Microsoft has revealed more details today on its Project xCloud game streaming service, revealing that it's launching in beta with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on September 15th - but only on Android devices for now.
As announced last month, Project xCloud will allow Ultimate subscribers to play "over 100 titles" via the internet on phones & tablets, and that list will be announced near launch - although you can see some of them below.
The company also says that it's intending to make day-one access to new titles from Xbox Game Studios available on Project xCloud in the future, just like it's committed to doing with Xbox Game Pass.
The full list of countries that will be supported at launch are the following:
"Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States."
Looking forward to the release of Project xCloud with Xbox Game Pass? Let us know below.

Oh yeah, looking forward to handheld Fable!
I hope Apple gives a leeway to their fascist license policies like they have done with Amazon. Afterall they and Microsoft go way back.
@Dyrual Watch this space... sounds like we'll be hearing about this tomorrow.
@FraserG Oh yeah I watch all Apple and Samsung events.
Edit:
IPhone users see:

Definitely not for me.
I'm a apple user and my connection internet is very bad at home 😔
@MrConstantina My internet is relatively poor (15mbps download, 1mbps upload) and I can still play games on xCloud with barely any input delay.
The only issue is that I get regular connection warnings and the image loses fidelity sometimes, but it's still playable for sure.
I don't know what they're doing about iOS yet though. Hopefully xCloud gets added to Apple devices soon.
@Z3u5000 sorry figured it out. I see what you mean now. Apparently they can do it but they have to make all the MS available as individual games.
@mousieone Microsoft saved Apple once from bankruptcy, that’s why they go together long way back.
@Z3u5000 one can hope I guess but I feel like they are trying to push Apple Arcade :/ anyway thank you for the response.
@mousieone I think there’s a market for both Apple Arcade and a cloud on Apple products- they both cater to wildly different audiences ( just checking out the offerings). It’s a shame really. Hopefully they allow xcloud to come to iOS- that’s all I have lol. It’s weird though because if you go to an Apple store their officially recommended controller for playing games on their devices is the Xbox one controller.
@Mamabear I think there is too. I just don’t think Apple will not think so without a lot of money involved. See Apple Arcade is for someone like my sister as opposed to me. I want my console save file to accessible.
Again I think MS can get Apple to loosen up but oi oi how long that takes...
I would never use Xcloud but happy for those interested in it..
Pure insanity. This will be a game changer if it works as intended.
Free beta closes on the 11th September. You can keep playing on Game Pass Ultimate or buying the games thanks to Microsoft's free cloud saves.
I'll be able to fire up my Surface and play Xbox games while my wife has the TV. Something only the Switch allowed me to do previously
This is huge for Xbox. They’ll have the streaming market locked down.
Sorry if this has been covered and I missed it on speedreeding or a previous article but:
Will xCloud work with every single GamePass game? Or is the list a sub-set?
Or does the "full list to be revealed September 15" line meant to keep us in suspense? That number sounds like the same number they tout for GamePass (over 100 games.)
I'm pretty excited about not only the game pass library (or most of them?)
But for GAME DEMOS on this setup.
So up comes a demo, eg NFS 2022 (lol), a game I wouldn't normally go for. I stream it at work or in holiday. I like it and buy it, maybe drunkenly.....
It downloads to the XsX, takes a few hours (?)
I continue to play it on stream while I'm waiting for the DL to finish.
When I get home I switch on the XsX, and am able to pick up the game from EXACTLY where u left off.
So NOT "load up and restore a save game and lose some progress from where the last save game was saved" (eg typewriter in Res games, or start of the level in other games)
But an actual SAVE GAME STATE, like if you shut down the console and come back to the same game a few days later and it picks up from the exact 'frame' that you left off.
Sorry if I emphasised to much, trying to show how great this will be.
Eeeeeyyyy, great to see this heading out into the world! Just hope it comes to Windows and Switch too - can't let mobile have all the fun, now.
No iOS, no Japan. Well, I guess no Game Pass Ultimate for us living in Japan. (Even if it was Japan, no iOS, and Japan has over 50% iOS users vs. android)
This will make it much harder for Microsoft to set a foot into the Japanese market. Maybe even impossible.
Microsoft could have killed it by making Japanese play Yakuza on iOS.
@tatsumi I hope it moves to Japan shortly. As an IOS user, I hope that policy issue gets figured out too. It’s entirely possible when they get IOS figured out they’ll launch in Japan then too.
XCloud and GamePass on my android phone?
I mean, this is incredible.
