Last April, we heard reports that SEGA was working on various reboots to bring some of its classics franchises into the modern era. While that report has yet to be backed up by any sort of official announcement from SEGA, one of the rumoured remakes was for Xbox classic Jet Set Radio - and now fresh footage from that series has appeared online.
Now, we're not entirely sure if this clip or the associated images are from a remake of the original or a reboot or what - in fact, we don't know if the footage is real or not just yet. Still, a seemingly modern version of Jet Set Radio has cropped up as part of some sort of rumoured internal development montage at SEGA. Here, take a look at the clip down below:
The very brief look at Jet Set Radio is mixed in with a bunch of Sonic Frontiers footage from before that game's launch, and a seemingly updated version of Persona 3. Again, this one could be a remake of the company's classic JRPG - a remake that Japanese outlet Gematsu believes is indeed in development at SEGA.
Right, back to Jet Set Radio. Again, this is unconfirmed footage at this point so take it all with a pinch of salt, but, even more evidence of such a remake has been shared following the above leaked clip. Twitter user SEGAbits has posted a reel of blurred Jet Set images (in order to hide the watermark name) - backing up prior leaks and reports of a new Jet Set Radio game.
We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any sort of official announcement for either of these remakes, or maybe even for some other classic SEGA titles that could be getting the reboot treatment. It's best to be cautious with this info right now to avoid potential disappointment, but if this is all true, SEGA seems to be cooking up some classic content for future re-releases.
