We know that so many Xbox fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Baldur's Gate 3 on Series X and Series S in the near future, and Larian Studios is continuing to suggest it'll be with us before the end of 2023.
Just a few days ago, Larian's Director of Publishing, Michael Douse, advised that it's still the "plan" to bring Baldur's Gate 3 to Xbox consoles over the next couple of months, echoing what has been said in the past:
"Before the end of the year is the plan. This has been said a few times..."
At one point, it was actually mentioned that Baldur's Gate 3 could release on Xbox before the end of November, but with just a few weeks to go until that point, it feels like it perhaps could get delayed into the final month of the year.
It's a very busy time for new Xbox releases anyway right now, so it probably works out best that BG3 needs a few more weeks in the oven. Hopefully we'll be having a blast with the game this winter on Series X and Series S!
When do you think we'll see BG3 on Xbox? Give us your predictions down in the comments below.

No rush, take your time and bring us the best version possible please. Even if it's a 2024 release I would be OK with that also.
Nice. Guess, I will buy it for Xbox, too, just to support Larian and to go on this brilliant RPG adventure one more time.
I would like an estimated Month of release even if they said December or February it would help my anxiety lessen lol
I've played it on PS5 and got bored personally. I don't see what all the fuss is about but maybe that's just me. Some say it'll be GotY but I don't think so. Zelda will snag that easy beating even Spider-Man and Starfield.
@GADG3Tx87 it’s between ToTK and BG3 for GoTY I think. I don’t think SM2 was ever in the running even with mainly positive reviews. There’s a heck of a list to round out a top10 after Zelda/BG3.
I think I'll be playing Rogue Trader first, so no rush for me now.
I have put well over 270 hours into my first run of Baldur's Gate 3, and am currently on the end boss. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this game will win every single Game of the Year award that it is nominated for. It is a true masterpiece.
I have the game on the PC, and an unopened Collector's Edition for the PlayStation. I will, without any hesitation, be buying the game on the Xbox too. I already have a number of different playthroughs planned, and cannot wait to try them out.
I have been playing games for approaching 50 years (I started with Pong!), and have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is the best game ever made. Over 270 hours in a single playthrough, and I really don't feel as if I am done with the game. There have been scenes that have made me laugh, and others that have been truly emotional. Such a good game. Honestly, if you are sat on the fence, then get off it, and play the game, I really do not think that you will be disappointed...
@Fiendish-Beaver As someone with no Dungeons & Dragons or Baldur's Gate experience, do you think I could still get into it?
I'm saving up my Microsoft Rewards points for the Xbox release!
As long as they ship a complete game with few bugs I prefer them to ship it when it is ready.
Unfortunately, I don't get a lot of gaming time so I am backlogged heavily. Still working my through Diablo, spent only a small time with Starfield, haven't even touched Forza Motorsport yet. Not to mention many other games that have shipped and are going to still ship this year.
@FraserG im like you. Not into D&D or previous BG games but I’ve been enjoying BG3, it stands on its own.
@Fiendish-Beaver I’m still on act 1. 35 hours in. I like the game overall but for me it has a few issues. I’ve been playing through as an utter ***** and to me some content seems unfinished or not very well executed if you make certain choices, I can’t really go into it without spoilers so I won’t here. I will say playing as a bad person it feels like the game massively punishes you for your choices 😂 party members have already left or I’ve killed them. I’ve had a few annoying bugs too. It’s not held my attention like I thought it would, but I’d still like to see it win GOTY.
Truthfully, @FraserG, I had no experience of Dungeons & Dragons gameplay prior to BG3. I had played both the Divinity Original Sin games, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I guess those games me some small understanding of the type of game it might be, but then initially I was somewhat flummoxed by the dice side of things. It probably took me a good 10 hours to understand what all that meant, but once that clicked, everything else just slotted neatly in place.
I think ultimately, a good game will always be just that. I have no hesitation in recommending it as a fantastic game, but I will say that it does not hold your hand at all. It is a case of working it out for yourself. If you are remotely interested, then I would suggest giving it a go. I don't think you will be disappointed...
i hope it'll be november
Man. This has been an absolute mess.
Hopefully Microsoft sees the error of S/X parity sooner rather than later.
Interesting, @Fenbops. I am playing as the polar opposite to you. A totally nice young lady! I'm not in real life; I'm a grizzled old man! 😂 However, for my next playthrough, I am looking at playing as thoroughly evil. From what I've read, there are only a couple of characters that will generally be happy with you going through the game killing absolutely everyone. I hope that that is the case because I can only imagine how difficult the game will become later on if you are running solo. I know Larian have catered for the possibility of someone killing literally everyone in the game, but how that pans out story wise, I'm not so sure. I'll be curious to see what you think come the end...
@Fiendish-Beaver That sounds good to me! I've been fascinated by everything about it so far... will definitely be getting it day one
Sweet, @FraserG. Let me know how you get on. I'm going to have to make contact with Larian, I think I've got them a few sales now... 😂
i bought it for playstation, kind of wish i'd waited as i haven't really had time to even get into it
But when do we get Suika Game
I not excited by this at all. I could buy on my PS5 if i was. I like combat, games like Gears, The Last of Us, God of War, Diablo 4, etc, turn based combat just seems boring to me. I mean who fights like that!? I hit you, you hit me, i hit you, you hit me… 🥱 🥱
@Pimpernel
Who hits people and a number of damage is taken off them, and who can throw an axe and it magically comes back to them? Sit down before you hurt yourself
@ZuneTattooGuy who hit people and number of damage taken??? Err, anyone who fight!! You take damage and lose energy an strength if ya fight! Try watch boxing or MMA!! As for the axe that’s irrelevant. That’s a fantasy character ability, that fine. If God of War took it in turn to hit each it other it wouldn’t be masterpiece that it is!! It be silly an boring!
@Pimpernel
I've watched boxing and never saw numbers come out of either fighter. And the new God of Wars are very boring compared to the original series. I see you are just about graphics not actual gameplay
@ZuneTattooGuy original GoW is great but i much prefer PS4/PS5 games. Graphics are important but not defining factor. Minecraft doesn’t have good graphics an my kids love that. Numbers come out of character in turn based games, you’re right, it stupid. I like my combat like Spiderman 2 combat. Fast paced, exciting and incredible looking. Not i hit you! Bang! 63 points! You hit me! Bang! 47 points! I hit you! Bang! 61 points! You hit me….🥱🥱🥱
@Pimpernel
The fact you said you played Minecraft as a kid means you haven't seen and appreciated videos games since the beginning you started when graphics were already good. As someone who grew up with the original Nintendo Entertainment System I can appreciate games for a whole lot more than graphics.
