Update (Sat 2nd Oct, 2021): With No Time To Die releasing in cinemas this week, we wanted to bring back this Pick One James Bond feature from last year! However, we've also added a new poll specifically for Daniel Craig games below.
Original story (Sat 21st Nov, 2020): It's time for another round of Pick One! This week, to mark the announcement that IO Interactive is working on a brand-new James Bond game (!), we thought we'd look back at the history of James Bond games on Xbox.
There have been nine games in total, spanning an eleven-year period from 2001 to 2012, with the most recent being the Xbox 360 game, 007 Legends. But which is your favourite? Remember, you can only pick one!
Let's take a look at what we're working with:
James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire (2001)
As Bond, players must defeat the evil criminal mastermind Artaud Malprave, head of a rising terrorist organization called CIPHER, who is bent on ruling the world with his clone technology and army of clones. Helping Bond along the way is the gorgeous Zoe Nightshade and omnipresent master of gadgets himself, R. Each of the more than 10 exotic locations around the world contains a generous offering of challenging missions and objectives.
James Bond 007: Nightfire (2002)
The ultimate secret agent is back in his most dangerous adventure yet in James Bond 007 Nightfire. Explore new heights and depths like never before-infiltrate towering skyscrapers, take on treacherous underwater missions, and maneuver your sleek Aston Martin V12 Vanquish through the streets of Tokyo while turning on the Bond charm with glamorous (and sometimes deadly) Bond women.
James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (2004)
In James Bond 007 Everything or Nothing, the original script from veteran Bond screenwriter Bruce Feirstein immerses the player in the world of James Bond, all set in a third-person view that showcases a Hollywood cast that includes Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, Dame Judi Dench, Willem Dafoe, John Cleese, Richard “Jaws” Kiel, Heidi Klum, Mya, and Shannon Elizabeth playing out a real-time cinematic action adventure.
GoldenEye: Rogue Agent (2004)
As an aspiring 00 agent dismissed from MI6 for reckless brutality, you're recruited by Auric Goldfinger in a ruthless war against Dr. No for control of the Bond underworld. A brutal encounter with Dr. No costs you an eye, but Goldfinger's technicians replace it with a gold-hued, synthetic eye, earning you the name 'GoldenEye'. With the ability to customize and upgrade your villain persona, wreak havoc as you make your unrelenting rise through the ranks.
James Bond 007: From Russia With Love (2005)
From Russia With Love is the first game to put players in the universe of the classic James Bond film. Set in the original 60s Bond era, the game features movie-based missions as well as original, action-intensive sequences, a broad and deep variety of gameplay, fully-integrated vehicles, social multiplayer experiences, gorgeous women, and classic, upgradeable weapons and gadgetry with modern mechanics.
007: Quantum Of Solace (2008)
James Bond is back to settle the score in Quantum of Solace: The Game. Introducing a more lethal and cunningly efficient Bond, the game blends intense first-person action with a unique third-person cover combat system that allows players to truly feel what it is like to be the ultimate secret agent as they use their stealth, precision shooting and lethal combat skills to progress through missions.
James Bond 007: Blood Stone (2010)
James Bond 007: Blood Stone features the likeness and voice talent of Daniel Craig, Joss Stone and Judi Dench and features an epic, original story developed by legendary screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. Players can engage in cover-based firefights, lethal hand-to-hand combat and speed their way through explosive adrenaline-fuelled driving sequences as they embark on a global chase leading to action on land and sea through Athens, Istanbul, Monaco and Bangkok.
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded (2011)
GoldenEye 007 allows players to channel Daniel Craig's lethal and gritty James Bond in an innovative, modern take on the legendary Bond adventure, GoldenEye. Blending fast-paced first-person shooter (FPS) action with covert gameplay, GoldenEye 007 epitomizes the modern "thinking man's shooter" by offering varied ways to complete each mission, destructible environments, the use of cover...
007 Legends (2012)

Played a lot of Nightfire on PS2 back in the day
Goldeneye 007: Reloaded brings back some excellent multiplayer memories for me
Nightfire for me because it’s the only one I really played
Everything Or Nothing wins for me.
Honourable mention goes to Blood Stone, though. A basic blaster at best, but nevertheless a fun one which was sadly sent out to die by Activision. Given another year in development it might have been something special.
GoldenEye: Reloaded isn't half bad too, considering it's origins as a Wii game, which itself wasn't too shabby either.
I've only played the N64 Goldeneye but I'm pretty sure that one is better than all of these anyways. Such an amazing game. The split screen PvP was fantastic with them proximity mines.
N64 goldeneye has my vote
Is they an option for "none of the above, they're all terrible?"
Blood Stone all the way. It was essentially a James Bond flavoured Splinter Cell: Conviction and thus awesome.
I'll be honest, I had NO idea there were this many James Bond games?! 🤔
Did we skip n64 goldeneye because this is the Xbox site? I’ve played a few of the others on this list, but the original was the best.
@NEStalgia
I agree. GoldenEye on the N64 was the best Bond game ever. And it’s not even close.
Only James Bond game I have played was The World Is Not Enough for PS1. I don't even remember if it was any good. Probably not.
Out of that list, probably Agent Under Fire, that and Nightfire were basically of the same series and they were probably the best Bond games outside of the N64 Goldeneye. Outside of that From Russia With Love stands out to me simply for how cool it was for them to bring back the classic original Bond.
@Luigi_Skywalker Yep, the list is just for Xbox games.
@FraserG
In that case, I picked “Agent Under Fire”. 👍🏻
Also, well done making it Xbox only. It makes it way more interesting that way.
Goldeneye on N64, I know it didn't age well but that game was revolutionary for it's time
Multiplayer nightfire on the gamecube! Everyone playing as snowguard! F#*k yeah!
Goldeneye for the N64, baby!
@Luigi_Skywalker you know, there were James Bond games before GoldenEye on N64...
Any chance these games will be re-released onto a modern console?
I enjoyed Quantum of Solace on PC, but my all time fav is still Goldeneye on the n64.
Nightfire and Goldeneye on Wii were both brilliant imo. The local multiplayer was immense.
I voted Goldeneye Reloaded. Didn't play it on Xbox but on Wii and it was very solid. Good multiplayer too. Obviously the best game was N64 Goldeneye but that wasn't on Xbox. I definitely enjoyed Nightfire, Everything or Nothing, From Russia with Love and Quantum of Solace too. They weren't as bad as people tended to make them out to be. Goldeneye Rogue Agent however... That was one god awful game.
Have a ton of great memories playing Nightfire.
Lol my all time favorite is still Goldeneye N64. Gave birth to beautifull multiplayer madness lol
@VenomousAlbino I did not know there were Bond games before Golden Eye on N64. I know one came out after.
@FraserG I’m going with “From Russia with Love” then. Gotta love classic Sean Connery (R.I.P.). I grew up watching all of the Bond films with my Dad who got into the books in the 60s when he was in the Marines. I am excited for a new 007 game while I wait for “No Time to Die”.
From Russia with love.
I remember liking it.
I don't remember playing any other bond game on a xbox.
Of course goldeneye on the N64, but that's obviously not Xbox haha
Some corkers there. Genuinely like them all. I feel you could still have bigger and more epic Bond game than we have had but there is plenty of Bond goodness on this list.
N64 Goldeneye was revolutionary
No option for never played any...
Goldeneye was a great game for its time but there are some seriously rose-colored glasses up in here
There's a reason Goldeneye 64 isn't an option lol! Wouldn't be much of a poll. The title should "best of the rest".
Most are really pretty terrible. I've played the majority but I can't remember too much of any of them. Goldeneye is still the GOAT for 007, but I can remember Quantum playing pretty decent. I'm sure it was made by the call of duty team.
I can understand why you missed off GoldenEye. It’s a much better Bond game than anything since but it was massively surpassed by Perfect Dark which is still the greatest FPS ever made (I’ll hear arguments against though)
So I voted for Everything or Nothing. It was a pretty decent game elevated by EA’s Hollywood production values. They even had a Bond Theme composed!
In terms of great memories it would have to be a tie between Nightfire and goldeneye 007 for it's fun split screen.
N64 Goldeneye , like many before me, best James Bond game ever made, certainly in my top 10 best games overall ever made, nothing in this list comes even close....
Goldeneye 007 is my favorite and it's not even on the list
