A few months ago, it was announced that the superb Forza Horizon 4 would be getting delisted across Xbox and PC this December, similar to what happened with Forza Horizon 2 and 3 along with the old Forza Motorsport games.
Since then, the game has been discounted on a couple of occasions - including right now as part of the Xbox End of Summer Sale. Here's what the prices look like as things stand on the Xbox Store for each version:
- Forza Horizon 4 Standard Edition - £10.99 / $11.99
- Forza Horizon 4 Deluxe Edition - £13.99 / $15.99
- Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition - £16.99 / $19.99
So, the question is, are you buying it? We'd argue that if you do want to grab FH4 permanently, the Ultimate Edition is worth paying the extra money for - both the expansions are cool, and there's some decent extra content too.
Then again, perhaps you've had your fix of Forza Horizon 4 by now? Maybe you prefer Forza Horizon 5? Or did you buy FH4 when it was new instead? We're interested in hearing from you down below, and be sure to vote in the polls!

Already did, maybe it's just me but I liked Forza 4 more than Forza 5 , F5 it just feels so flat and nothing interesting about it. I kind of like F4 since it's in Europe.
Brilliant game and free with a voucher that Microsoft kindly sent for buying the expansions. For me, this is the best racer on Xbox.
Forza 4 is my favorite in the series, first racing game that I played for more then 15 mins since Crusin on the N64z
Even if it were my type of game isn’t it kind of outdated? It’s like buying a previous year madden if it were getting delisted or something…
In theory, I shouldn't have to I bought the DLC, I should be entitled to a free code but so far nothing.
Yes bought Ultimate on PC for a few £££ with a personalised offer. Amazing game.
I bought it on pc so I can replay it on steam deck. I honestly like it a bit more than 5
Already had the physical for xbox but picked up the ultimate edition on steam a few weeks ago when it was on sale.

@jesse_dylan Not really. Each game in the series has a different setting and features. The only reason they get delisted is because the car companies (and music artists) only let them sell the game for so many years before they have to pull it or spend a lot resecuring the rights.
Already have it and Lego dlc.
Best FH for me as UK based and like the typical UK seasons.
Xbox needs more top end critically acclaimed AAA games like this one across all game types.
@abe_hikura I see. That makes sense. I've thought for a long time that using licensed music in games is really stupid, for this reason and others (also so many artists that would be happy to write music specifically for a game); hard to help it with cars, though, unless they just make up cars instead of licensing them (also an option, but I realize people like licensed cars a lot)
Will probably grab the Standard Edition mainly for my mom. She liked 5, I'm guessing she's gonna like 4 too.
I got a code for it as I already had the dlc. Not played it in a while but it's nice to have in the library for a rainy day
@Lup I've got 4 and 5. 5's hotwheels tracks are fun but not challenging. 4 has a lot of content overall but also if you live in the UK + the seasons it's quite fun. Even if you don't live in the UK it has more personality. I enjoyed both however, I played 5 before 4 and I kinda like both together. If you can afford it, just buy 4 anyway just for the fun of it, or even try it on gamepass
@kingtoten I feel the same. Forza 5 should have had a bigger city in it. I got tired off the desert real quick.
@pepsilover2008 how does it play on deck??? Not verified?
@x3King84 You could always check
" ProtonDB" for Deck compatibility, it's pretty good resource
I've not played it in Deck but I've seen plenty of folks mention it runs great.
Bought it a few months ago when they announced it. Loved Horizon 2 and 3 and heard nothing but good things about this one.
Bought it a few weeks ago. Tried looking inside car when viewing cars. Crash to dashboard every time on Series S. Uninstalled it because it annoyed me. Have they fixed it yet?
I'm still waiting for my code that I should be eligible for.
Well I probably will but actually I am still waiting for my free voucher as I’ve bought the ultimate expansion , played it through gamepass and downloaded all of the DLC that was available but until this day there is no voucher to be seen.
Oh , I see that I am not the only one still waiting …
@jesse_dylan
One aspect that you have to consider the update and support both FH 4 and 5 received for years. Different racing modes, stories, and weekly playlists were added for every week for a couple of years. Compare that with NFS Heat which barely received an update or never had a dedicated mp lobby for players who want to race against other people.
I bought the standard edition bundle that came with the LEGO DLC about 5 years ago. Recently bought the Fortune Island DLC for cheap off a key site.
I’m planning on restarting the game this fall/winter to play through it all again with the DLC expansions… I just wish there was a way to restart the game without losing my cars 🫠
All that said, it’s an incredible game and worth picking up when on sale. It’s not my favorite in the series, but it’s a damn good open world racer.
I bought it a long time ago and I still prefer this to FH5, I made sure to get FH3 too back when it was available
I'll be getting it. The racing is just as good as 5 and I prefer the setting (like lots of people it seems). Not quite as in your face with all the pretend social media stuff as 5 as well.
@Savage_Joe There, uh…there won’t be a PS5 version because they won’t be able to sell 4 anymore…
Bought my XBOX Series X in March 2021, Forza 4 was my first installation after buying my Ultimate membership pass hack for $1, installed the game played it for about 3 hours and then bought Forza Horizon Ultimate Version, Loved the music, missed the opportunity to get Ultimate 3, people say it was also good.
I Have 5 Ultimate and it doesn't have the same interest for me.
I can remember how back in 2011 or so, I was at a friend’s house after school one day, and they were playing one of the Forza Motorsport games on the Xbox 360, and listening to music on the Xbox at the same time. As I had only had a Wii and Nintendo DS/3DS, this blew my 12-year-old mind.
Fear forward a few years to around 2015 or 2016, and I was at GameStop for I don’t even know what. I specifically recall, however, that there was an Xbox demo station with some Forza game (that I now know was one of the Horizon games), which I played a bit of and was once again blown away by.
Around half-a-decade later, in 2021, I decide to finally ask my dad for an Xbox for, I think, my birthday or something. My justification? That racing game from the GameStop demo in 2015 or so. So, in the end, Forza Horizon is what brought me to the Xbox*, and a few weeks later, I finally tried Halo for the first time in my life, and of course I was blown away.
*I also remember a demo for Super Lucky’s Tale, which is a game my mom and I have both enjoyed many times over in the time since.
Maybe if I wait right up until the last month I'll get an even bigger discount. Yes I pennypinch everything in my life.
Of all the Forza Horizon games this one is my least favorite. I found the terrain generally uninspiring. I guess I’m one of the few here to feel that way, but I’m glad so many people enjoyed it.
@Savage_Joe Given the rumor that Horizon 5 might be coming to PS5, your sarcasm was not sarcasm-y enough!
@x3King84 it works well. The only reason it seems to be labeled playable on steam and not verified is it needs to pull up the keyboard to sign into Xbox accounts.
@pepsilover2008 thanks. I’ve got it on Xbox app but I’d prefer Steam.
I bought it yesterday
Forza Series (H & MS) I bought on release without a doubt. It always delivered after 3-6 months when it had problems at launch. Got burned on FM2023 though. FH Series is miles ahead and looking forward to the new game mode but my enthusiasm is a bit tempered tbh.
Already had it, it's installed but have yet to play it. Played a bit of 5 though
I just bought the Ultimate Edition, today. I figured since it'll be gone forever and I have the MS points I'd just go ahead and buy it.
Up to € 20 for a 6 year old game isn’t that cheap?
I recently bought the ultimate edition after playing and enjoying the demo. It's definitely pretty fun and has an incredible visual presentation, but I need some more carrots to continue playing it after about 10 hours. I already have some of the best cars in the game and the races all feel same-y. What's the point?
I might snag it on Steam if it goes on sale again for a properly steep price.
Never played one of these games, and am not a racing sim fan, so I'm not sure how I'll feel about it.
Seems insane to me they keep getting delisted.
Owned it since it launched and I got it on Steam as well for my Steam Deck.
I played it on Game Pass, but weren't players supposed to get free codes before it's delisted? What's happing about that as I haven't gotten anything??
I had it on physical on the Xbox one, but sold it when I got PS5 in 2022. I bought Series X back in May and got the ultimate edition a couple of weeks after they messaged me saying I could buy it for £8.50 because I'd previously bought DLC for it. They did the same with Forza 7
