Re: PSA: Today Is The Final Day For Microsoft's Xbox 360 Marketplace

Wilforce

I was going to get some Rockband DLC, but I changed my mind. The 360 was an amazing console and I have great memories with it, but at this point, it’s just a matter of time before my console shuts down for the final time. So I’ll savor the DLC that I have already. Thanks for the memories. Loved those midnight jam sessions in college on my Matte White Xbox 360.

Re: Talking Point: Which Has Been The Most Reliable Xbox Console For You?

Wilforce

For me I had to go with Xbox One as most reliable and Xbox 360 (later version) as least reliable. My day one Xbox 360 lasted through almost the entire generation, and I only traded it to get the Kinect. While I don’t regret that decision, I noticed some games like Call of Duty ran better on the original. Upgrading for Kinect was totally worth it… Dance Central, Nike+ Kinect Fitness, and Sonic Riders were amazing experiences. Stuck with Nike+ for a good year before having to box up the Kinect due to space limitations in my new place.

Re: Poll: Are You Picking Up Capcom's First $70 Game On Release?

Wilforce

The price of games is a problem. It’s not necessarily that the developers don’t deserve more, it’s a matter that there is a lack of consistency in 3rd party titles. It’s a Capcom game, there is a good chance of it being marked down by at least 20% in the first three months.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy A 'Revised' Xbox Series X|S Controller In 2024?

Wilforce

I hope it has the rumored gyroscopic controls. I think devs have taken way too long to integrate motion controls into their games, and I’m not talking like Wii waggling - I mean like CoD:MW3 on PS5 and Warframe on Switch. It’s such a huge advantage on consoles and while not competitive with traditional mouse and keyboard it’s so much more comfortable than strictly joysticks.

Re: Capcom Announces Monster Hunter Wilds, Coming To Xbox Series X|S In 2025

Wilforce

@KillerBoy Monster Hunter World was developed on the MT Framework Engine while subsequent titles will be developed on the RE Engine. We can anticipate graphics to be handled similar to Monster Hunter Rise.

The trailer appears to be a very early build though and doesn’t appear to be intended to showcase graphics rather on-screen content - it showcases a large volume of particle effects, creatures on screen, and dramatic shifts in the landscape. Unfortunately much of the trailer is dark because there’s a massive dust storm, which isn’t conducive to showcasing colorful graphics and lighting effects. I would anticipate future reveals to showcase more diverse terrain and lighting.

Re: Where's Our Starfield Review?

My rule is that if a developer is withholding access then it’s highly overrated and they’re trying to manipulate the system. I’m calling score manipulation.

Re: Poll: Xbox Live Gold Members, Are You Excited For Game Pass Core?

Wilforce

@Sifi Rebranding has a psychological effect that should be taken into consideration and can either help or hurt the business. In my case, the brand Xbox Live holds significance to me due to my engagement with it in late high school and college. The timing is unfortunate because this month I’ve been actively reassessing, which subscription services I want to maintain moving forward. In changing the name, Microsoft has given me a solid reason to add Xbox to my chopping block because the branding will no longer be present and therefore any nostalgic value is inherently lost. My post is a reflection on the subjectively poor timing and significance of branding.

Re: Poll: How High Are Your Expectations For Sunday's Xbox Showcase?

Wilforce

Either my taste in games has changed or we’re in a drought of legitimately good games. The past few months I’ve been rotating between Minecraft, Monster Hunter (World and Rise), Wild Hearts, and Forza Horizon 5. I just added Diablo IV to my rotation, but I haven’t seen any games over the past couple months that are truly “I want that day one” other than maybe Forza Motorsport.

Re: Starship Troopers: Extermination Dev 'Aware Of The Demand' For Xbox Version

Wilforce

I’m kind of surprised this wasn’t developed with crossplay and console releases pre-planned. This seems like the type of game that would greatly benefit from the additional accessibility. Why end at 16-players though? By my count there are 1-million bugs for every trooper. They should totally expand to 64 player survival… make it the largest survival defense game around with bugs swarming. Total mayhem.

Re: Poll: Do You Think The Xbox ActiBlizz Deal Will Still Go Ahead?

Wilforce

I think we have a chance that MS and Activision will ignore the CMA and merge anyways then leave the UK market. It used to be the best market for both companies to cross the Atlantic to all Europe because of the English language and easy communication, but that gateway into the EU is dead following Brexit. I’ll sit here with my popcorn and enjoy the fireworks as people jump ship to EU accounts.
