Re: Talking Point: What Xbox Games Are You Playing Over The Holiday Period?

Chaudy

In the last few days on xCloud I finished Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Sega and High on Life. For me personally High on Life is one of the best games of the year, I enjoyed it so much.

I also got a Playstation last week and luckily the Playstation plus premium was on half price for 12 months. So I got that and discovered so many games on there that I haven't played. I've already finished Stray which was a really great game.

I'm currently playing inFamous First Light. The plan is to finish this game off today and start Spider-Man Miles Morales and Heavy Rain. Once I've beaten those 2 games, I'm going to start my playthrough of FF7 Remake and see what all the fuss is a about. I haven't played many of the Sony Exclusives so this is going to keep me very busy over the holidays.

@lokozar except they have hardly been releasing any games. How many games have we seen from 23 first party Studios that Xbox has in the last 3 years which are big budget AAA games? The answer is 4. In comparison Playstation has 18 Studios, 4 of which who don't contribute to PS5 AAA titles at all. Which means 14 Studios in the last 3 years for Playstation have made games like, The Last of Us Part 2, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Gran Turismo, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Astros Playroom. All of these listed games are critically aclaimed and have won numerous awards and are adored by players. Next year they'll be releasing Spiderman 2.

All Xbox has done in the last 3 years is made another sequel to Gears, Halo and Forza. We all know how Halo Infinite turned out. Psychonauts 2 was a rare exception but a multiplatform title. There's been no new IP that can match Sony's flagship games, even the little IP xbox has is being ruined with games like Halo Infinite.

Xbox is struggling to produce big budget games, they have 23 Studios, practically unlimited resources, yet can't compete with Playstation in the AAA department.

@Dezzy70 let's face it Xbox has been seriously lame in 2022. They still had a decent 2021 but they did release a console with 0 Exclusives.

You can't really argue with what Playstation has released in the last 2 years, the quality is at a completely different level. Just look at what they've achieved with GOW Ragnarok.

I think Xbox will eventually release a few Exclusives in 2023 but I think the quality will be missing. I mean did Starfield honestly look like anything special?

Still amazing that a trillion dollar company with 23 first party Studios (more than any company in history) released 0 AAA games in a entire calendar year.

We are now officially over 2 years since the release of Xbox Series consoles and so far they've made a grand total of 2 (Halo and Forza) console exclusive triple A games. 4 if you count Psychonauts 2 and Deathloop which are also available on competitor console.

Meanwhile Playstation with far fewer studios has released, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Astros Playroom, Sackboy Big Adventure, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo, God of War Ragnarok, and has also tied huge games with exclusivity deals to the console such as Forspoken and Final Fantasy 16. Not to mention quality indie games like Kena, Sifu and Stray.

At the end of the day its a you get what you pay for situations. Xbox gives you a cheap subscription service that has decent games every other month, whereas Playstation hardly ever releases a bad game and asks £70 a piece.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Game Awards 2022?

Hugely disappointing from Xbox perspective they didn't even show a new game coming to game pass that we previously didn't know about.

It was as if Xbox doesn't even exist. They did show some promising new games like Judas, Hades 2 and Banisher.

Re: Microsoft Shows Frustration As Sony Fails To Respond To 10-Year Call Of Duty Offer

Was on push square earlier and a lot of Playstation fans think Sony should take the deal and make a competitor. They keep forgetting many games have tried to compete with CoD but none have come close to it. MW 2 made over a billion dollars in just a few days, brand recognition is huge with CoD its essentially an FPS monopoly on its own like FIFA is in football games. You can't compete with it, at least not in the short term. They only way they'll compete is if Microsoft acquires it and then ruins it by poorly managing like they do with all their first party games. Until then COD is here to stay and Sony leadership just need to accept a decline in profits coming very soon.
