Re: Dying Light 2 'Plans' To Feature Ray Tracing On Xbox Series X

Senua

You previously confirmed ray tracing (and NVIDIA DLSS) for the PC version of Dying Light 2. Which effects will be ray traced, specifically? Do you plan to use any other DirectX 12 Ultimate features (VRS, Mesh Shaders, Sampler Feedback) in Dying Light 2?

Tomasz: All the effects mentioned, i.e., shadows, AO, and light reflections, e.g., from the player's flashlight. We're also experimenting with Nvidia to expand the effects base.

Ray tracing is a great technology. We are exploring new possibilities related to DX12 Ultimate, such as VRS. Mesh shaders are rather a matter for the next project. DL2 will continue to be developed for a long time, so the results of our research will also be visible after the game's release if they significantly affect the quality of the game.

1. Halo’s lore and universe definitely way bigger than those two in sheer depth of story, characters, universe and lore. If you are not into Halo’s lore then you are having even the half of it’s experience.

2. No one can be that dumb to think that an acquisition at the level of 7.5B$ can be possible to do only in few months. It probably started even before Starfield was announced. Starfield like most other games is developed on PC. So it’s entirely possible there’s no PS version for that game and also Jim Ryan has confirmed there’s no contract yet.

3. Yes R&C is a kiddie game (although looks impressive) and doesn’t have the same fan appeal like other behemoths.

Maybe if you leave behind your hatred and bias against xbox in pushsquare then you will be able to think more realistically.

@StonyKL
Deathloop - Coming to gamepass anyway. Waiting to see the XGS logo though.
Kena - Just like the other Xbox 2nd party titles that have been announced last year which will also hit gamepass this year.
R&C - More like a kiddie tech demo can’t compare with behemoths like Halo Infinite and Starfield. Also Forza Horizon 5 is also rumoured to release this year.
GoW 2 and HZD 2 - These are the only true contenders although Halo by itself has way bigger universe and lore than those two combined. Also chances of Halo Infinite and Starfield making it to this year is way more likely.

@Snake_V5 Yo do you really want to start with how many times his lies and fake industry sources got caught red-handed and debunked? 😂
Just because you have hate and bias against Xbox platform doesn’t automatically makes all those lies wash away! All these scared fanboys who are not really invested in Xbox platform but still come here in fear of what Microsoft is up to next. 😂🦄🤮
