I'm picturing a large oval glass table and leather seats. Power Point. Charts and graphs. Slide deck briefly shows how it has a few unique attributes, but more importantly uses existing code so nothing needs to be generated. Bean Counters take over the presentation and show how if they can stay afloat on microtransactions for 2 weeks, the game will begin to turn a small profit. If they can reach 12 weeks, the chart begins to show very green candles rising and serious profit is realized. Analysts take over and demonstrate that while Social Media will show anger towards the product, a disproportionate larger number will play regardless of the loud voices in Twitter because it's "free". Executives decide to green light the project based on the 2 week window to marginal profits. Go go go. XD
Last night was trying to turn in my XBox Weekly via the Rewards app on the Xbox. Just could not do it. I was eventually getting notices that it needed to be reinstalled. I gave up and went to bed. Planned on trying again later today.
Boo. With no single player campaign, I will just watch the pretty trailers and look to something else to play. If you are into BF multiplayer, then this one looks like it will rock your world. But I find it funny because I watched the 4 minute trailer and it just felt so strongly like it was telling a single player story.
I got this for my XSX and was equally puzzled by the even lack of X/S on the new icon... followed by the fact it doesn't even force an install to the internal drive. Wreckfest remains dutifully on my external even with the upgrade. It certainly looks better and no, we haven't seen 24 yet either.
I LOL'ed for real last night when my little red, cutesy fox gunned down a cat. Achievement unlocked for 1st kill. I played 3 more rounds, but the fun slowly faded and I was left asking myself, Why am I doing this?
I love in-game music and these are great. I also noticed that my 14 year old daughter was doing some sketching the other day and I asked her what she was listening to. She removed her headphones and showed me her play list of video game music from Minecraft to BOTW. I was blown away. I think it must be in the genes.
I always enjoy E3 and look forward to any and all news about games. People at work get so... grouchy and crabby... about video games and what's out, what's supposed to be out, and why one's better than another. So much anger over things I play to enjoy. I feel like things are on a whole new [grouchy] level these days.
We have played out FH4, yet this morning preparing for work, there was my son still at it. Forza Horizon has always been his go-to game. The recent addition of Snowrunner to GP has his attention, but he can't fail to still bring up FH4.
We are the perfect FH customer too. We buy the DLCs and car packs. When at the store and he sees FH Hot Wheels (because this co-branding isn't new to FH), he buys those with his money.
He's currently saving for his own Lambo, but at age 11, he has a long way to go.
I utilized Microsoft Rewards points to make this purchase/preorder, so won't necessarily have that Ouch-Factor from having opened my actual wallet. I think I can still have fun with this. I think.
I love my electric volt. Was using Series X black and got the shock blue, but my son took that over with his grimy hands. So this was a new one just for me.
As for Share buttons, I do sincerely wish we could redefine the button for our own choosing. I have also snapped so many screenshots of useless BS when my thumbs are flailing.
I know this family is waiting for it. My son beat the game on regular mode and then we got the expansion and he beat it twice more with that new mode it offered. I still will see him playing it today to just run around and explore.
I was thinking closer to $100. Special controller design, but still a standard controller plus the recharging base. Yet it sell out and remain sold out at $180 making further collaborations start at $180 now as a baseline.
I had a long chat with the XBox Store once about this. When you preorder and then one week prior, they will do this Rewards cash back thing, the XBox Store sees your preorder date as your purchase date. So for the MS Rewards you are technically out of the window. I have learned since then to simply wait for one week prior. You are still preordering and getting any goodies and also getting the Rewards.
Series X here. Everyone assumes the broadband/internet in their backyard is the same for all. Streaming is right out for us. We still try due to the age we live in now, but we buffer for long periods of time where we have learned to use the bathroom or get new popcorn/snacks. So for my family dvds and blu-rays are the ticket. When any game needs an update, I leave it for the overnight or the work day. If it was the game I was hoping to play, well there's always tomorrow...
Ghosts n Goblins was the bane of my high school existence. I can still hear the opening sequence music in my head... I had to listen to it so many times.
While it is essential for me and my family, I know my brother and his family do not subscribe and probably won't. They wander in and wander out of the Live Gold account. Now that the free games do not require Live, they likely will stop subscribing all together.
Oh heck yes. Can't wait. My PC cried tears of pain when I attempted to run Flight Sim when it released last year. I got a taste of it by reducing visuals (a lot), but nothing to write home about. Now to see it on my Series X on the 4k television, running as it should? Oh my.
I know I have enjoyed my time in Outriders via Gamepass. I'm not hardcore or anything and yes the voice acting is a bit crummy at time, I did find myself really LOLing in a few interactions. When this inventory bug became present, it hit my coworker hard and I heard all about it. He even became unable to log in with his main. It never touched my account, but I kept hearing his complaints.
I took the hint and put my playing on pause for a bit. Tonight I was going to check out Rain/Parade game. I am still looking forward to starting Outriders up again.
2K21 Divot Derby changed it all for me. That took good a game and made it great. I am hoping for 2K22 in next gen. I would also dabble in EA's offering, especially if Gamepass'ed. A little competition between titles is only goodness for us.
This game was just stupid fun. I picked it up on BF for some crazy low price and played it right to the end. The level cap was problematic and reached way too quickly, so I'm glad they are raising it. 40 still feels too low... but I guess we'll see!!
@UltimateOtaku91 Dude, I never really thought about it, but you're right. I just opened MC Dungeons and Hellblade on my S20 and I am left with 0.5 inch gaps on the left and right of the game screen.
Yet when Microsoft shows it off, the game is edge to edge.
Here's what I know happened to me. I have the Series X. On Friday I paid the $10 for the X/S cross. From my point of view, other than a 10mb file being downloaded, nothing happened.
Meanwhile everyone was talking about freezing and crashing, but I was still able to play. But nothing seemed different.
Last night (Monday) I was cruising the store and saw that it claimed I owned the Deluxe X/S version (blue border). The store wanted to download it and install, but only to my internal.
So I did so. Then I had two copies of TH on my system, one as the XBox One version on my SSD external and one as the X/S version on my internal. The icon was now blue bordered and had the X/S labeling.
When I play the XBox One version, no problems. When I play the X/S version from my internal, it locks up immediately upon getting to the menu screen. It just freezes. No choices made. Just completely frozen. I have to force quit it via the XBox button on the controller.
So hell yes, Activision has some 'splaining to do. I can't even make a menu choice on the X/S version. I now feel the pain everyone else has been saying all weekend.
The disk version makes no sense at all when they are doing it for the PS4 disk version apparently. But $10 more when I paid $40 last summer doesn't strike me as end of the world.
It's just the Deluxe price I didn't feel necessary to get back then to get a few additional clothing items. If they had said Deluxe version AND Next Gen upgrade, I would have gotten it without question.
I'll be spending the $10. My wife adores the game and plays it a lot. I want to see the next gen as well...
Super happy that Achievements are coming back to the mobile app. I'm still holding out for the return of the store. Quite a number of my digital titles were bought on my lunch break while window shopping in the app.
I have a Black controller that came with my Series X (Nov 10th) and a Blue controller (Nov 12th) that I couldn't say no to. No issues to report. I will consider myself lucky then.
I can connect my Oculus 2 to my Windows 10 PC, I would similarly love to connect to my Series X. Even if just to explore games on a theater sized screen in front of me. If Flight Sim this summer could bring the VR from the PC to the XBox as well, even better.
I was checking through the Gamepass app on my phone this morning and NBA 2K tries to install as a Series X/S at 105GB because I have a Series X tied to my system. So the option is there right from the Gamepass app. It then just stalls out as I was waiting this morning. I tried again and once more, the NBA title attempts to install as Series X/S.
I then learned I had to unselect X/S and it then switches over to the XBox One variant at 75GB.
I just found it curious that the app itself is trying to install the X/S version at 105GB because I own the Series X.
We still play RB4 today! This is great news! During the opening days of 'Rona last year, my wife and I got the band back together. Later my daughter joined to tap on the drums. It still is a great social game for a household.
I recall during the launch it was near impossible to get a 360. I eventually had to frantically grab a so-called Platinum or Gold bundle with like 5 games. Blew my budget out the window. But it was so worth it. Through the years I ended up with three. I loved the upgradeable hard drive on the top of the chassis. I still have the black 360 S in my entertainment center today. I keep it there because it still plays the OG Xbox games I own and it is nice to bring it up every so often.
I tried the PS3 briefly in the overlap years, but I found myself always returning to the 360. So I think I sold that PS3 to fund the black 360 S.
