Like Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage, they have created a large, beautiful, rich world, with amazing graphics, loads going on and an addictive gameplay loop that is synonymous with their games.
Nothing extraordinary, obviously not for everyone and those people who didn't like the prior games shouldn't get this.
But those of us who liked those games clearly like Shadows.
All the controversy and hate is just ridiculous and embarrassing. I don't get people who don't even like the series still hating and hoping the sales figures are bad.
I don't like Souls games but you won't finding me praying that Nightreign does bad numbers.
Globalisation is deemed wonderful by large Corporations and the politicians they own, when they lay people off and move jobs overseas to exploit cheap labour.
Yet if we embrace the new global market by purchasing digital items from other territories, it is suddenly “harmful”.
To be honest I'd not really seen anything that made me think "wow that looks like a step up from the prior few games", so I was fully expecting a 60fps mode with quality consistent with Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage.
The screenshot above looking out over those hills is very reminiscent of many a vista in Odyssey.
Have to say I think GeForce Now is a bigger Xbox hardware killer than the games releasing on Sony systems.
On a good connection it’s phenomenal. Like having a £2000 PC but with no technical knowledge required, no fan noise and no horrendous electricity bill.
Plus it has launch day releases of the latest Gamepass titles, especially the big ones like Avowed or Stalker etc.

Re: Talking Point: What's The Best Xbox Game You've Played During The Series X|S Generation?
Still Wakes the Deep is my most memorable game I've played on my XSX.
I've played a lot of games on my XSX, but probably a lot more on PS5/PC/Switch over that period.
In terms of total time, I probably spent most on AC Valhalla! Forza too.
Those are good fun but not something where you remember specific parts 10 years later.
Where as with Still Wakes the Deep I will.

I feel desperately sad for the developers.

Re: Pick One: If Xbox Acquired One Ubisoft IP, Which Should It Be?
I think there is room for another GTA type game on the market. That kind of open world "city and surrounding area" simulation.
One that takes itself a bit more seriously than GTA.
I'd therefore like to see someone take on Watch Dogs, but make it far more grounded. Going back more to the vision of the original game.

"bringing significant improvements to performance, FPS"
Alas not something one associates with UE5.

Hmmmm very interesting.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Happy With The Current Xbox UI As It Stands In 2025?
Prefer the PS5 dashboard if I'm honest. Feels more modern, looks better. Only downside to PS5 is finding the right version of the game you want...

Re: Bethesda's Last Wolfenstein Game Is Now Free To Claim On Xbox With Prime Gaming
It was a crushing disappointment after the brilliance of the first two games.
I really hated the dual ammo system and hated it even more when that idea spread to the most recent Far Cry. Hope we never see that nonsense again.
Also it was frustrating as a solo player, having quite obviously not been designed to play that way. Far harder then playing coop.
