Re: Thanks To Starfield, UK Xbox Sales Enjoyed A Huge Increase In September

Sakai

@themightyant its the only information we have available, so its the best we have, and it says that Starfield was way more popular on PC, and it was not even remotely close.

Now if we ever get granular game pass figures, maybe we could revisit it and come up with a different answer, but I am not sure why they would ever release those figures to the public. But i for one would find it very interesting

Re: Best Buy Will Reportedly Stop Selling Physical Media Next Year

Sakai

Grainger games, Blockbuster, EB, Gamestop have all closed for good near(ish) to me.

5 GAME stores have closed within 45minutes and we are left with 2 completely pointless tiny satellite shops in Sports Direct stores that sell more Funko pops than games.

Tesco, Sainsburys etc no longer sell games in store

The only brick and mortar stores i can think of that still sell games are Currys and Smyths and the sections are not good

As someone who still buys and prefers physical media, the writing is sadly on the wall. Its going to end up like PC gaming in the not too distant future

Re: CMA Criticises 'Tactics Employed By Microsoft' Despite Agreeing To ActiBlizz Deal

Sakai

Got to love them still trying to save face and pretend they didn't fold like a cheap suit. Its adorable

"With the sale of Activision’s cloud streaming rights to Ubisoft, we’ve made sure Microsoft can’t have a stranglehold over this important and rapidly developing market. As cloud gaming grows, this intervention will ensure people get more competitive prices, better services and more choice. We are the only competition agency globally to have delivered this outcome."

The last sentence shows its all about trying to save face.

I also like how they also try to bury the fact its only for 15years, only mentioning it once in the whole press release lol

The other mind blowing fact is the CMA expect Ubisoft to be a huge player in cloud gaming, when they don't even own their own cloud gaming service, they use Lunar, and it's only available on PC.

Re: UK CMA Grants 'Preliminary Approval' Of Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Purchase

@OldGamer999 @S1ayeR74 In the CAT trial MS said that COD will be comming day 1 to gamepass in 2025, as Sony have a contract in place preventing it until then. Unless there has been a new contract or change in circumstance since then.

But they did not mention if its stops older COD games comming to gamepass as soon as possible or not

Other titles from ABK like Diablo should go to gamepass asap

Re: Poll: Based On What You've Played So Far, What Score Would You Give Starfield?

Sakai

So far I would go for a 9 but that could go up or down.

I have figured out things like using the scanner properly to navigate and how to identify which biome you are in for the fauna and how to unlock the planet traits etc.

Still have yet to try the space combat, base and ship building or any of the crafting/research. Maybe il give one a go tonight.

Still need to start the first Constellation mission...

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Confirmed For Xbox In 2023, Series S Version Ditching Local Co-Op

Sakai

@InterceptorAlpha "No necessarily Halo as it was cross gen, but Forza dropping it was definitely a S issue"

Phil Spencer confirmed to IGN at Gamescon that Forza missing split screen is nothing to do with the hardware capabilities of the X or S and is to do with prioritising resources.

"So if we think about Forza, it has nothing to do with any kind of hardware thing on S and X, just where they wanted to focus their time.

We obviously see the data in terms of how many people play local co-op for games. I love local co-op. Shout out to Vampire Survivors that just launched it. Fantastic. But there's also just a, let's go where the play is, in terms of where we're going to focus our dev resources."

You are conflating two separate issues

@Fiendish-Beaver according to the Phil Spencer Gamescon interview over on IGN, Forza Motorsport lacking split screen has nothing to do with the hardware capabilities of the S or X.

"So if we think about Forza, it has nothing to do with any kind of hardware thing on S and X, just where they wanted to focus their time.

Seems a lot of people on here are conflating 2 separate issues

Re: Microsoft Has No Plans To Drop Support For Xbox Series S

Considering almost all games have released on the S and X, with no problems. I really don't know why anyone would think the S would be dropped because of not even a handful of edge cases, where the studio themselves have admitted to not having the resources to work on several versions simultaneously.
