Microsoft could just point to their purchase of Mojang and how they have handled Minecraft and be done with this. I'm sure Microsoft wants to get COD on every platform they can and take in the royalties. This whole thing is stunt by Sony.
@NEStalgia I sure hope so. My biggest gripe in this is Nintendo's lack of a contemporary console and reluctance to do anything about it. I've actually given up on hoping for a new Nintendo several years ago. The Switch Pro had a chance to do something but really was a let down sporting the same hardware from 2017 with an OLED screen. I know it sells well but I find this upsetting as Nintendo uses this to price gouge their consumers while not producing anything. A Switch probably costs less than 50 to make in 2023 and they are still charging 300+ for them.
With the Xbox One the industry was saying that Microsoft was on the verge of being irrelevant. A couple years later Sony is trying to make the case that this would make Microsoft a monopoly... I wasn't born yesterday or just a couple years ago. Sony seems to think everyone in the world was born yesterday.
@NEStalgia The Switch is garbage as a console in 2023, okay as a handheld. I'm not saying there isn't a place for the Switch, I'm just saying that committing to something that has no commitment to move past 2017 sounds like a big mistake. Everyone talks about how the Xbox One holds back Series X|S games. The Switch just can't keep up with newer titles. 3rd party support is miserable. How much do you think it costs to build a Switch? Nintendo hates their consumers and they just accept it. While I do like Nintendo, they give some people zero incentive to play on their platform. On the other hand maybe this is what's needed to give the Nintendo Switch more games than just their first party lineup.
@mousieone The Switch barely does 720 while docked. I can play Xbox cloud games on my phone in the bathroom if I so chose but, I don't spend enough time in a bathroom to play games. It's not about 4k, heck it can't even do 1080p. Just look at the Sonic game. I mean you have your own opinion but Nintendo released the Switch in March 3rd of 2017 and couldn't outperform the 360 that released November 22nd 2005. Now I get that it is portable, but it's 2023. The Switch still costs the same as it did in 2017. If you don't see the problem, that's fine. Just don't pretend this problem doesn't exist.
@BBB This was my problem with the Hot Wheels. At least the LEGO content in FH4 took a while to collect all the LEGO pegs. I'm worried we will get another weekend adventure with the 2nd DLC. Hopefully logging into the game won't keep dropping us into the Hot Wheels park.
It's amazing to me that anyone supports the Switch. The Xbox 360 drifts donuts around the Switch. If my games are watered down for BS handheld systems I guess gaming just isn't for me.
Inflation as a whole is caused by greedy companies seeking record profits when they claim it's a supply issue. Their answer seems to be raise prices more. I guess I'll be saving a lot of money watching these companies begin to panic over losing consumers.
@northofthewall It's easier to just not give them your energy, there's no point in giving them any attention, gives you more time to enjoy life playing what you want the way you like.
Well you see your honor, just a couple years ago Sony bragged and marketed on Xbox and Microsoft having zero games and the Sony Playstation was the only place to game. So we sought out to build up our development by purchasing this company and all the sudden Sony is trying to stop us because they think buying this company will give us a monopoly. We are just going to let that sink in for a minute. We yield the rest of our time. Thank you your honor.
I plan on one day dropping Game Pass, the games I tend to play I've already bought because I wanted them. For me Game Pass has not effected how many games I buy even first party. For instance I have Game Pass and still purchased FH5. When Game Pass lapses, I still get to play the game. I'm going to judge the value of Game Pass again when it expires for me in a couple years. I want to see if the price goes up or what else they have planned. To be honest I'm not impressed with quantity and quality of games so far this console generation.
@ParsnipHero Thanks for the response. Hopefully someday they will understand that some players just like the single player experience. No waiting for other players or being dependent on other players, no issues with internet lag which could be from the other player even if you have a good connection, then there's matchmaking nightmares completely avoided.
It's still not "next/current gen". The game is built on a modified Unreal 4 engine and while it will be impressive it's still built on last gen tools. At least we are making the change. I think people will be surprised in what the Series S will be able to do when true games made for this generations consoles are produced and released. You will start to see this I believe with Forza Motorsport possibly Starfield.
Curious, is all the new content just online multiplayer? As someone who enjoys single player content is this a one and done campaign? Did Microsoft go the route of GTA5 and RDR2?
I'm surprised Sony fanboys put up with Sony's crap. They go from playing dictator over in gaming consoles to playing victim because they won't be able to bully Microsoft out of exclusive content. You can't make this stuff up. Sony deserves the damage from the fallout of this.
I just can't wait for the for the people trying to block this to stop whining. It's not a good look. I've already cancelled Sony. Now I'm just laughing.
@Chaudy Fun Riders Republic is a fun game and has it's flaws. Easier to find it on sale than to pay monthly anyways. Some of the content is behind DLC paywalls as well, I really like the BMX content even though it's lacking with real flatland tricks. Which is my overall opinion of this, Ubisoft+ doesn't make sense to begin with let alone be on the console. For the one or two games someone wants to play, it's still cheaper to buy the game than to pay Ubisoft monthly plus you get to keep the game. I wouldn't pay $1 a month more to have Ubisoft+ on Game Pass either.
I mean people are playing and enjoying it. Just seems like a missed opportunity. There was a bit of anticipation. But we knew these features weren't coming. I don't know this whole thing just makes me scratch my head. It was a great game, if someone hasn't played it there's a benefit there.
@uptownsoul Possibly another chance elsewhere, whoever kept them from doing a good port already threw them under the bus. I'd be doing whatever I could to save face from this if it wasn't my fault.
@Baler Glad you enjoy it. The original plays better and has full functionality. I'd rather seek out the original than play the port. With all the games that have been upconverted for the Series S|X, this really falls to the bottom of the barrel for me.
@uptownsoul This port is horrible for potential future business. It's not a good look to put the port out like this. Makes you wonder why they even bothered in the end. Now we only know this company for the flop this port was. You mean to tell me that companies will be flocking to Cody Mystic for future ports after this?
Microsoft trickled out the game in a way that tricked my interest elsewhere. This launch was a disaster. The lack of care for the consumer in the process has me not caring if they even fixed it.
@awp69 These responses from Cody Mystics Inc. sound like excuses, they could have elaborated on the reason they weren't allowed. Whoever is blocking this is a coward. Someone is in control and they don't want the bad publicity. Quite pathetic really.
@themightyant There is a small cushion. They still have another DLC coming for FH5 before then anyways. I know they aren't the same, but after seeing the Halo disaster, I hope they take their times with this.
This seems like such a waste. Of all these games that get remakes, this one needed it most. This port is horrible and lacks the features needed to make it flourish.
@Kaloudz MS may not be the leader in producing games, they leave Sony in the dust when it comes to the overall size and wealth. Windows is practically on every work computer. Their cloud services make them most of their money these days. Sony just takes their dominance which is shrinking in the gaming market, and is trying to play dictator with it. When I saw their marketing and influence during the Xbox One days, all I saw was Sony being a bully. Microsoft has to stop playing nice to these companies that are hostile to them. My guess this request for Sony to attend sounds like a last ditch effort to involve them before telling them they get nothing.
@Kaloudz I'm not that familiar with where everything is. If Sony isn't just trying to troll the acquisition they will grow up and say what they really want to say. They look pathetic acting like this. I hope they do have to go and get put in their place. There should also be rules put in place to keep anti-competitive moves like paying to block content on other platforms. I hope this backfires on Sony.
@Kaloudz I wouldn't say devious but smart. Sony is the devious one trying to pull the strings in this deal. Hopefully this will expose Sony and allow things to pass.
I mean, we'll have to wait and see. It will be nice when an actual current game arrives. No game at this point is actually using the newer hardware after 2 years. It makes me laugh how pre-mature these consoles released.
Felt like a switch game launch title from 2017. Graphics and all. There's a reason I don't own a Switch. It can't even out do an Xbox 360 from 2005. The Switch is literally on par with perhaps an original Xbox from 2002.
@Kaloudz I'm sure when games start utilizing the Velocity Architecture the Series S will look and perform at least 10x better. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how powerful the Series S is when running games made for the hardware. The price point will likely come down a little to boot.
