Re: Rumour: Xbox Exclusive Hi-Fi RUSH 'Didn't Make The Money It Needed To Make'

UltimateOtaku91

I still don't get how developers especially Microsofts 1st party ones work out how much they are bringing in off gamepass. Take Bethesda for example who are owned by Microsoft, how much do they get for putting their games on gamepass, do Microsoft class Bethesda as seperate company and pay them separately? As Hi fi Rush is listed as a Bethesda title on metacritic and are a seperate publisher to Microsoft on there still. If so then maybe Microsoft have to pay Bethesda a certain amount due to how many players have played the game on gamepass, and it didn't meet expectations and didn't get the money back they were hoping for. It's all very confusing.

@Belkan Where you getting Hi-Fi Rush outsold Forspoken?

Forspoken outsold Hi-Fi rush and bought in more revenue, but I admit that that's to be expected as it wasn't included in a subscription service. It may of failed to achieve sales expectations but I bet it still broke even on its development costs.

@Stamnoso I've only played around 8 hours so far but it's been good, I don't know if you've ever played any rune factory games buts it's very similar to those, but less of a focus on social interaction and has more jrpg elements. Farming in this game is also quicker especially as you don't need to keep refilling up on water so the farming aspect goes quite quick but you can focus on it to bring in a lot of money to buy new equipment and upgrade your armor, you can also use teh crops you've farmed to cook dishes that restore your life and stamina, or you can buy food from various shops from each of the towns.

Combat wise there's multiple jobs you can get such as fighter, mage, healer etc and you can switch between 3 of them that you set, you also have two party members to follow you into battle. Also the maps are quite basic and linear so far so theres not a lot of exploring to do which I quite like as there's to many massive open world games atm.

Graphics are what you would expect from a switch game, similar or slightly better than xenoblade chronicles 3, and the performance so far has been good, no frame rate issues.

On PS5 i have started the Ghost of Tsushima DLC and will continue with Fairy Fencer F

On Switch I've got the last dungeon of Zelda Skyward Sword HD to do and I will continue with Harvestella, I've also bought Bayonetta Origins which is coming today so I'm looking forward to trying that.

On xbox I will be playing some more Atomic Heart and Ghostwire Tokyo using the backbone one.

@Tharsman Animal Crossing multiplayer is very minimilistic, same with Mario kart 8 deluxe many users mainly use it for their kids to play or at family gatherings etc the amount of NSO users doesn't match up to the amount of sales these games get, Mario kart 8 has sold over 52 million copies but NSO membership is around 36 million subscribers and not all of them would have Mario kart 8. Even with the free to play multiplayer games like apex legends and overwatch they have only recently come to the system which was thriving before those got added, then there's the recent news of rogue legacy (niche I know) closing it's switch version which surely indicates no one was playing it on switch. There's only three games I see people mainly playing online on switch and that's splatoon, fortnite and smash bros ultimate. Whereas on playstation/xbox there are many games that get players in the millions.

Re: Xbox Is Bringing Nine Bethesda Games To PlayStation Plus This Month

So playstation have no choice but to accept them as its not Microsofts service to just add what they want. Otherwise I thought they would reject them as they obviously know how it will look to the courts. But then again sony surely have to pay for theses games to be included so maybe it was a deal they made years ago before the acquisition.

Re: New Xbox Games Release Dates In 2023

@Bleachedsmiles Bethesda are still publishing their own games and are classed separately to Microsoft on metacritic under top publishers last year and the year before. Even Hi-Fi rush is listed as a Bethesda published game not a Microsoft published game. They are obviously owned by Microsoft but are acting seperately like bunjie are after sony bought them and will most likely continue to make what ever games they want to and continue to publish them themselves. Only thing Microsoft are controlling is what system each games go to.

So for example if Starfield won GoTY it would be a win for Bethesda and not classed as Microsoft winning the award, the single studios under Microsoft where Microsoft act as publisher and the main source of funds would be the games where Microsoft themselves get credit for in the end of year awards and publisher metacritic standings.

Pete Hines says it perfectly himself

"The key point is we’re still Bethesda,"

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Recent Square Enix Games Would You Most Like On Xbox?

UltimateOtaku91

Voted none of them as I play the majority of square enix games on playstation and the few Nintendo exclusives on the switch. But if I were asked which one I'd reccomend for xbox players to play if they were to get these it would be Octopath Traveler 2. Total improvement over the first game in every way and the HD 2D graphics are gorgeous.

I wish square enix would remake final fantasy 1-6 using the octopath traveler engine.

I've finally completed Hogwarts Legacy and it's definitely up there as one of my favourite games and my GOTY so far. So on PS5 i will now concentrate on Fairy Fencer F and the Ghost of Tsushima DLC

On switch I've started Zelda Skyward Sword HD to give me my Zelda fix until the 12th may. I will also be playing some Metroid Prime Remastered, just completed the phazon mines and it's been great so far, hopefully 2 and 3 gets the same treatment.

I'm still waiting for my Backbone one to be delivered, if it comes today I will be playing Atomic Heart and Re-Core on gamepass.

Re: Jim Ryan Fears 'Serious Damage' If Xbox Degrades Call Of Duty For PlayStation

UltimateOtaku91

I don't think Microsoft would release a buggy version on playstation or take away content, but I can see them doing something similar to with psychonauts 2 which didn't have a next gen version for playstation. So for example when the next gen consoles come out instead of sony getting a playstation 6 version of the latest COD they will get a PS5 version instead whilst xbox has the next gen version exclusively. Then yes that would cost playstation a lot of players.
