you think the Pro will be $600? I think no chance, more like $700 at least.

@HonestHick the hype train will seem big for the PS5 Pro online, in reality I can’t see it selling massive numbers. It’ll be a case of the minority being the loudest like always. The cost to me is the most interesting thing to look at, I do wonder what price point they’re going to sell this at come launch.

@OldGamer999 Personally I won’t be getting one, I’m the opposite of you and find Triple A gaming to be dull at the moment for various reasons. That’s across the spectrum not just Sonys offerings. The graphics will be a bit nicer on a Pro, but gameplay is still going to be the same old stuff we’ve been playing for a decade or more now.

I really don’t think a Pro of any sort is needed. I bought a PS4 pro because that was a jump from 1080p to 4k in some cases. It still feels like this generation hasn’t fully got into the groove and I don’t think the answer is just more power. I see they’re still mentioning 8k with the PS5 pro, lol.

@HonestHick GTA6 will sell best on PS5, Pro or no pro, the pro will not move the needle on which console the game sells best on imo. It’ll just give bragging rights to the niche section of PS5 Pro gamers who buy into the system.

Played it on PS4 and PS5. One of my top 5 games on both systems. Remedy’s best game imo.

Hoping the second improves on the combat and is more exciting than the first.

Halo, Gears, Forza should always stay Xbox exclusive. I’m not optimistic about the future of any of those 3 franchises though, been going downhill for years.

They still need to fix the lip sync, I’ve been waiting for a fix before playing. I’d refund at this point if I could.

I’m shocked by this, quite impressive for an older Xbox title, I’m surprised the demand is there for it to this extent.

Agree with Xbox’s multi-platform strategy or not, they’re going to make way more money. I’ve said this before but PlayStation fans shouldn’t be laughing at Xbox just yet, because once Sony see what money can be made, they’ll follow.

Man this is sad news. DB/DBZ was a huge part of my childhood and I still love it as an adult. He will live on through his work, it’s timeless.

@Romans12 I enjoyed it at first and wouldn’t say it’s a ‘bad’ game. However it’s boring af, repetitive and cringeworthy.

I played remake and as a big fan of the original I hated it. I hated everything about it that was new and changed from the original game, it was ridiculous and added nothing, just convoluted the story even more. The only good thing about that game was the graphics and music so I won’t in a million years play rebirth.

I’ve played Helldivers 2 and it’s fun, it’s a good game, but missing out on it is not the end of the world if you don’t own a PC or PS5. Plenty of other games to enjoy.

Control is one of my top 5 games of the last decade, I love it. This can only be good news.

How come the gaming industry is the only industry consistently under a watchful eye when it comes to working any sort of overtime? Plenty of other, lower paid, less talented people in other industries have to work more hours just to get by and no one bats an eyelid, but my god, if a dev has to work overtime near a games release that’s the worst thing imaginable. Now, my word, they’ve been asked to go back to an office, ludicrous!!

I’d swap with them, I could walk past the John Marston life size statue, sipping on my matcha latte before settling into a hard days work in my hammock under my desk. Awful.

Thank Disney, the Star Wars IP means less now than it ever has. To me this being cancelled shows that EA has no faith in a Star Wars game being successful enough to develop. If they were sure they’d make money from it they’d sure as hell develop it.

@TwoDents i don’t think Stella Blade sales will affect sea of thieves at all, both are aimed at very different demographics. Not saying sea of thieves will succeed or flop but Stella blade makes no difference imo.

Games meant to be good but I’ve watched some videos and it looks like a mess to me, guess it ain’t my kind of thing.

Isn’t it the case on PlayStation too? Digital is outselling physical? It’s just that their user base is so much bigger that physical are still selling at an acceptable level.

I like Gamepass and its value, but there’s no question it’s contributed to physical on Xbox fast becoming history. Uncle Phil can say all he wants about physical games on Xbox but if it doesn’t make financial sense for a disc drive to be in the consoles anymore, they’ll drop it as quickly as possible. The market will also dictate this to some extent but you can’t trust what uncle Phil is saying when it comes to physical media on Xbox.

That’s alot of fallout. To be honest these games are a one and done for me. The only one I’ve not finished is 4 because I couldn’t get into it, if the next gen upgrade looks good I may try again.

@tigersden98 PlayStation players play a sh*t ton of COD, that’s why Sony were filling their trousers at the thought of MS taking it away. It’s a myth that they don’t play multiplayer games.

@InterceptorAlpha yeah exactly and that’s okay, it’s part of the reason they’re dominating the console market. I’ve always been pro exclusives, they’re what define and sell a system and it makes the discourse fun. I’ve always found it bizarre over recent years how fans on all sides seem so anti exclusive at times.

Man this is sad. I get that now Xbox are liberal with their games the community wants it both ways, but starting a petition, that’s just cringe.

I don’t have PlayStation plus right now so I’ve not picked Helldivers up and I think it looks like it’ll get boring fast anyway. I think they released this at the right price point and people are having fun with it so all good. Wonder how it would have performed at £70….

It looks like a fun game, I’ve not bought it because it looks like it’ll get boring fast. I know what Phil is saying but I also understand why it’s not in Xbox, because good exclusives can shift hardware and it’s been working for Sony for decades.

Taking this statement with a huge grain of salt. I think if anything it’ll be related to streaming and using that to compute instead of the just hardware inside the box. Sort of like how g force now attempts to give you 4090 levels of performance. AI is also going to play a huge part going forward.

I can’t complain about these titles going multiplat it does make sense but I do wonder if they toned it back a little after the backlash and uncle Phil has still been a little vague on future releases. We’ll see

I’m glad I didn’t watch, it sounded like a snoozefest. The games they’re releasing make sense. 2 popular live service ones they’ll potentially rake the $$ in with and 2 smaller titles that deserve more exposure.

Let’s see what the future holds but for now it seems Xbox hardware is safe….
