Re: The Initiative Partners With Crystal Dynamics On Perfect Dark

edusoares

I wonder why is a problem that iniative, a new studio, is being helped by crystal dynamics but is not an issue that santa monica have and external studio helping with god of war ragnarok.

Its so tiring to see people bash xbox just because without minimum research about how common this is in the game industry.

Also, "what were they doing last 3 years". You don't just say "lets make perfect dark" and it's all set. There are lots of ideas being thrown in, and discussion, and sometimes, after months the project is finally defined, then start the concept process, images, arts, scripts (sometimes multiple scripts til it get approved), then, when all concept is set and approved the game development takes off. This happens with every single game, you just don't know about it. A real example from the industr: Horizon Zero Dawn was conceived in 2010, development started 2011, the game was announced in 2015 and the final game released in 2017. There is nothing wrong with perfect dark development, that is just how development process is.

Re: Reaction: Gamescom Has Proved Not Everything Needs A Digital Showcase

edusoares

That's so tiresome. This never ending thought that every single event has to bring all AAA games in the world. I found amazing that in a event with more than 40 Games people still can't find anything they can enjoy to play, and go out talking how bad the event was. I'm sorry, but if in 2 days of event with more than 40 games being showed and you couldn't find anything to your like the problem isn't the event.

There is also people that complain about interviews on those events, even with the organizers stating this will happen before the event date. Microsoft said 'keep expectations low' and there were people expecting big announcements on Xbox showcase. It's complicated to satisfy a group of people that simply don't read events descriptions and then complain about said events.

If you don't like interviews, just watch the compact video that releases just after those events to be aware of everything presented.

The most unsatisfied community in the world is gaming community, the complaint has no end.

Re: 343 Industries Explains The Lack Of Halo Infinite Campaign Footage

I don't know if i'll be alone in this but I didn't have any issue with Halo 4 or 5, both were pretty good to me.
About Didact, yeah, his death happens on the comics, Halo Escalation, I start to reading it after finishing Halo 5 and it helps a lot with the story, it also develops Sara Palmer and other Characters more, filling a few blanks that happen between Halo 4 and 5, I recommend anyone to read Halo Escalation comics, it is great.

Re: Phil Spencer Praises PS5 DualSense, Says There's More Work To Do With The Xbox Controller

I would love if they addedd adaptive triggers to SX controllers. I just don't want they to mess with the AA batteries. I like to have the option. By the way, I use rechargeable AAs.

People keep saying AA is old tech, but honestly, AAs on Xbox controller last long then PS4 Controller battety. I would rather have an old tech battery that last long then a modern ome that can handle my gameplay time.

Re: Talking Point: Are Next-Gen Upgrades Worth Getting An Xbox Series X|S For?

edusoares

I can't answer this without bias. I love to play on Xbox so I would get a Series S or X anyway and I did. So far experience has been great on the Series S. Game pass is awesome, there is always something new to play and xbo exclusives all there. Quick resume is one of the best features the console has, it's so fast to get back in game after a coulpe hours, you turn on the console and done, that's it, it's ready to play. Most of the optimized games had 60fps upgrade on Series S and that alone was pretty cool. You can fell fluidity that you can't on Xbox One. So far Xbox Series S had been pretty much worthy.

Re: It's Official, Microsoft Is Bringing Next-Gen Games To Xbox One Via The Cloud

The biggest problem with the thinking that exclusives are the only reason to own a console is that you create a narrative that only exclusives matter. Multiplatforms and even the hardware are useless, the only purpose for the hardware is to play exclusive titles.

This generates reactions like people saying if sony keep releasing games on PC they will left PS and go to PC instead. Now, if you look to Series X the console is was sould out everywhere at launch and it launched with no exclusives and few Series X optimized titles. Why was it sold out?! because people bought the hardware by the hardware. The same reason people buy new GPUs, they want to play the games they already have better. And that is what series X|S gives, better graphics, better performance, better backwards compatible games, 120fps.

This way MS can market Xbox consoles and games as two different products. They can sell us the hardware even if we didn't get interested by their first party new games, as they are not saying we need Xbox to play Forza for example, they saying we need Xbox to Play Forza best, but also to Play FIFA best, to play 360 titles with more performance, to play whatever you want with the best quality ever on a console. That is why they don't need to associate Xbox Consoles with exclusivity.

@Snake_V5 I bought a Series S and I'm perfectly fine with it. I even plan to upgrade to Series X in the future. Even if Xbox One can stream Netx-gen games we can't pretend that suddenly streaming is the perfect solution for gaming and local play isn't necessary. If that was true Stadia would be a success.

Streaming is years away of be a solution that can compete with the power of local play. I've Finished Yakuza 5 entirely through xCloud, the service is great, but it wasn't the best quality all the times, I had stutters sometimes and quality wasn't always great. xCloud is a good way to play new games on old or weak hardware but by no means it is a replacement for local console or pc gaming.

Re: Rare's Everwild Has Reportedly Been Rebooted With Banjo-Kazooie’s Lead Designer Now Helming The Project

edusoares

I don't think everwild ever got a release date that being the case there is no such a thing as delay for games that never had a release date to begin with. Xbox is in a position they can release Everwild in 2024 with no problens as they have plenty of studios with projects in the works. 2021 has pretty good games coming in psychonauts 2, halo infinite, fh5 and flight sim, 2022 is packed with new games, including new first party IPs like, RedFall, Starfield, Contraband. 2023 is expected to have Perfect Dark, Avowed and others.we didn't see compulsion new project yet, so there is that too. Everwild can take the time it needs, Xbox will be just fine.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Xbox & Bethesda's E3 2021 Showcase?

edusoares

I was expecting 3 major things:

  • New IP
  • Games with release dates
  • Something new to play at the day of the event.

That said, It was a great show for me. Way beyond my expectations. Great games for this year, great games for next year, new additions to game pass just after the event. Psychonauts 2 getting a release date was an extra since I had finished the first game the night before the showcase. I can easily wait to next year games as game pass will have at least 1 new game every single month from this month to december. 5 of those game pass games are from Xbox Game Studios. Until the end of this year XGS will have a game launch every month with exception of september. To me this event was perfect as I started enjoying the announcements just after the show and I already have plenty of things to look forward. It was an A, a 10 out of 10 for me.
