Rocksteady Studios has today shared a first look at its upcoming game Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League as part of the DC FanDome event, coming to Xbox Series X in 2022.
The game, which is being developed by the team behind much of the Batman: Arkham series, is being described as an action-adventure shooter in which you'll team up as Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang (any additional characters have yet to be announced) to kill the Justice League.
Furthermore, the game is a continuation of the Arkham universe, and will be playable either in single-player format with AI partners or in co-op multiplayer for up to four players.
The creators of the Batman: Arkham series are back with a brand new action-adventure shooter. The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League. Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad.

Ehh, not feeling it as much as GK so far. Though Rocksteady has earned trust, look forward to seeing more whenever. Great to hear some Outkast though!!
Thought this trailer was pretty great. We need more funny games. Journey to the Savage Planet was one of my favorites recently... Wish it was coming sooner!
This looks pretty cool. I'm actually surprised I could tell this was for MS and Sony's next-gen consoles and not the current ones. First trailer I've seen where it was apparent.
Eh more excited for Gotham Knights then this game.
@IronMan30 this, to me, looked just like an average pre-rendered cut scene. Still looking forward to it but don't expect the game to look anything like that.
Yeah, i'm more excited for Gotham Knights.. I just have a weird feeling this Suicide Squad game is gonna be meh..
Honestly I'm interested. Cant wait to see more.
I'm interested for sure, but some of the humor makes me cringe a little. Hopefully in a year or so we will get some concrete gameplay footage since I personally didn't get anything from that besides an idea of the character art.
I'm a tad conflicted, I won't lie. It's a dramatic departure from the tone of the Arkham series, but then I don't know what else I should expect from a Suicide Squad game. I have faith they'll pull it off, but ideally I'd like to see some gameplay.
Wow just wow! More of this please!
I said this over on push square but that is a fun trailer! Even though it shows no gameplay. It really looks like a guardians of the galaxy movie especially the fight scene and king shark as a drax stand in which makes me wonder how influenced this will be by the upcoming James Gunn suicide squad movie. Maybe they just had a guess at what it might be like based on GotG!
Also I like Harley's haircut!
Next generation 2022. Probably late 2022.
This shows what I mentioned early, the current gen is going to run along side next gen for the longest I’ve know it.
I think next late 2021 FIFA and lot of other games will still be cross generations.
Looks good it wanna see gameplay before I decide and Gotham knights looks great love me some red hood.
@Dezzy70 I think the switch to next gen will actually be quick for many releases.. Sure 2021 will see many titles still release cross gen on both the Xbox One and Series X. The Xbox One will still have a decent amount of 2021 titles coming out, but by 2022 I expect that to rapidly dry up...
I really cant see much other than the odd sports title such as Fifa Legendary Edition and the odd Lego game/Just Dance or random shovelware title releasing on Xbox One in 2022 onwards..
We’ll see about this one. Rocksteady has earned my trust, but we’ll see.
@BANJO
Yes once 2022 current generation should be left behind I guess.
This is the closest I have ever seen though the game market get close to the phone market type structure, especially as this gen we had a mid gen upgrade.
I do hope at some point though in late 2021, we see 2 show stoppers from Microsoft studios just for series x.
My dreams being selfish is Hell blade and Forza, Series X Only using all that power.
I wish for Halo Infinite that way as well, but that is to far fetched and down the line now of development.
@Dezzy70 Even with this gen getting a mid gen upgrade both the PS4 and Xbox are still massively held back by the base consoles in terms of cross gen support going forwards..
I think the base Xbox One especially will limit any cross gen support with Series X massively beyond 2021...
I guess 2021 festive season the Xbox One should get the last meaningful cross gen support, after that just a handful of titles will release for it (In my view)...
Well 2 out of 3 isn't bad, both Hellblade and Forza are solely Series X releases...
Regarding Halo Infinite, I would release the title on Xbox One but only offer support for a short period in the form of optimisation updates for about a year after release...
And this isn’t coming out until 2022?!! What has Rocksteady been working on this whole time?
Maybe they were doing something different and it got scrapped? Or Covid-19 is effecting things even worse than we thought?
@KelticDevil
I think Covid has effected things more than I thought. Most developers seem to have been hit. Look at Nintendo’s first party studios, looks like nothing for the rest of year apart from dumb remakes which I have already played originally.
@Dezzy70
Yea Nintendo has been whisper quiet, even for them. We all know Halo ran into problems. And Sony only having one first party exclusive (albeit standalone DLC) at launch is kinda telling.
I think we are going to see lots of delays in the future due to Covid.
@KelticDevil
True, especially if more games wish to create bigger more detailed worlds and advanced AI with next gen and working from home. Let alone mocap etc.
