Re: Talking Point: Should The Xbox One Version Of Halo Infinite Be Scrapped?

Souldin

Q) What are your own thoughts?

A) Well I think that, unless the game is delayed by a significant amount of time, that it's probably a bit late for scrapping the Xbox One version to enhance the Xbox Series X in any significant way. I mean, I don't know the background of when Halo Infinite was being made in conjunction with when the Xbox Series X specs were finalised, but I imagine that this game was made initially for the Xbox One and then was decided to be a cross-gen game.

I guess the best that could be done would to be prioritise enhancing the Xbox Series X version and perhaps even release it sooner, but scrapping the Xbox One Version at this point seems like it'd result in wasted money and audience.

Q) Should 343 Industries scrap the Xbox One version of Halo Infinite?

A) I voted No. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild seemed to have no issue with being released on Wii U and Switch, with the game not seemingly held back mechanically by this nor sales wise (the Switch sold like crazy still), so I don't see it being an issue with Halo Infinite either.

Re: The Scott Pilgrim Game Might Finally Be Making A Comeback

Souldin

Q) Do you want to see a return of Scott Pilgrim VS. The World?

A) Most certainly. I never got a chance to play the game but I loved how it looked and the film is easily one of my favourites so I'd love the opportunity to be able to do so.

I'm not big on digital downloads but I'd be happy to download this if it returns (though a physical release would be awesome).

Re: Playground Games Is On A Recruitment Drive For The New Fable

Souldin

Q) What's the earliest date you expect this game to arrive?

A) I was always feeling it to be a 2022 title, but I suppose with the positions being advertised for, that it looks more likely to be a Winter 2022 title now (with a potential slip into Early 2023 if problems arise).

Regardless, I'm looking forward to whenever it comes out. Part of my purchasing decision in regards to the Xbox Series X is in anticipation of this game; it's a long wait and one I'm hopeful will be worth it.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Picking Up An Xbox Series X This November?

Souldin

Q) Will You Be Buying An Xbox Series X This November?

A) Before I answer this, I will say that I feel you should have split the price and Series S answers into 2 separate answers. Price is a concern for me but I have no interest in a Series S.

Anyway, as for my answer, I will most likely get a Series X depending on if I have the money for it; which is in part due to how much work I get this year and the price of the system... as well as depending on if I'll be able to get into a store around the time. It's a little hard to plan ahead with 'events' going on in this year.

Q) Has Halo Infinite's Delay Changed Your Mind?

A) Nope; it looked neat and had potential as a fun co-op game but was never a huge factor in my purchasing decision.

Currently, I plan to pick up an Xbox Series X alongside Yakuza: Like A Dragon. I may also purchase either Forza Horizon 4 or Dirt 5 (leaning towards Forza currently) around the same time, based on the launch window games I know of so far.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Delay To Halo Infinite?

Souldin

Q) How Do You Feel About The Delay To Halo Infinite?

A) I enjoy Halo but I'm not a huge fan or player of it; Halo Infinite to me was a case of either being a game that I happened to get at launch as a pack-in deal or such, or simply to play co-op campaign with one of my brothers. So it's delay doesn't effect me specifically.

An overall, from the statements released so far, I admire Microsoft and higher ups of 343 Studios for opting for a delay in these troubling times rather than implementing Crunch Time to get the game done on time. Once again, Microsoft has taken the moral high ground... whether people will perceive it that way is up to debate (the game has been worked on for a long time after all).

Q) How Big Of A Loss Is Halo Infinite To The Xbox Series X's Launch?

A) The biggest lost is due to a matter of perception and reputation. Despite how Halo Infinite was a cross-generation release, it has been perceived as the Xbox Series X big launch title (much like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was for Switch, despite also releasing on Wii U) and it's absence will be likely perceived as a disaster by a wide range of gamers. It might have less of an impact depending on how the narrative is taken regarding it, but then I don't feel the wider audience will look into the statements or background of the delay and just see the 'delay' part of the matter.

Re: Microsoft Reveals The Xbox Series X Will Launch In November

Souldin

I kind of assumed the Xbox Series X would be releasing in November, that was almost a given, but what is this about Halo Infinite being delayed?

I've got to say that is... an amazing amount of confidence that Microsoft has in their system if they plan to launch it without their major first party title. I wonder why they delayed it? Could they perhaps have done so for fear of entering Crunch Time (which has been more widely criticised as of late) to get the game done on a set schedule?

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Game In Rare Replay?

Souldin

Q) Which Is Your Favourite Game In Rare Replay?

A) That would be Jet Force Gemini for me, though I will admit that I have had so much fun with Atic Atac that it did make me pause to think on my answer.

Jetpac, R.C. Pro-Am 2, Sabre Wulf, Kameo: Elements of Power and Conker's Bad Fur Day are also enjoyable Rare games from that collection. I've also been meaning to try out Grabbed by the Ghoulies but have yet to get around to doing so.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Do You Want Added To Xbox Backwards Compatibility?

Souldin

Q) What original Xbox and Xbox 360 games would you still like to see made backwards compatible?

A) I never owned an original Xbox so it'd be lovely to be able to collect original Xbox games and then play them on an Xbox Series X. In particular, I'd love for Blinx to be made backwards compatible but there are a few others that have my interest (I had a list of them somewhere - Found it!)

The Dead or Alive and Project Zero entries would be spectacular. Having a modern system capable of playing the likes of Malice and Worms 3D would be neat. An I hear the original Xbox had an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh game, that would be fun to track down. Gunvalkyrie looked pretty cool, as did both Nightcaster and Black Stone: Magic & Steel.

For Xbox 360 games... off the top of my head I can only think of the BlazBlue games and some of the JRPGs I got like Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. I'll have to look up more titles later on; backwards compatibility does a great job of incentivising old school purchasing.

Re: Armature Studio Says New ReCore 'Would Be Great To See'

Souldin

Q) Do you want to see a new game in the series?

A) Yes, yes, yes, yes! ReCore is still competing with Ori and the Blind Forest in regards to being my favourite game on the Xbox One. I absolutely loved the combat and platforming of ReCore and the world of Far Eden was one of the only times I ever understood the appeal of being immersed in a world. It's one of those games wherein whenever I stopped playing I would keep thinking about it and looking forward to when I'd next have chance to.

I haven't played it since the Definitive Update though; perhaps I'll go back to it and play from the start.

Re: Ori Developer Signs Publishing Deal For New Action-RPG

Souldin

Q) Excited for a new action-RPG from the Ori developer?

A) I have enjoyed both of the Moon Studios games (Ori and the Blind Forest is still battling it out with ReCore for the spot of my favourite Xbox One game) and there are many Action-RPGs I enjoy so this is certainly a promising start to their next game for me.

Of course it's early days and my view could differ later on but I've had a good track record with enjoying their games and so shall naturally keep an eye out for news on this game.

Re: Grounded Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Souldin

@xMightyMatt14x It's cool; no worries. I also may have gone a tad overboard with the length of my comment.

Given I have a minimum wage job and all, I kind of have to be picky about which games I choose. I wouldn't call my view pessimistic, it's more the case that their are so many good games available but I only have the time and money for a few each year (around 12), so it's a case of trying to pick the ones I feel I would most likely end up enjoying.

@KelticDevil Yeah, it's the question at the end of this very article. I like using them as a framing device for my comment and it's polite to answer a question you've been asked.

As for why I'm here, well the Xbox One has ended up becoming my primary system after the Wii U (I have a Switch but haven't been as invested with it; Kirby Star Allies was fantastic though) and I wanted to be involved with a site where I could get the latest news on the system. I found out the other day that Pure Xbox had returned and so booted up my old account. I also like the idea of being able to discuss Xbox games; be it ones I've enjoyed or are curious about.

Re: The New Fable Will Respect The Legacy Of The Series, Says Microsoft

Souldin

Q) What are your thoughts on Playground Games leading development on the new Fable?

A) I'm generally positive about Playground Games leading their development. They are a British studio and stuff like their lego DLC in Forza Horizon show they have a good sense of humour; both of which I feel are needed to capture some of the unique charm of Fable. The quirky British humour and presentation to the world of Fable gives it a unique identity outside of just it's gameplay elements.

They also seem talented at creating large and beautiful worlds and there is certainly a positive to allowing a passionate development team to tackle new genres for them. The trailer (well, more of a teaser) and the comments made in this article have me generally confident.

Re: Grounded Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Souldin

@PretendWorking Thanks for the supportive defence; it is appreciated. It's too true that we should each enjoy our games, whatever we play and on whatever platform we play on.

@xMightyMatt14x I shouldn't worry about feeling bad for me; I get plenty of enjoyment out of my games in my spare time and through recording. An even if a let's play for my channel ends up focusing on a game I don't enjoy, that can often be made up by the humorous banter I or my co-host made. I may not have enjoyed playing the likes of say... Mega Man 2 or Legend of Kay, but they did result in an entertaining series of videos to watch afterwards. Subnautica, a game chosen by raffle rather by myself, has also resulted in some hilarious jokes... as dull as playing the game itself is.

I suppose a debate or discussion could be made regarding my philosophy of prioritising purpose in order to justify fun but you seemed to disagree with the length of my previous comment and I feel it would get rather out of hand. For me, a multi paragraph comment is the norm. I rather dislike making short comments; it feels like I never had enough to say to justify a comment in the first place if it's a measly sentence.

What I do find strange is that you seem to take issue with me responding negatively towards the game, ignoring the positives I have mentioned and disregarding the fact that the likes of trailers, previews and news articles like this are meant to inform you on whether a game might be for you or not without having to spend a good £50 to try the game out. I commented because I was on the fence about this game but the reconfirmation of details such as 'crafting' and 'base building' turn me off, details of which this article has highlighted. An ultimately, my negatives are merely personal opinion. Based on what I have learnt, I do not think this game is for me, or at least worth the plunge to test whether it is. Whether the game is bad or not is not what I'm determining here, but whether I feel I would like it.

In effect, is not discussing how the style is likeable but certain elements pointed out in the article a deterrent for me part of contributing to the details or experience of the game being discussed? My experience for what was an unreleased game was a mixture of intrigue and enjoyment based on trailers that dropped off due to revealed elements and direction.

Re: Grounded Is Now Available With Xbox Game Pass

Souldin

@RadioHedgeFund First off, thank you for asking in a respectable manner. It's natural to be puzzled as to my physical focus given Microsoft's great deal. I suppose I could narrow my decision down to 3 reasons.

1) An enjoyment of physical items - From the feel of the disc to displaying the box on my shelves alongside my other games, there is a simple charm and joy to owning a game physically. An perhaps it's an old school mentality, but I always feel more of a sense of ownership with a physical item that I lack with a digital item.

2) Supporting Retail Stores - I appreciate my nearest GAME store and the retail industry in general (hoping to get a job in retail; perhaps something specific like a tea or stationary shop) and I always like to show my support by buying games physically in-store. I know how little they make from game sales (a £1 disc care earns them more than a £50 game sale) and I avoid both digital and online purchases wherever I can in all walks of life (commissioning artists being the exception).

3) I actually forgot 3... I might have added it into 1 as I covered a broad category with that. I suppose I could count memory as my other reason as I often forget I own games if I don't seem them on my shelves. I'm not all too good with user-faces (or, ironically, technology) and the like so it's quicker and more efficient to pull a game off my shelf and insert it into the system.

Re: Here's When Grounded Goes Live On Xbox Game Pass Later Today

Souldin

Q) Will you be trying out Grounded with Xbox Game Pass later today?

A) With it's digital emphasis, Game Pass still has no interest for me so the answer is a nope.

I've been confused about the release date for a while, as no one has been mentioning a concrete or even rough release date for the finished version of the game. The Xbox Preview/Early Access release date has been thrown at times as if it was the game's proper release which is confusing.

Anyway, looking over the details mentioned, I feel I'm convinced not to get the game. I love it's style, setting and humour so much but the emphasis on base building and crafting is reminding me too much of boredom filled experience I'm currently suffering through with a Subnautica let's play (my insistence on finishing the games I play on my channel is coming back to bite me). I just don't feel confident in enjoying the gameplay, which is a shame, as the trailers always had a fun feel to it.

Re: Rare Hasn't Said Much About Everwild Because It's 'Still Playing Around With Gameplay Ideas'

Souldin

Q) Do you like the look of Everwild's latest trailer?

A) I liked the look of the game from the trailer but was unable to discern what kind of game it was. It looks lovely but a game kind of needs... gameplay. From the trailer and their constant talk of Rhythm, I was getting the impression that it could be a Rhythm game of sorts or at least incorporate it into the mechanics. The fact that I don't know and not even Rare knows according to these statements is worrying.

Q) Are you eager to find out more about the game?

A) I'm eager to find out 'anything' about this game. It seems we know nothing other than it looks pretty.

Nothing in this article has given me much hope for the project; be it the comparisons to Sea of Thieves (not my cup of tea), the god game elements and this constant talk of losing yourself in the world. The latter is a vague phrase that can be nice if I'm interpreting it correctly but I feel that to lose myself in a world I'd need a connection and enjoyment of the gameplay, not just settings/characters/story.

Re: Halo Infinite's Campaign Will Support 2-Player Split Screen, 4-Player Online

Souldin

Q) Pleased to see local co-op support return to Halo Infinite?

A) Yes; I'm hardly a big Halo player (I rather suck at FPS games) but I've had my fun with the series via co-op campaigns through Halo 1 and Halo Reach with my brother... he still hasn't forgiven me for driving us off a cliff though. If it didn't have local co-op, then I wouldn't have even considered picking it up on launch day. With local co-op confirmed, it's a potential purchase now.

Re: Guide: The Complete List Of Xbox Series X Games

Souldin

First off, thank you for making such a handy list separated by release date. Companies as of late haven't been at confirming when stuff is coming out and it helps a lot with planning and knowing what to purchase.

Q) Which Xbox Series X games are you looking forward to?

A) My top three would be Balan Wonderworld, Bright Memory Infinite and Fable... which are either 2021 or To Be Dated.

For the 2020 (and I assume launch line-up) releases, Yakuza: Like A Dragon has my interest the most as the moment and will probably be what I pick up alongside my Xbox Series X.

Right now, I'd say I'm curious about Halo Infinite, Dirt 5 and Forza Horizon 4 (didn't that one already come out; is it getting a re-release or is just a case of owning the already own game and getting it enhanced?) Halo Infinite would be quite fun to play with my brother, so it all depends on if the game has local co-op. I found the developer interview about Dirt 5 from the Inside Xbox video this year quite intriguing and the Forza Horizon games have had me curious for a while but I've never taken the plunge to buy one.

As for the rest, these ones have me curious to varying degrees: Avowed, Cris Tales, Everwild, Gods & Monsters, Scarlet Nexus, Skeletal Avenger, Song of Iron, State of Decay 3, Tunic. I need to learn more about them before considering.

Re: Dragon Quest Was One Of Phil Spencer's Favourite Moments Of The Xbox Showcase

Souldin

Q) What did you think of the latest Japanese game reveals for Xbox?

A) I've been quite pleased with the Japanese reveals from Xbox lately and I hope it continues to improve. Dragon Quest XI was a fantastic opening reveal despite it being a port and Balan Wonderworld is currently the game I'm most excited for next year (Fable could be, but we've yet to see gameplay or a release date).

Q) Are you impressed Microsoft has been able to get a series like Dragon Quest on its platform?

A) Hmmm, I'm not sure if it's an impressive feat when you consider it was the only one of the major systems to not have it yet and there was no tech issues preventing it from getting a port... but it is impressive when you consider how it is the first Dragon Quest game to feature on an Xbox system. It's a good sign for the future relationship of Xbox Series X with Japanese companies.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts On Xbox Game Pass After July's Show?

Souldin

Q) What Are Your Thoughts On Xbox Game Pass?

A) I think it's a great option for people and that Microsoft has made a great pro-consumer service here... but I have no interest in it myself. Good for those who want it but not my cup of tea.

I play my games purely on consoles and avoid digital purchases where possible so Xbox Game Pass has no appeal to me.

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Xbox Series X Games Are You Most Excited For?

Souldin

So first off, I only just found out yesterday that this website had been revived, which pleases to no end. This site was a delightful thing to check out as I was investing more time into my Xbox One and I'm glad to see it return as the Xbox Series X draws near.

Q) Which Of These Xbox Series X Games Are You Most Excited For?

A) I'm curious about each of these but the main game that has me excited is the confirmation of a new Fable. It may not of had gameplay but the reveal did have humour and a British developer behind it likely to keep that British charm throughout it.

Whether I was getting an Xbox Series X day one was dependant on Fable... so it looks like I'm getting one day one now!

Re: E3 2016: EA Originals Indie Program Launches, Kicks Off With Surreal Title 'Fe'

Souldin

Unravel was my favourite thing at EA's E3 2015 conference, and likewise, there support and showcase of a small companies game was my favourite thing about their conference for E3 2016.

Fe kind of reminds me of a 3D Ori and the Blind Forest, but with more stealth, even more puzzle solving, and less heart break. For the hopeful future where I have money, I look forward to this game!

Re: E3 2016: New Scalebound Multiplayer Footage Revealed At E3

Souldin

While I am super excited for this game, and do like what I've seen from the various trailers, I do feel that this latest trailer could have been better. Perhaps it'd have been best not to focus so much on the Drew who seemingly spent most of the fight from a distance.

Still, it's nice to see the game running a lot smoother than before, and quite impressively given the amount of huge characters about on screen. Still liking the designs, still liking the combat, still liking the characters; so I'm overall still looking forward to this game!

Re: E3 2016: ReCore Given Release Date and New Trailer

Souldin

Oh gosh, why does it come out 13th September 2016!? That is way too soon for me! Please let me get a job before then, this trailer has sent this game from a maybe to a definite want!

I love how despite the setting being a desert with various seemingly abandoned factories, that everything still manages to come across as vibrant. The action looks fun, I like the dashing mechanic that Joule has, as well as her robot companions. I was not expecting there to be platforming, but there certainly looks to be, and it looks as fun as the rest of the game.

Re: E3 2016: We Happy Few Sets it's Sadistic Smile on Xbox One Game Preview

Souldin

You know, I wouldn't exactly refer to the above video as a gameplay video. I mean, it's in game, but it didn't really show off the conformity, stealth and combat that this game is said to have for it's gameplay.

Regardless, I did love the trailer at Microsoft's conference. We Happy Few has truly nailed the creepy atmosphere, and it is definitely a game I'll be keeping an eye on.

Re: E3 2016: Halo Wars 2 Release Date Announced

Souldin

A February 21st, 2017 release date proves quite irritating for me. I was planning on getting it for my oldest brother as a Christmas present, given he was a big fan of the original Halo Wars. Now I'll have to get it for him for his 2017 Birthday... provided he doesn't try to buy it before July.

Ah well, at least next year's birthday present is all sorted out. Now I just need to think of what to get him for this year's and Christmas.

Re: So Long, And Thanks for All the Clicks

Souldin

'So, it's with great sadness that myself and the management team have decided that this is the final post and that as of now, Pure Xbox is closed.'

Wait... What!? This is sudden... and terrible news. I may not be a big long-term Xbox fan, I've only really started getting invested in the brand with my purchase of an Xbox One, but I absolutely love this site.

The recent E3 livestream made this ever more apparent to me, as I had the most fun watching the conferences when it was alongside the live chat featuring staff members and fellow readers of this site. The articles have always been great, and in having an Xbox One, this site has been my go to place for reviews and news regarding the system. To hear that this great site, through which I even received a copy of Project Spark, is closing... it is truly saddening.

I want to thank all of the staff members of Pure Xbox for giving me a wonderful readership experience. For the great articles, reviews, news updates, streams, and competitions. I doubt I'll ever forget the What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? articles, which is easily one of the best ideas any video news outlet has come up with. Thank you very much Pure Xbox, and I'm sorry to hear the news of this sudden closure.

I'd also like to thank my fellow readers and members, it's been real fun reading your comments and conversing with you.

Re: E3 2016: Microsoft Conference Day Contest!

Souldin

@SuperKMx Thank you for the quick reply!

I'm not a huge fan of digital copies, but they are free, and I've thankfully got an external hard drive now. So much wonderful free space! It's nice not having to worry about whether I have spare data or not.

So good luck to everyone!

Re: E3 2016: Microsoft Conference Day Contest!

Souldin

It's great to see so many competitions from Pure Xbox as of late. It provides a great opportunity for us, and is nice just to enter, even when you ultimately don't win anything. I have a partial interest in quite a few of the games listed within this competition, and will gladly take this opportunity to try and win any of them.

Two quick questions; first of all, are these physical or digital copies of the games?

Secondly, if you are already subscribed to the Pure Xbox YouTube channel, are you able to click on that subscribe to the Pure Xbox YouTube channel option?

Re: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 107

Souldin

I shall be playing Kirby: Planet Robobot... just that. I could possibly record some more Fallout 4 footage on Sunday, but that will most likely wait until I've finished watching E3. With E3 fast approaching, I doubt I'll have enough energy to do anything but play Kirby: Planet Robobot... oh, and make the opinion/discussion video about E3 for my YouTube channel.

@SuperKMx Sorry to hear that all the E3 news is keeping you from playing games... which is rather ironic when you think about it. I hope you have fun with what game time you manage to get in.

@DRL @Justin5267 My focus this weekend is also on Kirby: Planet Robobot. I'm hoping to get plenty of game time in before the many sleepless nights of watching E3 presentations begins.

Re: Injustice 2 Officially Confirmed, New Trailer Revealed

Souldin

I never ended up getting the original game for a multitude of reasons (lack of Martain Manhunter in the base game, lack of an ultimate version for the Wii U, not being a fan of the Mortal Kombat series gameplay) but I'll keep my options open and consider this game a maybe. I do like super heroes and I do like fighting games, and the addition of Supergirl and (according to the article) Gorilla Grodd pleases me.

Another reason I'm interested in this game is through watching Comicstorian's videos on the Injustice comic series. They seem like wonderful comics from the summaries and in turn interest me in the game series.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 Release Date Just Got Leaked

Souldin

I had a surprising amount of fun with Watch Dogs. It had it's problems, but it was different from the usual games I play and using camera's to blow up enemies without ever being spotted is super satisfying.

A release date later this year is a little bit annoying, but hopefully I'll have a job by then and some extra income. I'd prefer to get it on the Wii U, as that is what I played the original Watch Dogs on, but I'm somewhat doubting this will release on Wii U.That means it'll be an Xbox One purchase... I'll just have to decide if I'd rather have this or Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 this year... if I have the money spare to even buy either of them.

I agree with what you say, @RustyBullet. The original game was nice, but it had plenty of areas it could improve on, which hopefully will happen with this sequel.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 106

Souldin

For this weekend I shall be playing Star Fox Guard and nothing but Star Fox Guard. Well, I've been considering playing Punch-Out or Wii Fit U in the mornings while I wait for my video to upload, so I might try testing that out this weekend. Otherwise, this weekend is devoted to Star Fox Guard.

Then during the weekdays, I shall most certainly continue my trend of playing Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX every Monday. I shall also see about playing some Bravely Second before the release of Kirby Planet Robobot takes over my 3DS and refuses to leave. I shall likely be recording more footage for my YouTube channel, which means more Fallout 4, and I shall try and play some Star Fox Guard amidst all of this.

Re: Indie Developers Crowdfunding New Fable Game for Xbox One

Souldin

It is sadly not a kickstarter for Fable Legends, Fable 4, or a spiritual successor to either of those games... I am totally going to back this though. I love the Fable IP, I love trading cards games, and I want to support this new studio. The game also looks a lot of fun, which is usually the best reason to help kickstart a game.

At this moment in time though, I don't have much in the way of funds. I'm going to start by backing this a little, and if I manage to land a job this month, then increase my backing. As noted, it may not be the Fable Legends game that made me want an Xbox One (alongside Sunset Overdrive and Ori and the Blind Forest), but it certainly looks like a fun game utilising a franchise I appreciate.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 105

Souldin

Saturday was spent applying for jobs, so I sadly didn't get much time to play games. Today I hope to have a bit of free time to play some Star Fox Guard, and for the rest of the week my gaming schedule will consist of it, Bravely Second: End Layer, and Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX.

I may also start making Punch-Out and/or Wii Fit U a regular gaming occurrence. I could do with losing some weight and it'd give me something to do when I wake up at 5 in the morning to start uploading my Fallout IV playthrough videos and feed my cat. Speaking of which, my brother and I will also be recording some more Fallout IV for our YouTube channel, so that is also part of the gaming schedule.

@DRL I love Pokémon Puzzle League, as well as the Puzzle League series overall. Glad to hear you're enjoying the game, amongst others.

@flameboy84 I've still yet to get around to playing my copy of Gravity Rush Remastered. By the time my younger brother purchased a PS4, my backlog had built up quite a bit. Even after I get through my current line-up of games, I've got a couple more I plan on purchasing next month. It likely means I won't be getting around to trying out Gravity Rush until the latter half of the year, but hopefully I'll enjoy it when that time comes.

Re: Brand New: Issue 9 - The Crazy Eight New Games

Souldin

Funny enough, I recently read an article about Microids in my Retro Gamer magazine that I recently started purchasing. They mentioned they were working on Syberia 3; it looks lovely, but likely not my sort of game.

In fact, none of the games this week appeal to me all that much. Not that it would matter though, I'm rather scarce on money outside of the 3-4 games I already plan on purchasing this year.

Re: Bandai Namco Announces Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Xbox One

Souldin

I passed on the last game due to a declining interest in Dragon Ball Z (and a growing love for the original Dragon Ball) and how I feel that there still hasn't been a Dragon Ball Z game as good as Dragon Ball Z: Budokia Tenkaichi 3. Last year though, I did end up watching a playthrough of Dragon Ball Xenoverse by Team Four Star, and whilst the game didn't seem amazing; it certainly did seem fun.

So I may pick this game up, though it depends on what other games are coming out towards the end of the year, and how a playthrough of the first game might affect this sequel. As such, I'm listing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as a 'maybe' for now.

Re: Worms W.M.D Gets New Multiplayer Trailer

Souldin

Whilst I do like Worms, what I've seen in this trailer doesn't appear to give me much reason to purchase this game over simply continuing to play Worms Battlegrounds. The vehicular combat looks entertaining, and the stages look a little more varied, but I'm not a huge fan of the artstyle.

Honestly, whilst I do prefer the gameplay of 2D Worms, I think it'd be nice if they tried making another 3D Worms. It was also entertaining, and would be a nice way of freshening things up a bit before returning to and refining the 2D Worms gameplay. Alternatively, I agree with @stylon that it'd be nice for Team 17 to focus on one of their other IPs for a bit.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 104

Souldin

I remember there being more people featured within these articles before; I'm quite surprised to see only three. In any case, my gaming plans for now are my continued efforts to play the games within my backlog... many of which are recent additions. I recently finished Pokkén Tournament, and have been continuing my playthrough of Bravely Second: End Layer. Alongside that, I plan to play more of Star Fox Guard, and have made plans to play a bit of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX every Monday. It turns out that your chosen Vocaloid gets angry if you've not played in a while.

@Red620Ti I was interested in picking up South Park: The Stick of Truth, what with being a fan of turn based RPGs, but ultimately never did. I'm glad to hear that it is available through the Xbox One's backwards compatibility, so that if I do decide to pick it up in future, I can play it on my Xbox One rather than my brother's Xbox 360.

Ah, this gives me fond memories of when I won Project Spark through this website. I had only recently joined the website at the time, and had done so as I had plans to purchase an Xbox One once a bundle that appealed to me came along. It just so happens that such a bundle did when a crystal white Xbox One with Sunset Overdrive was announced.

So I shall test my luck once again by entering this competition.

Re: Quantum Break Glitches Into Top Spot on UK Retail Chart

It's nice to hear Quantum Break is doing well; I look forward to getting around to playing it. Gaming wise, I wish to finish off Pokkén Tournament's single player campaign before I start playing Quantum Break, but with a heap of additional tasks to take care of, I'm unsure if that'll be this week or next week I get around to it.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Ninety Eight

Souldin

On Saturday, I spent the day sorting out my game data on my Xbox One, as I've finally obtained and set up an external hard drive for it. I also spent the day installing Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Arslan: The Warriors of Legend so I don't have to deal with that waiting time when I want to start playing them.

As for today though, whilst I do want to start playing Quatum Break, as well as continue to juggle Pokkén Tournament and Bravely Second: End Layer, I probably won't have much time for them today. Today was decided to be a recording day, and so my younger brother and I will be playing Fallout IV. He'll be the one playing, and I'll be the one trying to steer him onto completing the main story before we reach over 60 episodes worth of footage.

@Red620Ti I hope to be playing Quantum Break at some point soon as well. I'm just wondering if I should complete all of Pokkén Tournament's main story first before doing so.

Oh, and good luck with that backlog. Mine has been building up quite a bit as well, not helped by the majority of games I want this year being set for release in the first half of the year. I certainly wouldn't be able to resist popping into a newly opened toy story, which sadly doesn't happen within my area.

Re: Out This Week: Quantum Break, DiRT Rally, TRON RUN/r

Naturally, as I've already purchased it, the new release I'm most interested in this week is Quantum Break. I have now thankfully sorted out my external hard drive at long last, so I shall hopefully be playing it soon.

The PX livestream on Tuesday has me quite pumped up for the game, so amongst my backlog of games (built up as I had no room left for them), it is probably going to be my priority.

Is the Shantae and the Pirate's Curse livestream running late? I'm on the Pure Xbox channel, but it has yet to pop up.

I'm just asking to make sure that it isn't a problem with my computer/YouTube. I really enjoyed the Quantum Break stream and I'm looking forward to watching the Shantae and the Pirate's Curse stream.

Edit: Not to worry, I've just seen the twitter update on this site regarding the live stream.

Re: pXLive: YouTube Gaming Schedule - 05/04 to 10/04

Well, on the one hand, I don't want to spoil too much of Quantum Break before I get around to playing it. On the other hand, I'll have to wait a bit before I get to play Quantum Break despite having just purchased it. An on that same exact hand, I do tend to enjoy watching streams.

I think I'll watch an hour or so of this stream, see what it is like, and enjoy myself without spoiling too much of the game for myself. If I enjoy tonight's stream, I'll consider watching the others, particularly the Shantae and the Pirate's Curse stream.

Re: Review: Quantum Break (Xbox One)

Souldin

So the game isn't very long, but it is enjoyable. I think I can live with that; shorter games can be enjoyable on the grounds that you'll actually end up completing them the same year you got them. I also have a feeling that I'll end up spending most of my time trying to track down these extra's, ensuring that I'm not missing out on any of the story and background as I progress.

I overall enjoyed the review and appreciated what it was able to inform me about the game. It does seem a shame that you get all your time powers so early on, but I actually like how the choices from the villain's side don't have too much of an impact; it'll prevent me worrying about said choice for hours before deciding. Quantum Break is a game I'll definitely be picking up, having already pre-ordered, but won't be playing straight away.

I'm still lacking an external hard drive. I likely have the money to obtain one, but my attempt to get one for my Wii U didn't go well, and I don't exactly have a consistent income right now. It is all rather annoying. As I'm unlikely to be playing this game straight away, I may join in watching this pX streaming of yours, @DesiccantOwl.

Re: Experience Inc. Bringing More Titles to Xbox One

Hearing that a Japanese company plan on supporting the Xbox One with one of my favourite genre's; Turn Based RPGs, is very pleasing.

I've heard their next game is supposed to be a strategy JRPG, in the vein of the Shinning Force and Fire Emblem games. I'm not a huge fan of strategy JRPG games, although this is primarily because I'm not very good at them. I do remember enjoying Final Fantasy Tactics, which was also part of that sub-genre, so I may still give it a shot when it arrives.
