We've been having an absolute blast with Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty expansion here at Pure Xbox, and developer CD Projekt Red has now confirmed they're serving as the "last big updates" for the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 Game Director Gabe Amatangelo revealed the news in an interview with PC Gamer earlier this week, although he did also mention that smaller updates are still on the way in the future:
"2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the last big updates. We'll do a little something more, but those are the last big ones."
So, what's next? Cyberpunk 2. Yes, the developer is now planning to put its focus on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which for now remains unnamed. Hopefully the development cycle isn't quite as long for that one...
While it's a shame to see development slowly wrapping up on Cyberpunk 2077 considering it's now evolved into a truly fantastic game, we expect Xbox fans will be enjoying Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty for a long time to come!

i suspect it will be long time before we see another cyberpunk theyve got a new witcher to do before that
Cyberpunk 2078. Releasing in 2078 going by how far in advance they announced the last one.
Time to focus on the Witcher and obtain full redemption as a developer now.
Bug fixes for the next several months however... starting with 2.01 already announced. Already several reports of quest blocking bugs. I'll just wait a little longer.
So was Cyberpunk ever actually bad or were most of the complaints for the console versions centered on the game not working on consoles?
@Enigk lol
I glad it's become a great game I hope bethesda do the same thing with starfield make it great
Still has the flickering issue on reflective surfaces when they load
@IronMan30 The game itself, in my opinion, was fantastic. I think most of the complaints were surrounding some pretty nasty bugs, crashes, and performance issues.
The PlayStation version had rampant crashing and was pulled for sale until it was fixed. Also, much of the issues surrounded the base versions of last-gen consoles.
The X1X version was probably the best version at release. Sure, it had visual bugs and a few progress-breaking bugs that required reloading the game, but it performed well overall and could be played start to finish. I didn't sway far from the Main Mission, so there could have been more glaring issues I simply didn't notice as I kept things pretty narrow-focused in my playthrough.
Sadly, due to CDPR optimizing for base consoles, the X1X version actually started losing features and became worse as time went on.
By and large, the current-gen releases were great, but the PR damage had already been done and it took for 2.0 and Phantom Liberty DLC to return the game to grace.
I played it from day one for on the series x. Did it have bugs I guess I really enjoyed it it was fun to me the story was really good and I enjoyed the gameplay. They should have never released in on the old gen consoles. I will say the fact that they stuck with it and continued to work on it says a lot about them. Maybe a lesson in hype also.
I played it a few months ago and thought the whole thing was massively underwhelming, and that was before you even mention the bugs and constant crashing. I am yet to try 2.0, but a friend who has played it says its still very buggy and crashes alot and he has no idea how it reviewed so good
@IronMan30 It's weird the narratives that get picked up sometimes. Everyone talks about how horribly received this game was on launch, but it had a 78% positive rating on Steam in its first month with 290,000 reviews. So yeah, it was the console version driving the hate.
The inverse happens too. Review sites raved about how great Jedi: Survivor was, and that has like a 60% approval rate on Steam. It was at like 50% at launch.
@GamingFan4Lyf @InvaderFromSpace right, that's what I figured. And, after reading Wikipedia it's basically what I gathered. Thanks for confirming.
@Enigk Cyberpunk 4154.
Or it might even be logarithmic!
I'm having graphical issues in Dogtown on the quality mode. Like a white noise flickering on the screen after a few seconds of moving. I hope they fix it soon. I'll focus on other games in the meantime.
