Q) What are you hoping to see at the Xbox Indie Showcase?
A) I haven't kept track of indie games in the works right now, but I suppose my main hope would be for some of these indie games to get physical releases. It's good to have the option and is more tempting for me personally as a result (I need something to narrow down my game purchases).
Of the ones listed here, I like the look of Tunic, The Gunk, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright and Song of Iron. I feel RPG Time: The Legend of Wright is the most intriguing so far, so I'd certainly like to see either a trailer or in-depth dive into it to give a clearer sense of how it plays.
@mousieone First off, thanks for remembering about my channel; warms my heart.
Secondly, playing this game is certainly something worth considering. It does have co-op and having a more positive playthrough of this game might make it a unique one for folks to watch.
Right now my concern is seeing whether I can get my Switch version preorder of this game changed to an Xbox Series X version. GAME didn't have an Xbox version available until recently but I had preordered this game after the demo (I wanted a physical version, so with no Xbox Version at the time, I went with the Switch version).
Q) Will you be giving Balan Wonderworld another go?
A) I most certainly will, though to be fair, I had nothing but good things to say about the demo. It was a relaxing experience with incredible comfort to the overall feel of the game and a ton of charm.
I suppose looking back on it that it was a bit easy and rather sluggish, but that didn't stop me from having fun with it.
An thank you for relaunching this site. It was my favourite place to learn of Xbox news back in the day and still continues to be since it's return.
I had a lot of fond memories (heck, I won a copy of Project Spark through you guys; ended up making a fair few videos playing that) for this site and my intrigue in getting an Xbox One and investing myself into the Xbox community was certainly spurred on by this site. The users are generally friendly and the articles are well written. Keep up the fantastic work!
Q) Would you have liked to have seen Croc make the leap to Xbox?
A) I loved Croc 2, so seeing his series make it's way onto the Xbox platforms (be it the older titles or a new entry) would be fantastic.
This proposed Croc 3 sounds... intriguing. The headline made me think it was a bad idea for an online focused platformer but the more they explained the more interesting it came across. Of course, there is flaws with such a concept in that you need an active userbase to ensure players could succeed at the 4 player levels (perhaps have split-screen local as an option or have the game able to be completed purely single player if needed) but it'd have been a unique experience.
Q) Do you agree with Phil Spencer’s comments about Nintendo?
A) Well I'm always pleased to hear praise get thrown towards the Wii, my favourite game console, though I've never understood the confusion with the N64 controller. Also always nice to see the higher ups of these companies being friendly towards their competition.
A) Whilst not as much as the likes of Jet Force Gemini or Atic Atac, I would be thrilled to see Conker return. I have fond memories of it's story and multiplayer on the N64.
I actually quite enjoyed Project Spark's Conker's Big Reunion and felt that Team Dakota could have made a pretty decent Conker revival if they built it from the ground-up. A shame they never got that opportunity; I'm not even sure their still around anymore.
A) At this point; not really. All of these vague and broad statements about "how unique it is" and how they are "still playing around with gameplay ideas" hasn't exactly inspired much confidence in me. It looks pretty but a game kind of needs a game to it to truly get me interested and we're all still in the dark about what the game of this game is.
Q) Are you pleased with Xbox’s 2020 results in the UK?
A) Yes, I'm happy to hear the Xbox Series is doing decent in my country and am happy to include myself as one of those purchasers. The Xbox Series X has been a lovely system to use and I look forward to new titles to play on the system.
Q) Are you looking forward to Bright Memory Infinite?
A) Yep; glad to have it reconfirmed for a 2021 release though I was hoping for at least a seasonal info reveal (Spring, Summer, Autumn). Still, cool to see a little bit more of it. I enjoyed the original Bright Memory on my Xbox Series X and look forward to a lengthier experience of it.
Q) Are you excited at the prospect of E3 returning?
A) Very much so. Having a singular event to learn and react to a wealth of gaming news is far nicer than the drips on info we got throughout last year, so E3's return would be much appreciated.
I think it was Maximillian Dood who coined the term, Gamer's Christmas, and I personally feel E3 fits that well. Nintendo Directs (particularly as of late), Inside Xbox and whatever Sony does don't seem to compare to the wealth of info and reveals E3 can do; particularly in being able to learn about games across all the systems. Having E3 with it's specific date for reveals and new info also allows me to plan out my purchases (and Birthday/Christmas presents) with far greater ease.
Q) Are you eager to try out Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan?
A) Yes; I had a fun time with both the anime and manga and have particularly enjoyed CyberConnect2's past games. I'm delighted to hear it'll be available on Xbox Series X and depending on how it shapes up from further trailers, I'd say this is a very likely purchase for me.
A) I have just finished trying out the demo (only the first chapter so far) and my thoughts seem to be quite contrasting with others in this comment section. I had a lot of fun with the game. It controls well, I could judge distance easily with it and the game is brimming with charm. Top notch on the sound and graphics.
It is certainly easy and simple but I feel that makes it quite suitable for kids and the cute aesthetic fits well in that regard. I'd say my only nuisance is having to back to the tent to equip costumes in case I lose any; that could easily have been a pause menu feature.
I've preordered the game already so I was really worried given everyone's comments here but I'm glad to find I enjoy the game quite a lot.
Q) When do you think we'll be able to play the new Fable game?
A) Well I never expected it to release this year but given the lack of info, I'm also doubting a Winter release i 2022. My prediction would be 2023; either Spring or Autumn time.
Q) Excited for this next chapter?
A) Very much so; simply knowing a new Fable was going to pop up in future was a deciding factor in purchasing the Xbox Series X day one. The Fable games have been great and the little I've heard about this new one does have me optimistic.
Admittedly, Fable Legends was a deciding factor to me buying an Xbox One but with this mainline revival being a pretty big deal, I can hope the same fate won't befall this Xbox Series X entry.
Q) Would you love to see Ninja Gaiden return in the future?
A) Whilst my limited experience of Ninja Gaiden is mixed (I've played Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge and it was pretty good... until the added Ayane stages with bosses so frustrating that the way to beat them is boring and prolonged), I think fans have been without a new entry for a long time and it'd be good to see a new instalment. As far as Team Ninja goes, I'm quite a big fan of the Dead or Alive series but after the disappointing DOA6... yeah, that series should probably have a bit of a break. So having them focus on their other IPs for a bit before returning to make a far better DOA would probably be the best route.
Q) Will you be checking out the Balan Wonderworld demo?
A) I believe I will do so if I have a bit of time spare. From the sounds of it, this demo seems to offer access to quite a bit and not just early game content.
I'm glad to see Microsoft pushing this fantastic looking game so much... even if I just did preorder it on Switch. I'd have loved to have purchased it on Xbox Series X, my current preferred choice for multi-platform games, but it isn't available physically on the Xbox platforms. Thus the Switch version is what I'm going with.
This demo will at least serve as an interesting insight into what could have been if I were to have gotten it on the Xbox Series X though.
A victory for players indeed. It was a bit... inconsiderate of Microsoft to try and do the price hike in the first place (particularly in current times) but I will praise them for listening and properly adjusting to the feedback given.
I admittedly don't have Xbox Live Gold at the moment and probably until I find the right game to tempt me online (DOA6 was sadly not it, but was hoped to be) but I'm glad to hear that the option is available to me in future.
@KilloWertz I do like the look of it (it only released digitally before, so it's not like I've played it), like my beat em ups and enjoyed the movie, but as always, there are plenty of other games likely to come out within the year and in physical form so it's not like I don't have alternative game options. I've had a bad habit before of buying too many games without the time to properly play them so having a filtering criteria like whether it's physical or not helps narrow my game choices.
Then funnily enough, a physical version of this game got announced. That's great to hear. I believe it's some site exclusive and I'm not keen on paying online, but it's now a far more tempting offer.
I think it's just been 3 years since I last turned on my younger brother's 360, as I believe that last time I played a game on it was when we recorded a Let's Play of Diablo 3. We could have recorded a short video or two after that, but I'm pretty sure that was the last time we used the 360.
My brother may have played some games on it in his spare time but I myself haven't turned it on since due to the agony system seemed to be. We had been considering recording let's plays of Fable 1 and 2 via the 360 (which funny enough, a revisit to Fable 2 in 2016 was the last time I used it purely for personal entertainment), but we might just take advantage of backwards compatibility now instead.
Q) What gaming goals would you like to achieve by the time the year is over?
A) Much like a good 7 other people have mentioned, my plan is to buy fewer games and progress further in the games I purchase. It'd also be nice to tackle some of my backlog... at least more of my backlog that isn't just Wii games (I review them, thus they end up taking priority).
Now which game should I go back to; one I wish to progress more with or one that I never got around to trying out but do own? A tough decision to be sure.
A) I will be honest; I thought this had happened last year. In fact, my brother and I recorded a playthrough of the game for our channel when we heard the news. It makes for a neat bit of historical preservation to a degree and something unique that can't be replicated in the future.
Which in of itself is silly and just goes to show how baffling an always online game in 'every' mode of it is... well, MMO's are probably an exception for obvious reasons. The single player didn't need to be always online but they made it that way and that's a shame.
Q) Did you enjoy Battleborn?
A) It's not quite my cup of tea and I found the characters a tad grating (due to how most of it's large cast have the same snarky characteristics) but I had fun with it's campaign. It had a nice structure to it, it was fun to try out new characters and get progressively better over the course of each level and co-op always helps make a game a bit more fun.
A) Somewhat; it looks better than the more recent entries and is a game I've been considering. A physical release on the Xbox systems would probably convince me, but from my last few checks of GAME's website, I can't find this game available on any platform.
Cool that this game is popping up on Xbox platforms but a bit of a shame that is for the US only. So it seems this game will be passing me by, or perhaps will be a later purchase/present months from now (which is probably for the best, as it's release date is wedged between two other games I hope to purchase).
A) Aside from potentially Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition, there is nothing I'm particularly looking forward to in January.
An Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition is only a 'potentially' due to not having a physical release; I'm always hesitant with digital purchases and don't like buying too many each year. I already plan on buying Bright Memory: Infinite this year as a priority pick and that is digital only as far as I'm aware... so I'll probably wait on the Scott Pilgrim game.
It's not a big deal anyway. I've plenty of games left over from this year and Christmas time to play anyway. As such, January game releases always seemed a strange thing to me.
I'm a bit late in saying this but Merry Christmas to all the staff and members of Pure Xbox. It's been fantastic to be able to learn of and share in the hype for the Xbox Series X and I'm thankful for this site's return.
I look forward to next year and learning of/discussing future Xbox Series X releases to enjoy.
As a fan of Gal*Gun 2 (one of my top 6 favourite games on the Switch so far) and someone who partly chose to go with the Xbox line over the PlayStation line due to Sony's recent censorship policies (among other reasons though), this is very disappointing news for me. Hopefully this is only a blip and other games won't receive similar treatment on the Xbox platform, as the Xbox One and now Xbox Series X is my preferred platform to play games on.
That said, I was more likely to get this game on Switch anyway, due to it having a physical release on said system. It's actually been a bit of an internal debate as to whether I go for the Switch version because of my physical preference or go for the Xbox version to support games such as Gal*Gun on the platform... I guess that debate has been solved for me and I shall be enjoying Gal*Gun Returns on my Switch.
A) I don't seem to find myself with the time to play as many games as I would like too and my gaming purchases are split between two systems... but out of the 4 Xbox 2020 games I've played this year, I'd put Yakuza: Like A Dragon down as my favourite.
There is a bit too much to do in terms of side content and a few too many cutscenes which slow the main game pace down but all of it is enjoyable, particularly the witty and charming characters and storyline. The turn based gameplay is fun and it's interesting experiencing it through a more urban environment.
Edit: Oh yeah, I selected Other as one of my three votes. My votes were for Ori and the Will of the Wisps (I don't find it as good as the original but it's still a lot of fun), Bright Memory and of course, Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
Q) Which Xbox games will you be playing this weekend?
A) I'll be playing a bit of a random assortment of games this weekend across the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X.
Specifically in regards to the Xbox Series X, I'll finally be giving Yakuza: Like A Dragon a break (I've been playing it every day since I got my new console and having tons of fun with it) and trying out Bright Memory 1.0 tomorrow. As a shorter game, I'll also be using it to test out how well my Happauge capture device works on the new system and see it's potential for future let's plays and the like.
Q) Have you laid eyes on your Xbox Series X|S yet?
A) Oh yes, and it's a beautiful system... too bad I can't play games on it yet as the installing is taking ages (our house's boarder is downloading the latest Destiny 2 update which is probably affecting things). Still, it has otherwise booted up just fine and was an easy process to set-up. Everything is super smooth now and a heck of a jump from my classic Xbox One.
Within a couple hours I hope to be playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon on it. I hope everyone else if having fun with their Xbox Series X/S!
A) Very much so, even though I'm not a huge fan of FPS games. That initial trailer with the rainy setting and the sudden swordplay grabbed my interest and I'm looking forward to trying the original version of in the form of Bright Memory 1.0. I've liked what I've continued to see and it is one of the 6 or so games that has me really hyped for the Xbox Series X.
Q) What do you think of the screenshots?
A) Screenshots look very nice. The rainy settings look great and the protagonist design is neat. @Only1PJA brings up a good point in regards to the screenshots; can the camera angle be changed? I would love it if you could; I'm a much bigger fan of 3rd person view over 1st person.
A) Yes, but hopefully I can sort it out. I had a call about pre-payment concept last week, before the lockdown announcement, and I rejected it due to plans to do more additional things on that day out. Obviously I can't do those things then and now will have to go with the pre-payment option which will hopefully work out.
I also had to ask how this affect game purchases and the like. I'm assuming that I can also pre-pay for games that are releasing on the same day as the Xbox Series X or pay in store and arrange for delivery... hopefully. I was able to once have a product paid for in store and delivered but I know my nearest GAME store has new management since that time and don't know if things will be different... and of course because of how things are different in general.
Q) Planning on pre-ordering this, or has the short length put you off?
A) Whilst whether I can get an Xbox Series X is a bit up in the air what with the UK going back into lockdown, if I can, I hope to get this game. I'm not usually an FPS fan but Bright Memory Infinite has me curious and excited, with this game serving as a nice teaser for it.
I don't mind the short length at all. I rarely complete games as it is, so having a game I can actually tick off in getting to the end will be quite a nice change of pace.
Q) Have you got Yakuza: Like a Dragon pre-ordered for your Series X?
A) Yep, I do. It and Bright Memory 1.0 are my Xbox Series X launch game plans. I love the gameplay of turn based RPGs and the game looks hilarious so I'm confident I'll have a good time with this.
That trailer was brilliant, even if it could have done more to present it's core gameplay. Still, it was a short trailer that had me laughing throughout which sets the tone well.
Q) Which of these next-gen optimised titles are you most excited for?
A) For me, it is Bright Memory 1.0, even though it's going to be more of a teaser for when Bright Memory Infinite comes out. I've heard it's short so it'll be nice to have a game I can actually complete.
I'm sure I'll be having fun with Yakuza: Like A Dragon as well, but I don't have a great track record getting to the end of such lengthy games. So yeah, for me at launch it'll be those two games and they should satisfy me for the couple months that will remain of 2020 when I pick up my Xbox Series X. I may also try out a few backwards compatible games as well... unsure which ones... maybe ReCore, Code Vein and Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
A) The Duke happens to be one of my favourite controllers of all. I only used it a few times on an Xbox my friend owned, but I later got the Hyperkin 2018 version for the Xbox One and it was an absolute treat to use.
Sadly, it has since suffered from the dreaded drift and I've yet to be able to get a replacement from GAME. The warranty is likely to run out at this rate so I'll likely have to get it repaired itself. I do hope the Xbox Series X gets a Duke controller down the line.
Q) Were you a fan of the design, or was it just far too big and bulky to manage?
A) For the design of the controller, on a purely aesthetic level, I thought it was okay. The buttons had a lovely glimmering looking to them that set itself apart nicely from other controllers without changing things too much.
An nope, the controller was never too big and bulky for me. In fact, it was perfect for my hands. I must have big hands because my favourite game controllers include the Wii U Gamepad, Dreamcast controller and the Duke (the Wii remote as well, but that's more for it's capabilities whilst not being too small and light like I feel with the Joy-cons).
A) Nope; I saw the word app and knew immediately that it would require a phone so no chance of me entering.
Q) What do you think of the controller?
A) I actually like the controller; very lively and the red-and-white layout works well. I admittedly don't eat at KFC anymore (they ruined the chips) but the controller is something I wouldn't mind owning.
Q) Which Xbox games will you be playing this weekend?
A) As far Xbox games go, it's only been Crash Bandicoot 4 for me this weekend. I haven't progressed far but that's because I've been trying to get a couple or so skins I liked the look of and I've been played quite a handful of other games recently.
I'm sure to play more of Crash Bandicoot 4 throughout the week, but for reasons relating to my let's play channel as well as story writing, I'm dabbling in with Pokémon Sword, Pangya! Golf with Style and Pokémon Diamond... so a lot of gaming going on now which is great.
Q) Is there anything you're particularly looking forward to in this list?
A) Well much like @Luminous117 and @Razputinman, I'm looking forward to Crash Bandicoot 4.
I did check out a few of the other games mentioned, and whilst Dragon Lapis is cute and Re:Turn - One Way Trip is intriguing, I think I'll be sticking to just Crash 4... as far as the Xbox One goes. I also plan on purchasing the recent Kirby Fighters 2, a game I'll no doubt end up playing a lot with my Kirby obsessed nephew.
So with both Kirby Fighters 2 and Crash Bandicoot 4 as upcoming purchases and presently playing Pokémon Sword, PANGYA: Golf with Style and Nexomon: Extinction, I feel I've got my hands pretty full when it comes to gaming right now.
Q) Pleased to see Bright Memory heading to Xbox Series X|S?
A) Surprised is my dominant emotion, but as someone whose very much intrigued by Bright Memory: Infinite and have heard a fair bit of praise to the original, I guess I'd say I'm pleased. Whether I'll purchase it or not will depend on price; I think I'll let my preference for physical games slide for what looks to be a smaller title (I do make the odd exception every year).
Also, I am perfectly okay with a shorter length game. They are much more to my preference as well, although only a couple of hours might be pushing it (sounds more like a demo at that point).
@Fenbops As far as I can tell from my GAME store in the UK, you are able to preorder Xbox Series X games now.
Whilst I could always take advantage of the backwards compatibility of the system and play any of my Xbox One games as my game for the Xbox Series X, it feels more right to try out a whole new game on a new system. I like turn based RPGs and it looked hilarious, so I chose Yakuza: Like A Dragon for my launch title purchase.
Q) Have you been able to pre-order an Xbox Series X|S today?
A) Yes, though sadly the tale is not as interesting as others here. I just walked into my nearest Game store (about 12 miles away) at around 10:30, went up to the till and pre-ordered it.
I had heard some say that the pre=order price was the exact price of the console but it turned out to only be a tenner. So yeah, I've got both an Xbox Series X and Yakuza: Like A Dragon pre-ordered.
Q) Do you like the design of the Xbox Series S, or would you have preferred something different?
A) I really like the Xbox Series S design and that addition of the big black grate was a good call. That said, I'd have preferred it if they went with a nice Xbox green to it. I like it when the companies emphasis their colours... then again, I'd admittedly prefer the entire system to be green (the fact that most consoles released come as only black or white has gotten rather boring).
Q) Will you be picking up Nexomon: Extinction for Xbox One next week?
A) No, but that's only because I've already purchased this game for Switch. I didn't hear anything about a physical release on Xbox One so my plan was always to buy it on Switch.
Also, this game is absolutely amazing and so far the highlight for me of 2020's gaming! I do highly recommend it!
Q) Are you keeping a keen eye on Balan Wonderworld?
A) Very much so; this was the game that had me most excited in the Xbox Showcase (and it was in the pre-show) and is currently my most anticipated game for next year. It looks fantastic; everything about it's two trailers has me pumped to try it out and platform through it's lush worlds.
I'll most likely be getting this for Xbox Series X, so I guess it currently stands as my most anticipated Xbox Series X game as well (Fable would be higher if gameplay had been shown, but I know it's a bit soon for that).
A) To be honest, the weight of the system itself wasn't something I thought about. I don't move the consoles themselves about much. Ultimately the weight of the system doesn't matter as much compared to size and shape; so long as I can get a good grip on it when picking it up and moving it then it doesn't matter so much how heavy it is.
Q) Happy with these weight specs?
A) I suppose. I admittedly do prefer a lot of my stuff to be heavier, gives it a sturdier feeling to it and more of a presence; though I'm typically thinking of the controllers when I consider weight.
The first game I'll be playing on my Xbox Series X will be the launch game I plan to get with it; Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
I like turn based RPGs and it's look to be a game filled with quite a lot of humour to it. The setting and style seems to be quite unique for turn based RPGs.
Q) Are you sticking with the Xbox Series X, has the low price of the Xbox Series S tempted you, or are you still on the fence about both of them?
A) With rejuvenated hype thanks to the Xbox Series S reveal and the highly rumoured $499 (potentially £450 for UK currency) price tag for the Xbox Series X, I feel confident in saying that I will buy an Xbox Series X at launch.
I'm a physical collection gamer, so no disc drive turns me off the Xbox Series S, despite how affordable and nice as it looks. The Xbox Series X still looks great and the rumoured price is very acceptable for me, so I should be able to pick it up on launch day with Yakuza: Like A Dragon and potentially with a memory card + Forza Horizon 4, depending on how much money I have spare.
A) I think it looks fantastic. The Xbox Series S is strangely adorable and more creative looking than the design ideas others were thinking of.
That said, with no disc drive, I won't be getting one. It has however reinvigorated my excitement for the next generation of gaming and the hinting of an affordable pricing for the Xbox Series X at under 500 (if it follows the same patterns as the Xbox Series S, then an Xbox Series X could be a very enticing £450 in the UK currency) is lovely news to my ears. It's surprising how a confirmation of a price and date can have such impact on the hype for a system; I look forward to official reveals of those for the Xbox Series X!
Oh gosh; this is actually a hard one to think of. I love the blocky look of the Xbox Series X but their is something strangely adorable about the Xbox Series S. The colour is more to my preference and I think the additional fan on the front is a neat touch.
I'm going to be getting an Xbox Series X because of the disc drive, but purely in terms of design, I think my vote goes to Xbox Series S.
Q) Are you liking the look of Bright Memory: Infinite?
A) Very much so; it's presently at the top of my most anticipated Xbox Series X games list... which is very peculiar given a new Fable got announced and that this is an FPS game.
There's just something about this game that feels... enticing. Everything looks so fluid and the gameplay looks thrilling; an that trailer served to only get me more excited for the game. The protagonist looks fantastic and that boss sequence at the end looked cool.
Q) Have you been seeking a Pokémon-inspired game to play on your Xbox?
A) Whilst not specifically on Xbox, I have been curious in trying out more of the Pokémon inspired games to see what they can offer over Pokémon as it currently stands. In general though, I enjoy Pokémon, so it seems likely I will enjoy other Pokémon styled competitors such as Nexomon here.
Q) Will you be trying out Nexomon next month?
A) I'll be trying it out sooner than that as I'll be purchasing the game on Switch this week. My preference for gaming systems is with the Xbox One (I haven't enjoyed the Switch nearly as much as the Wii U) but to my knowledge, the Xbox One wasn't receiving a physical version of this game. Having a physical version takes priority for me when it comes to picking whether to get a game on either Switch or Xbox One.

Re: Feature: 10 Games We Hope To See At Today's Xbox Indie Showcase
Re: Balan Wonderworld Will Have A Day One Patch To Rectify Player Issues
@mousieone First off, thanks for remembering about my channel; warms my heart.
Secondly, playing this game is certainly something worth considering. It does have co-op and having a more positive playthrough of this game might make it a unique one for folks to watch.
Right now my concern is seeing whether I can get my Switch version preorder of this game changed to an Xbox Series X version. GAME didn't have an Xbox version available until recently but I had preordered this game after the demo (I wanted a physical version, so with no Xbox Version at the time, I went with the Switch version).
Re: Balan Wonderworld Will Have A Day One Patch To Rectify Player Issues
Q) Will you be giving Balan Wonderworld another go?
A) I most certainly will, though to be fair, I had nothing but good things to say about the demo. It was a relaxing experience with incredible comfort to the overall feel of the game and a ton of charm.
I suppose looking back on it that it was a bit easy and rather sluggish, but that didn't stop me from having fun with it.

An thank you for relaunching this site. It was my favourite place to learn of Xbox news back in the day and still continues to be since it's return.

Re: Random: Croc 3 Almost Became An Online Multiplayer Xbox Game
Re: Phil Spencer Says Xbox Could Never Have Designed A Console Like The Nintendo Wii
Re: Rare Celebrates Conker’s 20th Anniversary Today
Q) Would you love to see Conker return?
A) Whilst not as much as the likes of Jet Force Gemini or Atic Atac, I would be thrilled to see Conker return. I have fond memories of it's story and multiplayer on the N64.
I actually quite enjoyed Project Spark's Conker's Big Reunion and felt that Team Dakota could have made a pretty decent Conker revival if they built it from the ground-up. A shame they never got that opportunity; I'm not even sure their still around anymore.
Re: Everwild’s Lead Designer Says Its ‘Something The World Hasn’t Seen Before’
Q) Are you interested in Everwild?
A) At this point; not really. All of these vague and broad statements about "how unique it is" and how they are "still playing around with gameplay ideas" hasn't exactly inspired much confidence in me. It looks pretty but a game kind of needs a game to it to truly get me interested and we're all still in the dark about what the game of this game is.
Re: Over 310,000 Xbox Series Consoles Were Sold In The UK Last Year
Q) Are you pleased with Xbox’s 2020 results in the UK?
A) Yes, I'm happy to hear the Xbox Series is doing decent in my country and am happy to include myself as one of those purchasers. The Xbox Series X has been a lovely system to use and I look forward to new titles to play on the system.
Re: Bright Memory: Infinite's Latest Trailer Reveals The Villain, Coming To Xbox Series X This Year
Q) Are you looking forward to Bright Memory Infinite?
A) Yep; glad to have it reconfirmed for a 2021 release though I was hoping for at least a seasonal info reveal (Spring, Summer, Autumn). Still, cool to see a little bit more of it. I enjoyed the original Bright Memory on my Xbox Series X and look forward to a lengthier experience of it.
Re: E3 Reportedly Planning Three-Day, Digital-Only Event This Year
Q) Are you excited at the prospect of E3 returning?
Re: Demon Slayer Confirmed To Be Arriving On Xbox Series X Later This Year
Q) Are you eager to try out Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppuutan?
A) Yes; I had a fun time with both the anime and manga and have particularly enjoyed CyberConnect2's past games. I'm delighted to hear it'll be available on Xbox Series X and depending on how it shapes up from further trailers, I'd say this is a very likely purchase for me.
Re: Balan Wonderworld Demo Out Now, Try The Entire First Chapter
Q) Have you tried the Balan Wonderworld demo yet?
Re: Playground Fills Associate Chief Designer Role For New Fable Game
Re: Team Ninja Has No Plans For A New Ninja Gaiden, But Would Love To See It Return To Xbox
Re: Balan Wonderworld Is Getting A Free Demo On Xbox Later This Month
Re: Microsoft Admits It 'Messed Up' And Will No Longer Increase The Price Of Xbox Live Gold
Re: These 20+ Games Are Coming To Xbox In January 2021
Re: Poll: When Was The Last Time You Turned On An Xbox 360?
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Gaming Resolutions For 2021?
Q) What gaming goals would you like to achieve by the time the year is over?
A) Much like a good 7 other people have mentioned, my plan is to buy fewer games and progress further in the games I purchase. It'd also be nice to tackle some of my backlog... at least more of my backlog that isn't just Wii games (I review them, thus they end up taking priority).
Now which game should I go back to; one I wish to progress more with or one that I never got around to trying out but do own? A tough decision to be sure.
Re: 2K's Battleborn Will Be Completely Unplayable After This Month
Q) What are your thoughts on this?
Re: Xbox Is Getting A Brand-New Harvest Moon Game This Year
Q) Interested in this one?
A) Somewhat; it looks better than the more recent entries and is a game I've been considering. A physical release on the Xbox systems would probably convince me, but from my last few checks of GAME's website, I can't find this game available on any platform.
Cool that this game is popping up on Xbox platforms but a bit of a shame that is for the US only. So it seems this game will be passing me by, or perhaps will be a later purchase/present months from now (which is probably for the best, as it's release date is wedged between two other games I hope to purchase).
Re: These 20+ Games Are Coming To Xbox In January 2021
Q) What are you particularly looking forward to?
Re: Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays From The Pure Xbox Team
I'm a bit late in saying this but Merry Christmas to all the staff and members of Pure Xbox. It's been fantastic to be able to learn of and share in the hype for the Xbox Series X and I'm thankful for this site's return.
I look forward to next year and learning of/discussing future Xbox Series X releases to enjoy.
Re: Anime Rail Shooter Gal Gun Returns Cancelled For Xbox One
Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year 2020?
Q) What Is Your Xbox Game of the Year 2020?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Nov 14th)
Re: Happy Xbox Series X|S Launch! Have You Received Yours?
Re: Bright Memory: Infinite Dazzles Once Again In Latest Screenshots
Q) Excited for this one?
Re: English Lockdown Sees Retailers Shuffle Xbox Series Launch Plans
Q) Has your pre-order been affected by this?
Re: Xbox Series FPS Bright Memory 1.0 Is A Very Affordable Launch Title
Q) Planning on pre-ordering this, or has the short length put you off?
A) Whilst whether I can get an Xbox Series X is a bit up in the air what with the UK going back into lockdown, if I can, I hope to get this game. I'm not usually an FPS fan but Bright Memory Infinite has me curious and excited, with this game serving as a nice teaser for it.
I don't mind the short length at all. I rarely complete games as it is, so having a game I can actually tick off in getting to the end will be quite a nice change of pace.
Re: Yakuza: Like A Dragon Embraces The Crazy In Xbox Series X Trailer
Q) Have you got Yakuza: Like a Dragon pre-ordered for your Series X?
A) Yep, I do. It and Bright Memory 1.0 are my Xbox Series X launch game plans. I love the gameplay of turn based RPGs and the game looks hilarious so I'm confident I'll have a good time with this.
That trailer was brilliant, even if it could have done more to present it's core gameplay. Still, it was a short trailer that had me laughing throughout which sets the tone well.
Re: Pick One: Which Xbox Series Launch Game Are You Most Excited For?
Re: Talking Point: Were You A Fan Of The Original Xbox 'Duke' Controller?
Q) How do you feel about the Duke?
Re: KFC GB Is Giving Away Xbox Series X Consoles & Custom Controllers
Q) Planning to take part in this?
A) Nope; I saw the word app and knew immediately that it would require a phone so no chance of me entering.
Q) What do you think of the controller?
A) I actually like the controller; very lively and the red-and-white layout works well. I admittedly don't eat at KFC anymore (they ruined the chips) but the controller is something I wouldn't mind owning.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Oct 3rd)
Re: These 15 Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (Sep 29 - Oct 2)
Re: Fast-Paced FPS Bright Memory Joins The Xbox Series Launch Lineup
Re: Talking Point: Have You Been Able To Pre-Order An Xbox Series X|S?
@Fenbops As far as I can tell from my GAME store in the UK, you are able to preorder Xbox Series X games now.
Whilst I could always take advantage of the backwards compatibility of the system and play any of my Xbox One games as my game for the Xbox Series X, it feels more right to try out a whole new game on a new system. I like turn based RPGs and it looked hilarious, so I chose Yakuza: Like A Dragon for my launch title purchase.
Re: Talking Point: Have You Been Able To Pre-Order An Xbox Series X|S?
Q) Have you been able to pre-order an Xbox Series X|S today?
A) Yes, though sadly the tale is not as interesting as others here. I just walked into my nearest Game store (about 12 miles away) at around 10:30, went up to the till and pre-ordered it.
I had heard some say that the pre=order price was the exact price of the console but it turned out to only be a tenner. So yeah, I've got both an Xbox Series X and Yakuza: Like A Dragon pre-ordered.
Re: The Xbox Series S Has A Big, Black Grate To 'Simplify The Look'
Q) Do you like the design of the Xbox Series S, or would you have preferred something different?
A) I really like the Xbox Series S design and that addition of the big black grate was a good call. That said, I'd have preferred it if they went with a nice Xbox green to it. I like it when the companies emphasis their colours... then again, I'd admittedly prefer the entire system to be green (the fact that most consoles released come as only black or white has gotten rather boring).
Re: Nexomon: Extinction Brings Its Digital Monsters To Xbox Next Week
Q) Will you be picking up Nexomon: Extinction for Xbox One next week?
A) No, but that's only because I've already purchased this game for Switch. I didn't hear anything about a physical release on Xbox One so my plan was always to buy it on Switch.
Also, this game is absolutely amazing and so far the highlight for me of 2020's gaming! I do highly recommend it!
Re: Balan Wonderworld Brings Its Imaginary Land To Xbox Next March
Q) Are you keeping a keen eye on Balan Wonderworld?
A) Very much so; this was the game that had me most excited in the Xbox Showcase (and it was in the pre-show) and is currently my most anticipated game for next year. It looks fantastic; everything about it's two trailers has me pumped to try it out and platform through it's lush worlds.
I'll most likely be getting this for Xbox Series X, so I guess it currently stands as my most anticipated Xbox Series X game as well (Fable would be higher if gameplay had been shown, but I know it's a bit soon for that).
Re: The Xbox Series S/X Are The Lightest & Heaviest Consoles In Xbox History
Q) What do you make of this?
A) To be honest, the weight of the system itself wasn't something I thought about. I don't move the consoles themselves about much. Ultimately the weight of the system doesn't matter as much compared to size and shape; so long as I can get a good grip on it when picking it up and moving it then it doesn't matter so much how heavy it is.
Q) Happy with these weight specs?
A) I suppose. I admittedly do prefer a lot of my stuff to be heavier, gives it a sturdier feeling to it and more of a presence; though I'm typically thinking of the controllers when I consider weight.
Re: Talking Point: What Will You Play First On Your New Xbox Series S/X?
The first game I'll be playing on my Xbox Series X will be the launch game I plan to get with it; Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
I like turn based RPGs and it's look to be a game filled with quite a lot of humour to it. The setting and style seems to be quite unique for turn based RPGs.
Re: Poll: Which Next-Gen Xbox Are You Currently Planning To Buy?
Re: Microsoft Officially Reveals The Xbox Series S, £249 Confirmed
Q) What do you think of this first look?
Re: Poll: Which Design Do You Prefer, Xbox Series S Or X?
Oh gosh; this is actually a hard one to think of. I love the blocky look of the Xbox Series X but their is something strangely adorable about the Xbox Series S. The colour is more to my preference and I think the additional fan on the front is a neat touch.
I'm going to be getting an Xbox Series X because of the disc drive, but purely in terms of design, I think my vote goes to Xbox Series S.
Re: Video: Bright Memory: Infinite Continues To Impress In Latest Trailer
Q) Are you liking the look of Bright Memory: Infinite?
A) Very much so; it's presently at the top of my most anticipated Xbox Series X games list... which is very peculiar given a new Fable got announced and that this is an FPS game.
There's just something about this game that feels... enticing. Everything looks so fluid and the gameplay looks thrilling; an that trailer served to only get me more excited for the game. The protagonist looks fantastic and that boss sequence at the end looked cool.
Re: Pokémon-Like Nexomon: Extinction Delayed For Xbox One Until Mid-September
