Developer Playground Games has revealed that Forza Horizon 5's second major expansion is based on all things off-roading. The 'Rally Adventure' expansion pack launches March 29th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The new DLC harkens back to the early days of Forza Horizon. The first game in the series featured a rally expansion too, although that was a more linear affair. Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure will feature its own open world map, much like FH3's Blizzard Mountain and FH4's Fortune Island.
"Your Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure is here! Drive purpose-built rally monsters and conquer the rugged Sierra Nueva. Join three rally teams and attack Horizon’s most thrilling routes ever in Timed Rally and Multi-Car Races.
Feel the intensity of massive dust trails and deformable roads in 10 new cars and experience the bursting flames of anti-lag. Explore dramatic craters, an abandoned quarry and an entirely smashable palm forest."
While this DLC does look like good fun, it's certainly a more 'safe' effort than some were perhaps expecting. It looks like Forza Horizon 5 won't be getting its own unique crossover DLC pack as seen in the last two titles in the series.
The game's first expansion was a crossover of course in Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, which arrived in summer 2022, roughly five years after the series first travelled to Hot Wheels Park. We enjoyed the series' second loop-de-loop-filled lap, scoring it 8/10 in our Pure Xbox review.
