Really torn on the art style and animation for this game. If it were pixelated, it would look beautiful, and I'd be all over it. As it is, it just looks like one of those cheap knockoffs.

Arkham City, easy. It was so dense with things to do and secrets to unlock. The story was the strongest, and it had the best selection of characters and villains.

I'm a tad conflicted, I won't lie. It's a dramatic departure from the tone of the Arkham series, but then I don't know what else I should expect from a Suicide Squad game. I have faith they'll pull it off, but ideally I'd like to see some gameplay.

Looks great! Much more promising than The Avengers, I must say.

Really looking forward to seeing the new games from both Rocksteady and Warner Bros Montréal. In just dreading the possibility of them being multiplayer focused 'service' games like The Avengers... Please, DC.

This looks like it may become one of the all-time great Hitman levels.

I gave it a go this morning; it's good fun! It didn't feel like a particularly deep experience, but I like it.

I think the important thing here is that they've realised the mess they're in and are moving to fix it. Let's wait and see how the game is before demanding a new studio takes over...

I like it! And the UI for the Xbox One X is already fairly slick, so this is great. Not sure if my PS4 is clogged up with junk, or if it's just showing its age now, but man, that thing runs slower than a tortoise.

Damn, bit gutted about Metal Gear, but I'll no doubt just buy it.

I’m not a massive fan of any of those, but if I had to pick, I’d probably go for WWII. There’s something about older settings that’s immediately more appealing to me, and although it definitely has its issues, I definitely enjoyed it more than the recent Modern Warfare. Don’t even get me started on Black Ops 4...

Not a great deal in the above list I'm interested in getting right now, but I'll check out the full sale. I will say though, if there's anyone left who has yet to play the Bioshock games, you absolutely HAVE to.

I'm honestly not too bothered about it anymore. I was at first, believe me. I was looking forward to playing Halo later this year than any other game. But I'm treating games like Cyberpunk and Watch Dogs: Legion as next-gen titles, and will be playing them when I pick up the Series X at launch. Can't wait!

@roe I don't think it makes a lot of business sense at all. They're giving a slice of the game to people who have already committed to parting with their cash. Think of how many more sales they could get if they gave access to everyone? Personally, I'm sceptical about the game's quality, so a demo could really help sway my decision.

This is interesting given how long Playground Games was rumoured to be working on Fable. Still, no complaints from me; plenty to be getting on with in the meantime.

I do genuinely wonder what their justification is in regards to launching it this year, though. I suppose it does help having backwards compatibility, Smart Delivery, and Game Pass. But still...

It’s a massive loss for the console’s launch, but I’m personally quite happy to wait for it if it means we’re getting a more polished game.

On a slightly separate note, I wonder if they'll actually try and launch the Series X with a Halo Infinite beta? Maybe..?

@Tharsman Oh I totally agree; personally, I'll have plenty to keep me busy, and I'll be buying it on launch day whether it's in November or later.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Microsoft's broader message for the Series X. Losing Halo on launch day is a HUGE blow, and although I'm still fully on board, I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see many folks jump ship to the PS5.

I'm devastated, obviously, but if it means the game is in a better state, then I'm all for it.

I'm really conflicted on this. On the one hand, I feel like Microsoft should just delay the launch of the console to fall in line with Halo, particularly when you factor in the crippled economy from Covid 19.
On the other hand, I'm still excited to get it on launch day and play titles like Watch Dogs and (hopefully) Cyberpunk 2077.

@BrilliantBill It's definitely quite odd. I remember working at GAME during the launch of PS4/Xbox One and we started receiving the hardware and accessories around 1-2 weeks prior to launch day.

Still working my way through the Halo series; currently on 343's freshman entry, Halo 4. I'm also playing Destroy All Humans!, and it's great fun!

Is it fair that certain games get extra content whilst retaining price parity with other systems? No, probably not. But I'll play the games I want to play, and I'll enjoy them as best I can.

Nice, that's cool. I'll mostly be buying digitally, so it won't affect me, but it's nice for those who like to collect physical games

In reference to the timing of the news post; Fraser does a great deal of leg work on this site, so perhaps give him a bit of slack.

Well deserved; it's superb. The lack of a map can be frustrating at times, but I found progression to be largely linear, so it didn't bother me too much.

The only 'joke' here is the litany of comments that clearly demonstrate how some folks are still entrenched in the whole 'console war' fiasco. If you can't see by now that Sony and Microsoft are heading down very different paths at this point, then I don't know what to say anymore.

If you don't like what they're doing here, don't buy it, and stop your whining.

I feel sorry for the folks at 343; they really can't win. They make Halo 4/5 graphically stunning and yet they're largely panned for poor storytelling and gameplay. They've clearly gone to huge lengths to fix this for Infinite, and people are panning it for the graphics!

Look, it's not a graphical powerhouse; not even the staunchest of Halo fans can deny that. But it doesn't look 'terrible'. It wasn't a 'pathetic showcase'. Yet again, the internet is doing what it does best by blowing everything completely out of proportion.

I mean, I'll give them a go! Not gonna just toss them aside because they're not A-tier games.

This has been completely blown out of proportion. It looks great, and I can't wait to play it on the Series X.

I'm almost done with Carrion; what a great little game! After that, it's back to my run through of the Halo franchise.

So awesome. They don't need to do this, but the fact that they are makes it all the more likely that I'll revisit these games in the future.
