It'd be nice to have the option to play Game Pass titles - either streaming or natively - on Switch, but as others have mentioned, it'd be a licencing nightmare. If it ever made financial sense for Nintendo, I could see them going for it, but their business is the healthiest it's been in years, so for the foreseeable it's unlikely to happen.

Any and all interest I had in this game has dissipated completely over the past few days, and I wasn't itching to get my hands on it in the first place. It's one of those games I planned to play (reviews pending) at some point yet for some reason - and certainly not consciously - managed to see or read practically nothing about prior to release.

If the Series X version turns out alright, I'll be more inclined to play it, but as it stands I'm really glad it wasn't something I was consciously looking forward to. It always sucks when you wait years for a game/film/show/comic/whatever you're really pumped about and it doesn't turn out well

I've had 40-odd quid burning a hole in my digital pocket for months, so hopefully there's something that catches my eye when the sale starts.

@PJOReilly that is absolutely besides the point. The review is of the product, not the team who made it. If a car was riddled with faults and stuff that didn't work, you wouldn't say "sure, the car is criminally unsafe and might kill you, but people worked really hard and on it and maybe they'll release a better version later", surely?

I feel like "score pending" is giving CDPR a free pass. They were willing to take pre-orders for and release Cyberpunk 2077 in its current state; you should be willing to review and score it in that same state.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Cross-gen releases are all well and good, but not if it's to the detriment of the game. I know the idea is to cater to the bigger install bases of the last-gen consoles, but big games like Halo Infinite and Cyberpunk 2077? Those games would sell well in the long run once the Series X|S and PlayStation 5 are more readily available.

@Medic_Alert it's all but said in the quotes. No loot boxes is great, but that doesn't mean the customisation won't be monetised. For example: last time I played Fortnite (well over a year ago) there were no loot boxes, but that game is still heavily monetised. No loot boxes just means you'll know in advance what you're paying through the nose for.

This would be useful if it also took any of the many, MANY other reasons for a slow download speed into account... which I doubt it does.

I don't download games while the console is on anyway; I set it to download then leave the console in rest mode and check it later. It always seems to complete quicker that way. Probably a textbook example of "a watched kettle never boils", but whatever works, right?

Forza Horizon 4, the game that keeps on giving.

@aduvky84 that's the exact same thought I had. I'd assumed the appeal of the original release was messing around with mates in VR.

Quantum Break. A lot of people sh*t on that game but I really enjoyed it.

I'll give Haven and Yes, Your Grace a shot. I'm assuming the version of Control on Game Pass isn't the Ultimate Edition that's getting an X|S upgrade? If not, I'll wait until the Ultimate Edition patch is out.

It's brilliant. I'm not a huge fan of the genre (I dabble but rarely finish them) and I loved Dragon Quest XI. Anyone who has even a modicum of interest in JRPG's should check it out.

I haven't bought anything. Nothing jumped out at me, or at least nothing cheap enough that I actually wanted.

Take your time and make the best game you can. I'd rather wait longer for a great game than get a worse game right away.

@Bmartin001 it's a banger. Played it on Switch and it's one of only a few JRPG's I've bothered to play through to completion.

Also, I really hope Immortals is good. It looks absolutely stunning.

Thinking about it, isn't it more likely that Motorsport arrives before Horizon 5? Look at it like this: Microsoft bothered to optimise Forza Horizon 4 for Series X|S, but didn't do the same for Forza Motorsport 7, which says to me that Microsoft plans for Horizon 4 to be around for a while yet, and the new Forza Motorsport will arrive sooner rather than later.

@KelticDevil absolutely true. Even as someone who has never even been behind the wheel of a car, I think that Forza Motorsport is, in my opinion, unparalleled in the sim racing genre and, while I do prefer Horizon on the whole, I wouldn't want Motorsport to go away.

If/when it arrives, I'm there. I also wonder what kinda mad DLC it'll get, if any. Horizon 3 got Hot Wheels, Horizon 4 got LEGO...

If Horizon 5 sticks with the toy theme and gets some sort of Micro Machines DLC, I'll lose my sh*t.

I loved playing MechAssault 2 online on the OG Xbox, so I'll definitely be giving MechWarrior 5 a go.

@phoenix1 To be honest, you shouldn't be, because in my opinion anyone who owns an Xbox and possesses even a lick of sense should have Game Pass, which renders the Games With Gold offerings completely irrelevant. I'd be no worse off and wouldn't lose sleep if GWG disappeared altogether.

I want to echo everything said here regarding Titanfall 2. That multiplayer is what I believe the kids refer to as "chef's kiss".

Blood Stone all the way. It was essentially a James Bond flavoured Splinter Cell: Conviction and thus awesome.

Mmmmmm, Hitman 3! Can't bloody wait. I hope IO lets players import the Hitman 1 and 2 content into Hitman 3; it'd be nice to have every map available through the same executable.

Dark Souls III for me. The framerate was a bit all over the place on an OG Xbox One, but it's a rock solid 30fps on Series X with no stuttering or slowdown. 60fps would be nice, but I imagine that would require extra work on Microsoft or From Software's part.

As long as it's not as disastrously buggy as Amalur Re-Reckoning, I'm well up for this. Also, THQ Nordic: please, please, PLEASE include either the original map editor or an updated one.

You could get a ballpark figure for sales from that statistic. If it were 70% of just existing Game Pass users, that would mean Xbox Series X|S sold approximately 10.5 million units. Obviously there's some discrepancy because it's existing and new subscribers, but make of that what you will.

@themightyant yeah, that fixed it for me as well. To be honest, until Quick Resume is fixed, I'm perfectly happy not using it. Everything loads so quickly that personally I'll live without it for the time being.

Quick resume worked for me on Horizon 4 yesterday evening but the game was stuttering periodically and after about 10 minutes booted me to the dashboard. It loads so quickly though, even from scratch!!!

@JetmanUK Last one I played was WWE 2K... 19, I think? Whichever one had AJ Styles on the cover. It was pretty dire, anyway. The last one I really enjoyed was WWE All-Stars on Xbox 360, which this AEW game looks really similar to.

@JetmanUK my wife and I used to watch TNA religiously, but it lost something when WWE started throwing money around and poaching all their talent.

I hope this AEW game is good. It's about time a competitor came in and forced 2K to step up their game.

@Kopite as cool as that would be, I imagine very little will change at Codemasters. F1 (and maybe DiRT and DiRT Rally) will probably be rebranded under the 2K Sports banner and we'll probably see more miscrotransactions.

I've been playing a load of Jurassic World: Evolution again recently, so was interested in Planet Coaster. Damn, I love Game Pass.
