When Gamepass hits like this it’s ridiculous value, easily the best out there and it’s not even close.

I’m still playing Sea of Stars I have no idea how I’m going to catch up with other games like Lies of P and Octobers releases.

Does this update the graphics at all? They’re both great and really average at the same time at the moment.

@Kaloudz I played earlier in the year and I was really getting into it. Then I heard this patch was coming out and held off, now I don’t know if I have time to jump back in 😂 as I said I was enjoying it, but it has its issues. The game world itself is kind of empty and lifeless and the combat felt janky (possibly because I was low level?). The map is filled with side stuff like a Ubisoft game. I was enjoying the main story though and it can look fantastic when it wants to.

SE has lost $2 billion in value whatever they’re doing isn’t working. I think soon they’ll have no option other than release on every platform they can.

@Kaloudz I was thinking that, the sphinx one I prefer original too. Sometimes when they change things like this they move too far away from the original artist vision and I don’t like that. Like the jungle one also the sky is now pinky and looks odd compared to the original.

I was reading somewhere earlier PC gaming is continuing to boom in Japan. It was up 43% last year alone. It’s a market Xbox are in so there could be some truth in that regard but for the Xbox hardware itself, I think it’ll always remain niche in Japan.

Really liked the demo…. It’s just finding time to play this with everything else.

Good exclusives sell consoles. For some reason Xbox have failed to realise this for a decade or just done a poor job at getting good games out. Hopefully Starfield is a trend that continues, good exclusives people want to play, the consoles will sell themselves.

@GiveMeMoney SSR implemented properly can look just as good as RT, although it has its limitations it’s nowhere near the hit that RT has. Same thing with UE5, we’ve been promised this game changing technology but all we’re getting are sub 1080p games that don’t look much better than what we’ve already seen.

@XoBiiDoS Xbox and PS5 also have 8k on the box. You should never believe the marketing from these companies. High end TVs support 120fps but the vast majority of console gamers don’t have a set capable of 120fps that’s a fact.

@RBRTMNZ I can understand why devs don’t put the work in, the vast majority of console gamers don’t have VRR, it’s only on top end expensive TVs. I know people on forums and message boards would love it but the install base for it is tiny.

@Princessmadllama last gen we did indeed get some 4K games but some were using checkerboarding which honestly was great and seems better than the smudge fest FSR we have now.

@JaffeGaffe blame Tod not Phil. He’s the one who likes his games at 4k and feeling cinematic at 30fps for some reason. So Phil was right it was a creative decision, from Tod 😂

@XoBiiDoS yes it’s only you because most console gamers, myself included, are not set up for 1440p @ 120fps gaming. You really need a PC if you want to be in that niche you describe.

Only tried a very small amount of Starfield so far but the 30fps is a real bummer and noticeable. Maybe playing more I wont notice as much but I’d kill for the game at 60fps at say 1440p with slightly lower graphical settings.

Maybe one day but until then I’ll play it at 30 after I’ve finished BG3.

@Cashews ACG dropped his Redfall review 12 hours early by mistake and said it was the worse game of the year and he still got a code for Starfield. There was nothing shady about not giving codes out to mainstream outlets and it just goes to show when they don’t get what they think they deserve they act like toddlers, make hit piece articles and then push out biased reviews. Mainstream gaming journalism is dead, this was another nail in the coffin.

@Kaloudz stopped watching Him Sterling ages ago, shame as he actually used to make some decent videos about the state of triple A video games, which I mostly agreed with. But man he’s living in la la land these days.

@Fiendish-Beaver The absolute state of Eurogamer 😂 between that sort of critique because they didn’t get a code on time and blue haired reviewers who cry when a game doesn’t fit with their ideology it’s become a joke of a ‘gaming’ website. They’re Kotaku levels of garbage. The entitlement is off the charts. VATS was never even about accessibility, it was to plaster over the Fallout games not having the best shooting mechanics and it kind of worked, it was enjoyable. Starfield doesn’t need that.

@Cashews I agree with you and I’ve been saying it for a long time, the playstation simps are the worst fanbase of the big 3 and even worse than the pc crowd with their 4090s.

I don’t play attention to main stream reviews let alone user ones. Metacritic is the sh*ts I wish everyone would just start ignoring it.

@Kaloudz you’re probs further than me now 😂 I think I read the game is around 35 hours but don’t know if that’s including side stuff.

I really loved Chained Echoes, the characters weren’t as cheesy 😂 it’s hard to compare because I’ve finished one and not the other but Chained Echoes was one of my favourite games last year.

@Kaloudz and me have been loving this game. It’s a little slice of pure gaming quality. Dungeon design is fantastic, battles are second to none and its world is lovely. I think the cast are really cheesy that would be my only real negative but the gameplay is fantastic and more than makes up for it.

If you like this and didn’t play chained echoes last year give that a try too, both great games.

@Kaloudz I’m about 10 hours in pal. It’s a solid RPG but reminds me of classic Zelda games in some ways too. The music is great. Glad you’re enjoying it too!

@Kaloudz I can’t wait to start Starfield, I don’t buy into these early access upgrades, I can wait. Problem is I’m enjoying Sea of Stars that much I don’t think I’ll drop it and I’m also away for Starfield launch, oh and Baldurs Gate 3 is out 😅 I need to at least try it right? 😂

@Dsswoosh both IGN and Gamespot give FF16 9/10, the worst, most boring game I’ve played all year. I don’t take any of their reviews into consideration. They’re laughable.

Sea of Stars is a better RPG than SE can ever imagine creating right now, as was Chained Echoes last year.

Sea of Stars is the only game I’ve played on Gamepass this month and I’m really enjoying it. The characters and story so far are really cheesy but the gameplay and music is great.

@somnambulance 76 had the Fallout name to give it a chance of redemption, Redfall has nothing to fall back on. It doesn’t stand out in a sea of online co-op shooters, it’s a hard genre to break into anyway. Least we got some funny memes from its launch 😄

When they release a game like Saints Row it’s not surprising. Awful game.

@StonyKL I’m glad the Metro are mad, they get what they deserve. I doubt what the metro say about Starfield in a review eventually will matter at all, good or bad.

Edit: I went and had a quick look at the article. 😂 they’re mad they didn’t get a review code and are accusing Bethesda of foul play. They hand pick the 7/10 reviews and make no mention of the good ones. I’m sure when they do drop their review now it’ll be completely unbiased and not take any of that into consideration. What a joke of a website, completely unprofessional, doubt they’ll be getting anymore codes either 😂

@FenIsMightier yeah I finished it too and thought it was utter garbage. The only good parts imo were the Eikon fights. The rest is terrible. The most boring side quests in gaming history, one has you speaking to 6 different people and that was literally it 😂 and incredibly dull fetch quests included in the main quest you can’t avoid. It was that boring at times I was watching YouTube or listening to a podcast while working through it. I say working because it was so unenjoyable.

Also the combat was trash. Awful game.

Ps: we are such Xbox fanboys buying FF16 on PlayStation and playing it 🤣

Metacritic should not be taken seriously, we know bigger outlets are given more influence over the ‘metacritic’ score, which is hilarious because it goes against what metacritic is meant to be in every sense.

I wish websites and gamers alike would stop using it as some sort of pedestal for rating if a game is good or not, it’s a fake score system tainted by favouritism towards certain outlets.

Who could have seen stuff like this coming with the ludicrous rules of a billion $ company who want to control speech between grown adults.

No. Gears 5 suffered greatly from its mini open worlds and it destroyed the pace of the game. Going full open world with icons all over the map and side missions isn’t Gears, it’s any number of other open world games out there.

Give me a tight, fun, on the rails cover shooter with a good story. That’s when Gears was at its best.

@Kaloudz they do indeed but I’ve never had one! It’s meant to be surprisingly delicious, the light crisp of the batter and the gooey inside from the Mars bar 🤤 you’re making me want one.
