Playground Games finally revealed Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 yesterday in the form of 'Rally Adventure', an all-new DLC pack arriving next month. The expansion takes clear inspiration from Forza Horizon 1's own rally add-on, bringing a more down-to-earth DLC to Forza Horizon 5.
The question is, what do we all make of the announcement? While FH5 has already delivered its own crazy crossover with Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, that was a clear re-treading of what came before during Forza Horizon 3's life cycle.
As a result, we're torn on what to make of this one in all honesty. On one hand we're very much down for more 'realistic' Forza Horizon content — as we banged on about last month with our praise of 'Fortune Island' — but at the same time, it is a little disappointing that Forza Horizon 5 will seemingly miss out on a unique crossover pack.
Rally Adventure does sound pretty good though. We're getting a whole new map in the form of the 'Sierra Nueva', along with 10 new cars and "the largest number of racing events of any Horizon expansion", so it at least sounds like a nice meaty expansion. It all just looks rather similar to the core Forza Horizon 5 experience - complete with plenty of sandy desert environments to boot.
We'll end up playing DLC 2 either way, but yeah, we feel the announcement has fallen a little flat all things considered. But, what do you think to the reveal of 'Rally Adventure'? Are you happy with Playground's direction here?

Slightly underwhelming and I’m a massive FH fan.
Was expecting something a bit different or new.
I guess it’s only dlc though.
I'm very happy. I didn't want another "silly" expansion. I enjoyed the Hot Wheels DLC but was hoping the 2nd expansion would be more grounded, like every 1st DLC for Forza Horizon was before this one.
More races than ever in a FH DLC and another large new location. Sounds about perfect!
I'm glad it is rally / off-road content as that's what I enjoy most in the series, but disappointed that there is seemingly nothing visually unique yet. Not that we need another Hot Wheels, but the setting looks like we could have just used a lot of the large open areas from the base map.
It's not really original but I'm always delighted for more content. A bit like FH1 Rally is such a natural fit I suppose.
I literally got back into FH5 from playing only 3h at launch and then never going back to last week. Couldn’t come at a better time for me, I’ve completed the main map all roads driven etc and picked up the hot wheels today. Loving the hot wheels so far. More FH5 in general is good as I’m hooked at the moment lol
Very excited! The Hot Wheels expansion was never something that I cared much for, while this is the kind of content I wanted.
Yes. They always do one zany one and one more grounded one. I haven't played FH5 much but this interested me.
"I'm happy with DLC 2, more Forza Horizon is always good!"
If it takes the weight off their shoulders for the new fable game the more the merrier.
Looks good. Nothing crazy but seems fun, I'll pick it up when I can get both DLCs bundled together for a cheap price.
I think the problem is the order of FH5's DLCs.
You can't go "hot wheels" crazy than "normal", it just makes the normal DLC look boring. Having the Lego/Hotwheels(remember that Fast and Furious standalone?) after the normal one not only lets the normal one not suffer in comparison but also makes the crazy one feel like a blowout before the attention shifts to the next game.
This is great. I like dipping in and out FH. Prior to returning I frequently forget how much progress I've made (despite not being particularly great at racing games) and the daft amount of cars I've got, which seem to appear on my list quicker than I can gift them. I really enjoy the off road doings the best so this update right up my gravelly road.
It’s growing on me. At first glance it felt similar (who needs more sand in Mexico 😛), even half of the “new” cars, but, it’s made quite deep after watching everything again. I wish they put in some Dakar and Pikes Peak Hill Climb events and cars related to those but it’s impossible to do good by everyone. Most importantly, the gameplay will be fun, I’m sure.
I personally believe Playground Games dropped the ball with everything FH5. This update will likely have me removing the game altogether. I can't even remember the last time I played the game. I actually play FH4 more than FH5.
Massive Forza fan.
My faveourite races in the series were in fortune island dlc, so Ive been hoping for new biomes and well designed races.
Im sure this will provide me with many more hours of entertainment than a more 'gimicky' setting would, so I cant wait and am very happy...
Always happy with more Horizon DLC but I’m not feeling the excitement at the minute. Hot Wheels was great but didn’t have much replay value & fell flat quickly. Regardless, I’ll be giving it a go upon release.
Looks like the base game to me, reserving judgement.
Initially I was disappointed, but after thinking about it I realized that I may like it more than the Hot Wheels expansion because I like the down to earth races more than fantasy.
Not happy I have bought every Forza and always wanted more body kits more 80s cars. Have emailed them aswell to ask every year for more 80s and 90s cars for example Renault 5 gtturbo phase 2
More fast fords
More jdm
But I would love to see a street outlaws drag crossover would be sick
Looks good, the best bit of forza horizon is going sideways through a field with Skrillex playing so more of that is no bad thing!
From what i seen, only con is the small list of new rally cars.
More Forza Horizon is always good, I do prefer the more grounded DLC packs. Plus more achievements to unlock is always welcome
With any of the updates, does anyone know if they've made it any easier for younger players? My kids can play Burnout Paradise but found Forza Horizon to be too challenging even at the easiest settings (at least when the game first released). Thanks in advance for any information.
