You've got to love Microsoft's commitment to backwards compatibility! The Xbox team has announced today that 16 classic original Xbox and Xbox 360 titles are now available via the cloud, with more to come soon.
These are available to access for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on Android devices (via Project xCloud), and not only that, but Jetpac Refuelled, Viva Pinata, and Viva Pinata TIP are all getting touch controls as well.
Here's the full list of games that are now supported via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate:
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Banjo-Tooie
- Double Dragon Neon
- Fable II
- Fallout: New Vegas
- Gears of War 2
- Gears of War 3
- Gears of War: Judgment
- Jetpac Refuelled (touch controls enabled)
- Kameo
- Perfect Dark
- Perfect Dark Zero
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Viva Piñata (touch controls enabled)
- Viva Piñata: TIP (touch controls enabled)
The Xbox team is calling this a "new journey for the backward compatibility program," explaining that making games from previous generations available on mobile devices has been a very highly requested feature.
"Being able to take a trip down memory lane either to relive past memories or make new ones with a classic is delightful and critical to preserving gaming’s history.
We’ve enabled this experience through our backward compatibility program, launched in 2015. Since then we’ve launched multiple consoles and are still committed to making games across generations available to you no matter the hardware."

Banjo Kazooie is all i need!
They need to stop showing Xcloud running fullscreen as that's not how it works.
I've tried it on 3 different phones and none of them allow fullscreen.
@UltimateOtaku91 Dude, I never really thought about it, but you're right. I just opened MC Dungeons and Hellblade on my S20 and I am left with 0.5 inch gaps on the left and right of the game screen.
Yet when Microsoft shows it off, the game is edge to edge.
Morrowind not available yet, at least for me.
This is awesome, more cloud games the better even if none of these are for me!!
Awesome! Still hoping we get Xbox Cloud gaming brought to iOS, PC and consoles soon but they don't seem to be mentioning it so probably still a way off
Meanwhile, back at Sony HQ: Who plays old games? Let's shut down the store for old consoles and keep this old trash in the bin.
Keep it up MS! One of the reasons why I switched to Xbox.
LOL. Xbox legacy content expansion! For a good time bring up two browser tabs and load this page and Push Square. Toggle back and forth and laugh maniacally. Save this date. And here we thought it was just going to be the day that Mario died.
@orionreplay @UltimateOtaku91 the screen ratio isn't 16:9, that's why it's not full screen!?
@NEStalgia
I hope I won't live to see this day (when Mario dies). I do visit Push Square just to read those guys argue that nobody wants to play legacy games. Since I got my Xbox that's what I've been mostly playing (right now Halo Reach and RDR1).
@lostfields ah I see but what phones have that ratio? I have used the note10, huawei p30 pro and currently the galaxy s21 plus and none of them are fullscreen compatible. Not that it matters all that much but would love fullscreen games like on stadia
You know what Banjo Kazooie on xCloud sounds fun
Maybe I can finally play those games and see what all the hype was about
@UltimateOtaku91 I've never noticed that before, it probably blends in with the controller so I don't see it. Moving forward that's probably all I will see now
@UltimateOtaku91 if we're talking only on flagships then Galaxy S7 is the last from Samsung to have 16:9 aspect ratio. Others might have did it first but i only remember that S8 was the first one to start with wider-than-widescreen aspect ratio trend on Android phones.
Dunno about Stadia but that just how it is playing 16:9 games on wider screens. Unless MS somehow can implement a tech on xcloud system level that let these games have dynamic aspect ratio, then it's black bars left and right.
Viva Piñata could actually be a very good fit with the touch controls.
Hope they do another game in that series one day.
@TheFrenchiestFry Me too, never played Banjo Kazooie. Or Perfect Dark for that matter. I really should get round to more N64 games.
Hopefully Ninja Gaiden Black and Mirror’s Edge will be added soon. Although Ninja Gaiden might be a bit hard (well even harder than usual) with the streaming lag.
@UltimateOtaku91 hey just tested this out and was able to get full screen. If you have an Android, turn off the 3-key navigation from your phone & go to "gestures" or whatever lets you have a full screen without the triangle / circle / square navigation buttons. I was instantly able to get fill screen afterwards. Let me know if it works!
@orionreplay hey just tested this out and was able to get full screen (copy pasted my answer here). @Kilamanjaro I'm on galaxy s21 plus and turned off the navigation bar and set it to gestures like you said, I booted up gamepass and clicked to play wolfenstein young blood and it didn't work even though I had a message saying playing in full screen whilst the little rocket loading screen was on, I also tried it with hellblade and it was the same
I'm happy to see Banjo-Kazooie available on billions devices now and hoping for a new game.
@nessisonett @TheFrenchiestFry Let me also recommend Viva Piñata if you haven’t play it
