Q) Looking forward to some all-new Dragon Ball action?
A) Whilst I love the unique concept for a Dragon Ball game, my lack of online on my Xbox Series X kind of derails any plans to get this sort of game. It's a shame as it looks neat and ties into Xenoverse 2 from what I hear... it does tempt me to boot Xenoverse 2 back up and for the first time on my Xbox Series X.
The 3 Dead or Alive games and Gunvalkyrie have my interest (well, I've played DOA 4 so I know I like that one). I'll have to give a look into the others and see they tickle my fancy.
Hopefully I can find some of these physically so I can just pop them into my Series X and play that way. Lovely to see so many announced at once!
Q) Looking forward to Bright Memory: Infinite on Xbox Series X|S?
A) Oh very much so, and in seeing that the main criticism is one that doesn't bother me a bit (it's short length), my excitement has only gone on to increase in reading this article. I look forward to the upcoming Xbox Series X release... though I wish I knew when.
Also, this was such a great line - "Absolutely none of it makes sense, but who cares when I just launched an ancient sword-wielding statue dude in the air and cut him into pieces."
A) Less so intrigued now and more so eager; I had a ton of fun with Bright Memory and this looks like more of it but even better. The action is thrilling and fast-paced with numerous skills being thrown out.
The boss fight with Tian Yu seemed a touch lengthy (tanking a few too many bullets there) but the flow of combat otherwise looked great with plenty of synergy. I so hope to play this on my Xbox Series X before Christmas time hits.
A) I will be playing Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water. I haven't been able to progress too far into the game due to my new job and it's better to play a horror game in the dead of night. This means only one or two levels before bed but boy does it go well with the atmosphere of the game to play it in the dark.
Q) Excited for the release of Bright Memory: Infinite?
A) Very much so and I'm so glad to get a release date... even if it's just for the PC version. It seems to indicate that it won't be too long for the Xbox Series X version so I'm guessing a late November-early December release. That's perfect as my original last game of the year before Christmas got delayed so this will fill in that spot nicely.
Trailer looks awesome and the way it appears to smoothly transition to fighting on a plane is an exhilarating sequence of events. I've got to say though, I think Shelia and Wade are a bit overworked.
A) I ultimately didn't get the game but the trailers did have quite an interesting premise and the graphical style was quite pleasing. Their ended up being other games I preferred getting that year and I hear the rogue-like elements ended up being detrimental to the story aspect of We Happy Few.
Q) Excited for this next release?
A) That said, what has already been mentioned about Compulsion Game's next project seems to be a improvement. It sounds like it's not going to be as open and thus not hindering their narrative strengths (again, only from what I've heard regarding We Happy Few). Third person is also more appealing to me than First Person, so this next project has certainly got me curious. I look forward to when they show it off.
Q) What are your thoughts on these new Avowed details?
A) I feel mostly excited about them, particularly the comment of "it's expected to be much more colourful", as I do like Obsidian's sense of humour but have a preference for fantastic settings (such as Avowed) over sci-fi (such as Outer Worlds). I'm still holding out hope for the ability to play in third person will be their, but everything else for me seems pretty positive.
It'll certainly be cool if we get to see it's gameplay in December so here's hoping.
Q) Do you think we'll see any of these games made backwards compatible this November?
A) I've no idea if they will but I'd love it if they did. I got into the DOA series through Dead or Alive 4 as my Xbox 360 launch game and I've been eager to try out the earlier entries. This would be a perfect way.
Gunvalkyrie also looks pretty cool so it has my curiosity.
Q) Would you like to see Kena: Bridge of Spirits join Xbox?
A) More vibrant, family-friendly games hitting the Xbox Series X is always a good thing and it does look pretty neat.
I hear it's also a somewhat short game which is just my cup of tea. I'll be keeping an ear out on news as to whether this release on Xbox in the future.
A) Oh yes, very much so; although I will admit that I've been concerned about the lack of a release date. It's interesting to hear that it is still set for a 2021 release as I've been expecting to hear news of a delay for a while now. Hopefully it won't come out too close to the release of Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water as they'll otherwise be competing for my time, but otherwise, hopeful to play this game this year.
A) A funny thing to be asked on an Xbox site, but for me, my favourite GameCube game is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It sits comfortably among my top 10 favourite games of all time as well.
Eternal Darkness is a game I'm aware of but never played; it is a uniquely cool choice to see from Phil Spencer.
Q) Would you be interested in a 500GB Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S?
A) As I rarely download games but would like a storage option for when my Xbox Series X inevitably runs out of space, this might be a better choice for me than 1TB option for now. So yeah, I think I would be interested.
I don't need to move over all my Xbox One games just yet and something that doesn't hit my wallet so hard in a single instance would be appreciated given my money concerns until I get a more stable job.
Q) Interested in picking up the new 20th Anniversary Duke controller for Xbox?
A) Oh gosh yes; I adored the Duke controller I got for the Xbox One and used it for ages. Most of my Soulcalibur VI playtime was with it and I found it surprisingly comfortable to use.
I only stopped because it suffered from Drift and I was unable to find a replacement and sending things off for repairs is always a nervous experience unless it's someone you can trust. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on one of these, particularly as it does have the additional share button to make use of.
A) I did not; work has been super busy as of late, as it tends to in trying to finish building work before the Summer Holidays end. I have been keeping an eye out for gaming news coming out from it though and I see a couple or so articles to read through later from this list.
I will say though, I did misread your last bullet point as "Forza Horizon 5 hover cars revealed" rather than cover cars and the former would be far more exciting.
A) Intrigued would be a good way to describe my thoughts on it. I like the visual design and the music throughout the trailer was lovely; a touch upbeat whilst still having a strong mystique and adventure vibe to it.
'Huge overworld' concerns me for fear of it being a more open and less linear experience (not my cup of tea) but as said, I am intrigued and shall keep an eye out for more news on it.
Q) Are you looking forward to Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water?
A) I am very much looking forward to re-experiencing this game and the enhancements on the Xbox Series X will be appreciated. It's a nice bit of news to go along with the reveal of all the new costumes added in to the game, and along with lots of interview info from the producer of the series as of late, I'm feeling particularly hyped up to play this.
I do wonder how large it's file size will be though. The only other game I'll have downloaded this year will be Bright Memory Infinite (I hope; it's been a bit quiet on it's exact release date) so I should have plenty of room on my Xbox Series X.
Q) Will you be checking out Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water?
A) Oh, absolutely! Whilst I'm disappointed at the lack of a physical release and I don't think any upgrade will be able to make up for the lack of a Wii U gamepad (such a perfect fit for the game), I do still look forward to re-experiencing this fantastic game again.
I imagine it'll look even more incredible on my Xbox Series X and the plentiful new costumes look great. The photo mode looks like a good bit of fun and I hope supporting the series will help lead to more entries and/or re-releases of the older games. It was my favourite announcement from E3 this year and I'm really hyped for it.
Q) Are you excited for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water?
A) I already own this game on Wii U... but I love it so much that this is likely the rare time that I double-dip; particularly as it's nice to show more niche franchises like this some support. I'd be more than happy to snap photos of ghosts with Yuri once again, though this time on an Xbox Series X.
Given the bonus costumes were Nintendo themed, I'm curious as to what the replacements will be; the original bikini outfits or Microsoft themed ones?
I'm probably going to have to say a D at best. There wasn't a whole lot that interested me specifically (though a few things did look cool even if they didn't personallly appeal to me and I had some hysterical moments from the wit and humour on show).
I think there were only 3 games that had me personally excited; Slime Rancher 2, Party Animals and that RPG whose name keeps alluding to me. Nothing in 2021 though which is a shame and the two games I most wanted to see, Fable and Avowed, were merely mentioned at the event.
I ultimately think this presentation could have been better, well, presented. Too many trailers and not enough gameplay exploration with commentary alongside it. Ubisoft did a far better job with their presentation, even if their games were even less appealing to me.
Q) Are you hoping to see any of the games and series on this list featured at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase?
A) Fable and Avowed are the two Xbox 1st Party games I'm most interested in, so it will be a real shame if neither one is present. Not a 1st party game, but the only other Microsoft systems exclusive that has my attention right now is Bright Memory: Infinite. The other exclusives are more curiosities right now (though more shown could sway me).
Hey though; maybe a new game announced will appeal to me. I'll hope so in the case that Jeff here is correct.
Q) How Would You Grade Today's Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 Event?
A) A tough question to answer. Whilst there was little to nothing that appealed to me, I found the overall presentation to be solid with a good mix of trailer, developer interview and gameplay. Each game shown had a decent bit of attention to it.
So whilst the lack of games for me does lower it's standing in my eyes, I would ultimately say the style and presentation for it is enough for me to rank it amongst the three higher grades.
Q) Will you be checking out the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night sequel?
A) Absolutely; loved the first game and I look forward to hearing more of it's sequel. This early announcement is a bit strange though as you would think they'd wait until they had at least something to tease about it.
Q) What do you think about Naka's alleged departure from Square Enix?
A) As someone who has enjoyed Yuji Naka's work, including Balan Wonderworld (currently doing a co-op playthrough with my brother on our YouTube channel), this is disappointing news to hear. Unsurprising given the (overly) harsh reception this game received, but disappointing to hear all the same.
This also means Balan Wonderworld is very unlikely to receive a new game, which is a real shame as despite enjoying the game a lot, I could still think of plenty to add or tweak to improve it.
Q) Are you excited for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night sequel?
A) Very much so; I adored Bloodstained. I have very little experience with Castlevania (only played Castlevania 64) but I liked the look of Bloodstained, noticed it being promoted at one of Xbox's events, and purchased it. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the game. Great designs, characters, NPCs, gameplay; an absolute ton of fun.
So yeah, if a sequel is coming out then I'll be keeping my eye out for it. I still need to revisit it at some point to play all it's extra content that has been added since and a sequel announcement would certainly get me in the mood.
Q) What do you think about the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog game?
A) So far, nothing has particularly grabbed me or got my interested. I suppose I've been believing too much in the speculation of a Sonic Adventure remake/3, so the outcome here (which doesn't look like either of those possibilities) seems a bit disappointing.
Also, mentioning open-world tends to do a good job of killing my enthusiasm. I'll keep an open mind but I'll need to learn a lot more about this 2022 Sonic game before I'd become interested in it.
A) Definitely; this translates to 6PM for me which is a fantastic time. I can be well rested and well prepared to react to it.
Q) Looking forward to Xbox's E3 2021 conference?
A) I'm looking forward to E3 in general but of course the biggest ones of Microsoft and Nintendo have my attention the most. I look forward to hopefully hearing of some more specific release date announcements for the many projects they currently have in the works. An I'll be ecstatic to see some first gameplay footage of the upcoming Fable (or is that too soon to hope).
Lovely to see the Bomberman series continue to get plenty of love; a rare thing to receive from Konami these days.
That said, whilst somewhat tempting, I don't think I'll be picking up this free-to-play and online focused entry (those aspects are usually not my cup of tea). My big hope is for a Bomberman game with a big adventure mode component like Bomberman 64 or Generations, but regardless of whether that happens, I'm happy to see the series receive new games on consoles.
@mousieone I don't think YouTube links are against PureXbox policies (apologies if they are) but I just wanted to send you the link to my Balan Wonderworld playthrough which has just begun uploading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBfUSJUvB8A
It's a co-op playthrough with my brother which makes for some rather unique approaches to the levels. I hope you enjoy it.
Q) Do you think a potential Sunset Overdrive 2 could ever make its way to Xbox?
A) PC is a possibility but I doubt we'll see a Sunset Overdrive 2 pop up on Xbox Series X... which is a real shame as I had a blast with the game. I didn't buy an Xbox One until it came out, getting the crystal white Xbox One with Sunset Overdrive downloaded onto it.
I love the flow of the game and the combined platforming + shooting felt great. It was a ton of fun striking down hoards, the tower defence mechanics were lovely and the style and humour were fantastic. My only major compliant was that it's fun and crazy protagonist had too much personality; didn't gel well with the create-a-character approach.
I've played Bright Memory and had a really fun time with it; even recorded it with my brother and made the playthrough our Christmas Special for 2020 (first Xbox Series X recording on our channel). It is extremely short, even for someone who prefers shorter experiences like myself, but it's a mostly solid experience in that short time (the one hiccup being a flash-bang scene with very little cover) with an excellent feel to it's shooting and upgrades.
I'm very much looking forward too Bright Memory: Infinite!
A) I think others have hit the nail on the head with it being a case of Sony unable to provide stock whilst Microsoft have been far more sufficient in that regard. I don't recall any recent game releases or news that would effect the situation otherwise.
On this comment section's discussion of the Nintendo Switch, I will admit that I'm not as big of a fan of the system as I was of previous Nintendo systems such as the Wii U, Wii, 3DS and DS. The joy-cons feel a tad too small, HD Rumble is underutilised and the Nintendo games haven't been quite as appealing to me as of late (the phenomenal Kirby Star Allies aside). It has offered me plenty of enjoyable gaming experiences such as Gal*Gun 2, Nexomon: Extinction and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, but with a weaker HUD and features to it's predecessor (lack of Miiverse in particular hurts), my thoughts on the games often boil down to wanting to play them on the Xbox Series X instead. Switch releases usually only end up taking priority for me as a result of receiving physical copies, otherwise my system of choice now is the Xbox Series X.
Q) What Konami projects do you think we might hear about in the coming months?
A) Hearing Konami are making a game at all is a surprise these days, let alone the specific game. Most of their recent gaming output has been collections, which I could see them doing more of. There are plenty of IPs they haven't covered with their collections so it's an easy thing for them to do.
Given the Netflix series popularity, I could see them having had a Castlevania game in development for a while (games take time after all). It could work out pretty well for them if it comes out in time of the final season.
I'm a bit late to say this but Happy Birthday, Daniel.
Q) What Xbox games are you playing this weekend?
A) As for me, the Xbox game this weekend was Balan Wonderworld and it will likely be the case for many more weekends as my brother and I have started recording our playthrough of it. Co-op changes up how you approach the game quite a bit.
I'm not sure if I'll play any other Xbox-based games for a while... a part of me wants to dip back into Dead or Alive 5: Last Round and I've been meaning to return to both ReCore and Code Vein at some point. I'm unsure when my next new Xbox purchase will be though (I assume Bright Memory: Infinite) but a concrete release date hasn't happened yet).
Q) Do you think we'll see The House of the Dead: Remake on Xbox this year?
A) @carlos82 basically said my answer to this question, but to add on to that, it's very hard to determine whether any game will still keep to it's release date target given the effects of Covid are still being felt. So I'm pretty sure we won't see a release for the game on Xbox Series X this year.
If it does come out on Xbox Series X though... that gives me a difficult decision as to whether to purchase the game on it or Switch. The Xbox Series X is my preferred system but the Switch version is likely to have motion control aiming. Well, I probably won't decide on a purchasing decision until I hear whether it's physical or not, so that question can simmer in my head for a while.
Q) Would you still buy an Xbox with Xbox Game Pass in 2021?
A) Given I own an Xbox Series X and have never owned Game Pass, I'm going to put that down as a yes.
Unless Game Pass plan an update where they will ship out each of these games physically to me, I somewhat doubt I will ever own it. I can certainly see the appeal of it and I approve of Xbox's generosity with it but my preference is for physical games and I'm not in the sort of financial situation where I can ensure a subscription service (be it monthly or yearly). I'm more than happy with Xbox Series X even without Game Pass though, so no worries from me.
A) Oh yes; I missed it not being a thing last year. It's a yearly treat to watch, record, react and enjoy it with a large pizza to snack on. It also is super helpful in forming my game purchases and Birthday/Christmas presents (both for myself and others).
More news on the upcoming Fable would be very much appreciated and I look forward to potential new reveals to grab my interest.
Q) Are you happy to see Xbox backing E3 this year?
A) Very much so. Naturally Xbox is one of the main gaming companies I keep an eye on so it is great to have it reveal more info alongside other companies I keep an eye on. E3 is great for that; a consistent event and time to receive info from numerous companies makes it easier to plan ahead and be able to watch and read up about it.
A) This weekend has been a bit busy, but throughout most of the week I've played Balan Wonderworld. I'll probably play it a bit more at the start of the week and then juggle in some other games... until my brother and I start our recorded playthrough of Balan Wonderworld. Not sure whether to just have my brother play it or try and sort out the controllers for co-op.
It seems to be an unsurprising turn of events for me but I'm once again a fan of a game that others don't seem too keen on. Whilst I can understand some points raised, the game is quite on the easy side and the repetition of Balan Bouts becomes annoying after a while, I disagree with many aspects of the review and found this game to be a very enjoyable experience.
The main point I disagree with is 'Cumbersome controls', given that I found the game an incredibly smooth to play experience; far more so than say... Crash Bandicoot 4 whom is mentioned in this review. In Balan Wonderworld, I felt confident with my jumps and being able to judge what I could do and where I could land.
I also appreciate the more subtle storytelling and themes of the game, never bogging me down with it but allowing me to indulge and theorise if I want to. It's an approach I prefer over something like Omori, which is a game that interests me but it's deep dive into it's themes ultimately turn me away.
At the end though, a review is an opinion and whilst I disagree with the opinion of this review, I do feel it is a well written review. It's to the point and does have plenty of comparisons for each matter.
@mousieone I managed to get the game on Xbox Series X in the end, though I wasn't able to cancel the Switch version. Luckily, it's a good child friendly platformer so I've decided to give it as a Birthday present to my nephew.
An yeah, my brother seems up to playing it on the channel, so after our current Knack 2 let's play has finished uploading, we'll starting a Balan Wonderworld playthrough. That should begin sometime in May, so I'll a note and tell you when we do.
Q) Have you started playing Balan Wonderworld yet?
A) Yep, been playing it since I got it on Friday and have played it throughout this weekend. I've almost completed the story and started receiving a ton of diamond achievements after getting to Act 6. If the 0.0% is to be believed, I appear one of the first people on the Xbox platforms to get over 50 costumes.
Q) What do you make of it?
A) I have really enjoyed my time with it. It's a relaxing game with comfortable controls, wonderful designs and environments I actually enjoy exploring (as a linear game fan; this is rare). It's a simple game but I found that to be quite a charming aspect and the enemy encounters have steadily improved.
That said, I certainly wouldn't give it a 10/10 like those reviews highlighted have given it. The sheer amount of Balan Bouts they throw at you in the latter half of the game already brings it down a score. I'd currently say a 7/10 or 8/10 but who knows what may happen in the last two acts + final boss battle.
An easy call to make, as out of those three, I've only played The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I do recall having a decent time with it... but then again, I also recall it having co-op but everything I've looked up online about it seems to suggest it never had co-op.
It was a long time ago so my memory is a tad blurry.
A) For Xbox games, I've been playing Balan Wonderworld since last night and have continued to play it pretty much since I woke up. I've cleared the first six acts but this is also the kind of the game that encourages a lot of backtracking once you've got more powers/outfits. Seeing the diamond achievements I've gotten so far, it seems I'm speeding ahead of other Xbox players of this game.
I doubt I'll play anything but Balan Wonderworld this weekend, but if I do, it'll probably be a bit of Nexomon: Extinction on my Switch or a teensy bit of Pokémon Diamond Version on my DS (the latter for my playthrough based story I write in my spare time).
A) With an artstyle reminding me of a Vanillaware game, a race that look like the Crystal Chronicles Lilties, and turn based combat, I can certainly say I'm interested in this game. I look forward to learning more about this game, and if it continues to interest me, hope for a physical release.
I will not be adding Banjo-Kazooie amiibo to my own amiibo shrine but I did purchase one as a Christmas present for a friend (a late Christmas present admittedly). It was far easier to get a hold of than the Monster Hunter amiibo's I wanted to buy for my eldest brother; they disappeared within seconds of becoming available online.
Q) What grade would you give the March 2021 Xbox Indie Showcase?
A) I'm undecided between a C grade or a D grade. I feel the format could do with some improvement and I was left with only games that intrigued me rather than convinced me of a purchase. Yeah, I think I'll go for a D grade due to it's sheer length and lack of information on a lot of games (and too much on a couple others).
A) I watched an hour's worth of it but the showcase was so long that there was no way I was going to find time to watch it all. Thanks for the summary post here so I can see what I missed.
Q) What did you think?
A) The format could do with some improvements. Many games were included in a sizzle reel or had trailers which didn't explain enough whilst the odd game had too much time dedicated to it and dragged in. I don't plan to get Hello Neighbour 2 but I will praise it as the most informative trailer there whilst still being quite swift.
On the whole, I spotted a handful of games that intrigued me; Omno, Little Witch in the Woods, Space Club, Dark Alliance, Death's Door and most certainly Astria Ascending.
Q) Are you picking up Balan Wonderworld this weekend?
A) Already picked it up; my copy arrived and on the Xbox Series X. I look forward to playing this, though it's a shame that such an issue wasn't addressed prior to the release of the game.
Admittedly, I don't know anyone who doesn't have an online connection nowadays. I can understand not playing games online (I don't; it's a tad expensive for someone without consistently regular work), but my console is still connected to the base internet for updates and such. Again though, really should have been an issue sorted before sending the discs out.

Re: Dragon Ball: The Breakers Adopts The 'Dead By Daylight' Formula, Heading To Xbox In 2022
Q) Looking forward to some all-new Dragon Ball action?
A) Whilst I love the unique concept for a Dragon Ball game, my lack of online on my Xbox Series X kind of derails any plans to get this sort of game. It's a shame as it looks neat and ties into Xenoverse 2 from what I hear... it does tempt me to boot Xenoverse 2 back up and for the first time on my Xbox Series X.
Re: Power On: The Story Of Xbox Is A Six-Part Documentary Releasing This December
Q) Let us know in the comments if you're looking forward to checking it Power On out when it arrives?
A) I do enjoy my video game history so yes, I'm very much looking forward to this documentary series.
Re: Xbox Adds 76 Games To Backwards Compatibility Including TimeSplitters, Max Payne & Star Wars
Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Are Saying About Bright Memory: Infinite
Q) Looking forward to Bright Memory: Infinite on Xbox Series X|S?
A) Oh very much so, and in seeing that the main criticism is one that doesn't bother me a bit (it's short length), my excitement has only gone on to increase in reading this article. I look forward to the upcoming Xbox Series X release... though I wish I knew when.
Also, this was such a great line - "Absolutely none of it makes sense, but who cares when I just launched an ancient sword-wielding statue dude in the air and cut him into pieces."
Re: Video: Bright Memory: Infinite Is Looking Promising In New Gameplay
Q) Intrigued by Bright Memory: Infinite?
A) Less so intrigued now and more so eager; I had a ton of fun with Bright Memory and this looks like more of it but even better. The action is thrilling and fast-paced with numerous skills being thrown out.
The boss fight with Tian Yu seemed a touch lengthy (tanking a few too many bullets there) but the flow of combat otherwise looked great with plenty of synergy. I so hope to play this on my Xbox Series X before Christmas time hits.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 6-7)
Q) What Xbox games are you playing this weekend?
A) I will be playing Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water. I haven't been able to progress too far into the game due to my new job and it's better to play a horror game in the dead of night. This means only one or two levels before bed but boy does it go well with the atmosphere of the game to play it in the dark.
Re: Bright Memory: Infinite Launches This November For PC, But No Xbox Date Yet
Q) Excited for the release of Bright Memory: Infinite?
A) Very much so and I'm so glad to get a release date... even if it's just for the PC version. It seems to indicate that it won't be too long for the Xbox Series X version so I'm guessing a late November-early December release. That's perfect as my original last game of the year before Christmas got delayed so this will fill in that spot nicely.
Trailer looks awesome and the way it appears to smoothly transition to fighting on a plane is an exhilarating sequence of events. I've got to say though, I think Shelia and Wade are a bit overworked.
Re: Xbox's Compulsion Games Is Working On A New Third-Person Single-Player Game
Q) What did you think of We Happy Few?
Re: New Report Reveals Lots Of Details On Xbox Exclusive RPG Avowed
Q) What are your thoughts on these new Avowed details?
A) I feel mostly excited about them, particularly the comment of "it's expected to be much more colourful", as I do like Obsidian's sense of humour but have a preference for fantastic settings (such as Avowed) over sci-fi (such as Outer Worlds). I'm still holding out hope for the ability to play in third person will be their, but everything else for me seems pretty positive.
It'll certainly be cool if we get to see it's gameplay in December so here's hoping.
Re: Rumour: Seven Original Xbox Games That Could Be Getting Backwards Compatibility
Re: Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Team Will Look At Possible Xbox Release After A 'Rest'
Re: Bright Memory: Infinite Still Slated For 2021 Release, New Images
Q) Excited for Bright Memory: Infinite?
A) Oh yes, very much so; although I will admit that I've been concerned about the lack of a release date. It's interesting to hear that it is still set for a 2021 release as I've been expecting to hear news of a delay for a while now. Hopefully it won't come out too close to the release of Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water as they'll otherwise be competing for my time, but otherwise, hopeful to play this game this year.
Re: Phil Spencer Celebrates Nintendo GameCube Anniversary By Sharing His Favourite GC Game
Q) What's your favourite Nintendo GameCube title?
A) A funny thing to be asked on an Xbox site, but for me, my favourite GameCube game is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It sits comfortably among my top 10 favourite games of all time as well.
Eternal Darkness is a game I'm aware of but never played; it is a uniquely cool choice to see from Phil Spencer.
Re: Rumour: Xbox Is Getting A Cheaper 500GB Series X|S Expansion Card
Q) Would you be interested in a 500GB Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S?
A) As I rarely download games but would like a storage option for when my Xbox Series X inevitably runs out of space, this might be a better choice for me than 1TB option for now. So yeah, I think I would be interested.
I don't need to move over all my Xbox One games just yet and something that doesn't hit my wallet so hard in a single instance would be appreciated given my money concerns until I get a more stable job.
Re: Hyperkin Is Bringing Back The Original Xbox Duke Controller
Q) Interested in picking up the new 20th Anniversary Duke controller for Xbox?
A) Oh gosh yes; I adored the Duke controller I got for the Xbox One and used it for ages. Most of my Soulcalibur VI playtime was with it and I found it surprisingly comfortable to use.
I only stopped because it suffered from Drift and I was unable to find a replacement and sending things off for repairs is always a nervous experience unless it's someone you can trust. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on one of these, particularly as it does have the additional share button to make use of.
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed At Xbox's Gamescom 2021 Showcase
Q) Did you watch Xbox's Gamescom 2021 Showcase?
A) I did not; work has been super busy as of late, as it tends to in trying to finish building work before the Summer Holidays end. I have been keeping an eye out for gaming news coming out from it though and I see a couple or so articles to read through later from this list.
I will say though, I did misread your last bullet point as "Forza Horizon 5 hover cars revealed" rather than cover cars and the former would be far more exciting.
Re: XEL is A 'Gorgeous Sci-Fi Zelda-Like' Heading To Xbox Series X And Series S In 2022
Q) Intrigued by the look of XEL?
A) Intrigued would be a good way to describe my thoughts on it. I like the visual design and the music throughout the trailer was lovely; a touch upbeat whilst still having a strong mystique and adventure vibe to it.
'Huge overworld' concerns me for fear of it being a more open and less linear experience (not my cup of tea) but as said, I am intrigued and shall keep an eye out for more news on it.
Re: Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water Will Include A Free Xbox Series X And Series S Upgrade
Re: Fatal Frame: Maiden Of The Black Water Delivers The Spooks On Xbox This October
Re: Woah, Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black Water Is Coming To Xbox This Year
Q) Are you excited for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water?
A) I already own this game on Wii U... but I love it so much that this is likely the rare time that I double-dip; particularly as it's nice to show more niche franchises like this some support. I'd be more than happy to snap photos of ghosts with Yuri once again, though this time on an Xbox Series X.
Given the bonus costumes were Nintendo themed, I'm curious as to what the replacements will be; the original bikini outfits or Microsoft themed ones?
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Xbox & Bethesda's E3 2021 Showcase?
Re: Insider Lists IP We Shouldn't Expect To See At Xbox's E3 2021 Showcase
Q) Are you hoping to see any of the games and series on this list featured at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase?
A) Fable and Avowed are the two Xbox 1st Party games I'm most interested in, so it will be a real shame if neither one is present. Not a 1st party game, but the only other Microsoft systems exclusive that has my attention right now is Bright Memory: Infinite. The other exclusives are more curiosities right now (though more shown could sway me).
Hey though; maybe a new game announced will appeal to me. I'll hope so in the case that Jeff here is correct.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Today's Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 Event?
Q) How Would You Grade Today's Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 Event?
A) A tough question to answer. Whilst there was little to nothing that appealed to me, I found the overall presentation to be solid with a good mix of trailer, developer interview and gameplay. Each game shown had a decent bit of attention to it.
So whilst the lack of games for me does lower it's standing in my eyes, I would ultimately say the style and presentation for it is enough for me to rank it amongst the three higher grades.
Re: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Has Officially Been Confirmed To Be Getting A Sequel
Q) Will you be checking out the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night sequel?
A) Absolutely; loved the first game and I look forward to hearing more of it's sequel. This early announcement is a bit strange though as you would think they'd wait until they had at least something to tease about it.
Re: It Looks Like Balan Wonderworld Creator Yuji Naka Has Departed Square Enix
Q) What do you think about Naka's alleged departure from Square Enix?
A) As someone who has enjoyed Yuji Naka's work, including Balan Wonderworld (currently doing a co-op playthrough with my brother on our YouTube channel), this is disappointing news to hear. Unsurprising given the (overly) harsh reception this game received, but disappointing to hear all the same.
This also means Balan Wonderworld is very unlikely to receive a new game, which is a real shame as despite enjoying the game a lot, I could still think of plenty to add or tweak to improve it.
Re: It Looks Like Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Is Getting A Sequel
Re: Rumour: Sonic 2022 Will Be Called Sonic Rangers, An Open-World Adventure
Q) What do you think about the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog game?
A) So far, nothing has particularly grabbed me or got my interested. I suppose I've been believing too much in the speculation of a Sonic Adventure remake/3, so the outcome here (which doesn't look like either of those possibilities) seems a bit disappointing.
Also, mentioning open-world tends to do a good job of killing my enthusiasm. I'll keep an open mind but I'll need to learn a lot more about this 2022 Sonic game before I'd become interested in it.
Re: Xbox's E3 2021 Conference Will Reportedly Take Place On June 13
Q) Happy with this date?
A) Definitely; this translates to 6PM for me which is a fantastic time. I can be well rested and well prepared to react to it.
Q) Looking forward to Xbox's E3 2021 conference?
A) I'm looking forward to E3 in general but of course the biggest ones of Microsoft and Nintendo have my attention the most. I look forward to hopefully hearing of some more specific release date announcements for the many projects they currently have in the works. An I'll be ecstatic to see some first gameplay footage of the upcoming Fable (or is that too soon to hope).
Re: Super Bomberman R Online Is Getting A Free-To-Play Release On Xbox This Thursday
Re: Balan Wonderworld Will Have A Day One Patch To Rectify Player Issues
@mousieone I don't think YouTube links are against PureXbox policies (apologies if they are) but I just wanted to send you the link to my Balan Wonderworld playthrough which has just begun uploading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBfUSJUvB8A
It's a co-op playthrough with my brother which makes for some rather unique approaches to the levels. I hope you enjoy it.
Re: Sunset Overdrive Co-Director: 'We Own The IP, Nothing Stopping Us Making A Sequel'
Re: Bright Memory, An Xbox Series X|S Console Exclusive, Is Now Cheaper Than Ever
Re: Xbox Series Consoles Outsold PS5 Last Month In The UK, But Not Nintendo Switch
Q) What do you make of these results?
Re: Konami Isn't Attending E3 2021 But Has Some Key Projects In The Works
Q) What Konami projects do you think we might hear about in the coming months?
A) Hearing Konami are making a game at all is a surprise these days, let alone the specific game. Most of their recent gaming output has been collections, which I could see them doing more of. There are plenty of IPs they haven't covered with their collections so it's an easy thing for them to do.
Given the Netflix series popularity, I could see them having had a Castlevania game in development for a while (games take time after all). It could work out pretty well for them if it comes out in time of the final season.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 24th)
Re: That House Of The Dead Remake Is Probably Also Coming To Xbox
Re: Talking Point: Would You Still Buy An Xbox Without Game Pass In 2021?
Re: Phil Spencer Is 'Looking Forward' To What Xbox Has To Share At E3
Q) Are you excited for E3 this year?
A) Oh yes; I missed it not being a thing last year. It's a yearly treat to watch, record, react and enjoy it with a large pizza to snack on. It also is super helpful in forming my game purchases and Birthday/Christmas presents (both for myself and others).
More news on the upcoming Fable would be very much appreciated and I look forward to potential new reveals to grab my interest.
Re: E3 Returns This June With A Digital Only Event, Xbox Will Be In Attendance
Q) Are you happy to see Xbox backing E3 this year?
A) Very much so. Naturally Xbox is one of the main gaming companies I keep an eye on so it is great to have it reveal more info alongside other companies I keep an eye on. E3 is great for that; a consistent event and time to receive info from numerous companies makes it easier to plan ahead and be able to watch and read up about it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 3rd)
Q) What Xbox games are you playing this weekend?
A) This weekend has been a bit busy, but throughout most of the week I've played Balan Wonderworld. I'll probably play it a bit more at the start of the week and then juggle in some other games... until my brother and I start our recorded playthrough of Balan Wonderworld. Not sure whether to just have my brother play it or try and sort out the controllers for co-op.
Re: Review: Balan Wonderworld - The Balan-dest Platformer On Xbox Series X
Re: Balan Wonderworld Will Have A Day One Patch To Rectify Player Issues
@mousieone I managed to get the game on Xbox Series X in the end, though I wasn't able to cancel the Switch version. Luckily, it's a good child friendly platformer so I've decided to give it as a Birthday present to my nephew.
An yeah, my brother seems up to playing it on the channel, so after our current Knack 2 let's play has finished uploading, we'll starting a Balan Wonderworld playthrough. That should begin sometime in May, so I'll a note and tell you when we do.
Re: Balan Wonderworld Is Getting Some Pretty Suspicious User Reviews On Metacritic
Re: Pick One: Which Of These Classic Lord Of The Rings Games Was Your Favourite?
An easy call to make, as out of those three, I've only played The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I do recall having a decent time with it... but then again, I also recall it having co-op but everything I've looked up online about it seems to suggest it never had co-op.
It was a long time ago so my memory is a tad blurry.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 27th)
Q) What Xbox games are you playing this weekend?
Re: Astria Ascending Is A New RPG From Final Fantasy Veterans, Hitting Xbox Game Pass Later This Year
Q) Are you interested in Astria Ascending?
A) With an artstyle reminding me of a Vanillaware game, a race that look like the Crystal Chronicles Lilties, and turn based combat, I can certainly say I'm interested in this game. I look forward to learning more about this game, and if it continues to interest me, hope for a physical release.
Re: Reminder: Rare's Banjo-Kazooie Now Available As A Smash Bros. amiibo
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade March's Xbox Indie Showcase?
Q) What grade would you give the March 2021 Xbox Indie Showcase?
A) I'm undecided between a C grade or a D grade. I feel the format could do with some improvement and I was left with only games that intrigued me rather than convinced me of a purchase. Yeah, I think I'll go for a D grade due to it's sheer length and lack of information on a lot of games (and too much on a couple others).
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed At March's Xbox Indie Showcase
Q) Did you watch March's Xbox Indie Showcase?
Re: PSA: Balan Wonderworld’s Final Boss Could Trigger An Epileptic Seizure If The Game Is Unpatched
