Just kill it guys. Let it rest in peace.
Meh!!
Doubt I will bother adding any to my collection...
The Original Xbox games for me, throughly enjoyed Red Faction 2 back when the original THQ existed...
Great surprise to be able to play this again 😀
MX Unleashed I actually already own😑, but it's well worth getting for those who don't have it yet.
As per usual, I will claim the games, but probably never install them.
I mean, I'll give them a go! Not gonna just toss them aside because they're not A-tier games.
Surprised there's no Forza Horizon 3, I wonder if Gold truly is disappearing in September.
Nothing to see here.
Oh boy, I would say, if they don't have anything to offer, than don't bother.
Wow this is sad. They really should just pull the trigger and end GwG and just include Gold with Game Pass
Game Pass Ultimate rendered Games With Gold redundant a long time ago, so I've paid very little attention to the GWG offerings over the past year or so. Why get so hung up over what 4 games are going "free" each month when as part of GPU I have access to well over 100 games already?
These games get crappier and crappier each month.
Bit of a meager selection, I have to say. Oh, well. At least we'll actually get to keep two of the games for real, unlike with Game Pass, which just isn't for me.
Override looks cool and I’ll definitely add that. Didn’t they do Portal Knights not long ago? Red Faction 2 is good as well.
The "free" games have been crummy from both MS and Sony for the past year, to year and a half. I presume they both know the writing is on the wall for these programs. It went from having awesome games pretty often for both platforms years ago, with Sony even giving out their major first party exclusives that were a few years old, to both platforms giving "low rated indie and very hated AAA game" monthly.
Yeah, it's time for Gold to go away...paying for the free games in the post Game Pass world makes no sense on XBox, and....well....it's just not worth it on PSN either.
Both Gold and Plus are not at their best. At least there is Game Pass on Xbox.
@Grumblevolcano Highly doubt Gold will disappear, MS no longer offering the 12 month option likely means any hard changes wont hit until 12 months from that removal. Even then, they allow to stack up to 36 months, so, again, highly doubt its going away. If anything, I expect it will not be sold independently anymore once Series X comes out.
My call keeps being:
Online goes free.
Games with Gold continue being available for all that paid for it, but going forward only as part of GamePass Ultimate.
I liked Red Faction 2, but c’mon.
GWG needs to be put out of it’s misery & just make online free.
I’ve played override but I’ll probably play red faction 2 the most
If they give online for free they can save the cost of Games with Gold and just make deals with publishers for Game Pass. Online free, games to Game Pass.
I'll play Portal Knight for free. Why not?
Just some new info, but psychonauts currently free on Store
@NEStalgia I respectfully disagree regarding PS+. They have Improved the Quality of the titles since they reduced it to just 2 PS4 games. Amongst many others, in the last year alone:
...and more.
Meanwhile Microsoft have given up on Gold and are seem to be concentrating on the wonderful Game Pass
@Sylcolene Just checked this, it's still £8.99 for me...
@BANJO https://www.gamespot.com/articles/psychonauts-is-no-longer-free-on-xbox-one-and-xbox/1100-6480295/
Oh no, it's just an error.Glad i've been claim it.
Maybe another time, man 😀
@Sylcolene Yes, seems I was not quick enough 🤦♂️
@themightyant I was a huge critic of PS+ ; even more so when they dropped the Vita and the PS3. But after a few months the quality of release did start showing up so I can't complain. The difference though is that they don't have GamePass (cause you know PS Now is a joke) but if they did I'm certain what we are seeing with GwG would be the same with PS+.
@kuliddar I agree with all of what you said except about PS Now, it is likely better than you think, and improving constantly.
Access to over 800+ titles, hundreds of which are downloadable for PS4 and PS2 (it's not just streaming) recent months have had
Is it as good as Game Pass? No, not even close, but it's still a solid service and not the joke you, or the older meme's, suggest.
@themightyant What was the time period for those? That goes prior to the past year I think. I forget to check on the freebies on both consoles all too often, especially these days, after months of bad offerings for both I just got out of the routine for it, so I might have missed a few.
@themightyant First difference is that this service has no new day and date releases like GamePass. Second difference is that it's their response to B/C.....BUT you have to pay for it. Third difference: it's more expensive and does not even include an option to have PS+ bundle up like Ultimate - only PS Now titles will work for online multiplayer. Fourth difference: the Streaming quality has not improved, its just bad. So yeah, it my eyes it will remain a joke of a service. It was a joke prior to game pass and that has not changed.
The good stuff is that the download of some titles is a good step forward but its still limited. The addition to have PC games to the service is good as well. That being said, its not enough to convince me to sign up for it. If they want to compete with GamePass they are going to have to completely overhaul it.
@NEStalgia Those are all in the last 12 months (since Aug 2019) Sony HAS upped their game with PS+ (and PS now to a lesser extent)
https://playstation.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Plus_games_(PAL_region)
@kuliddar As I said Game Pass is the far superior service, I wasn't really comparing the two, as they are different propositions, only saying that Now is better than most people think and not a joke service anymore.
FYI a few of your points appear wrong.
1) PS now is much cheaper, at least in the UK, £49.99 per year vs. £95.88 for Game Pass. Though both can be found for even less if you shop around.
2) I've never had any major problems streaming games on Now, it works as well as all the other streaming platforms i've tried (Onlive, Gaikai & Stadia). The stream does occasionally become chunky for a few seconds and I have had it cut out once or twice, but I've also had games crash on console, kinda the same. All in all I've completed many games over stream. Looking forward to xCloud... which is included in Gamepass Ultimate FTW.
