Re: The Ascent Dev 'Actively Working On Fixes' For Reports Of Co-Op Issues

SacredPYRO

Finished the game and loved it. Played single player and only had a few issues. A couple of quests didn't update after completing an objective but a quit to dashboard and reload fixed that.

A rather funny bug I encountered was 2 boss fights (mecharacnid and havoc) both spawned in 4 bosses on the first encounter as if I was playing 4 player co op. Needless to say they were near instant deaths and on the next attempt just a single boss spawned. Was a proper lol and wtf moment 😂😂😂

The game looks absolutely incredible on XSX even without all the bells and whistles. Some of the panaramic views are real wow moments. Only fix I am waiting for is the bugged codex achievements so I can 100% this.

EDIT: I would like to add that I just wished they had made the fast travel system better. Having to fast travel to an arcology, to then walk for a minute to the elevator, to then fast travel to your destination did start to grind on me towards the end of my playthrough. I would make the taxi system take you to anywhere you have unlocked and use the train to get to areas not yet visited. My only gripe with the game

Re: Everything You Need To Know About The Ascent On Xbox Game Pass

SacredPYRO

This and FH5 are my most anticipated games this year. Sadly though due to the release time and installing a new bathroom this weekend looks like it will be Monday before I can play. Regardless of review scores I'll still be sinking some hours into this but I do hope it reviews well. Between this, Deaths Door and Flight Simulator all in one week it is nothing but good news for Xbox

Re: Random: Team Xbox Wants To Know The First Xbox Game You Ever Played

SacredPYRO

Used to play Halo every weekend at a mates house when it first released. I didn't have a console at the time but went out and got the PC version of Halo. I got my first xbox for my 16th birthday along with Halo 2 and an xbox live subscription. Me and my mates playing 4 player split screen, online, huddled round a 16" CRT tv 🤣

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 17th)

SacredPYRO

@Mamabear just finished Quantum Break (GamePass quests made me download it and I stuck around after), really enjoyed it and the TV episodes were novel and did a great job of showing character development outside the main storyline. As an Xbox exclusive of last generation I can't understand why this was marketed better. Did 2 playthroughs to get all the choices and difficulty cheevos. It has also urged me to download Control too and give that a spin.

Other than that, the usual Sea of Thieves with family, Warzone with the lads and if I get chance want to check out Bloodroots.

Re: Phil Spencer Finally Reveals Why He Has A Nintendo Switch On His Shelf

SacredPYRO

@UltimateOtaku91 my wife got me one for my birthday in February and it's not been touched in months. It feels horrible in portable mode and makes my hands ache, I preferred my 2DS. All the blockbuster games are still the same price they were when they released and I can't comprehend paying those prices when I have game pass. Begrudgingly forked out for BoTW, played it, finished it, loved it, now my Switch has nothing to do. Honestly do not understand the hype, kinda wish I was given a PS4, could have spent the same amount on games and got 4-6 equally good if not better experiences.

I wanted one for something to play on my breaks at work to help quit smoking and I just play on xcloud instead. Even if game pass were to come to switch the controls feel so horrible I would still use a xbox controller and phone clip

Re: Nacon Connect To Feature 'Three Exclusive Reveals' This Tuesday

SacredPYRO

Looking forward to more Blood Bowl 3 deets, hoping for crossplay. Loved BB2 but the xbox community was tiny in comparison to PC and pretty much all league play was PC based. Ended up buying it again on Steam but when your PC is as old as mine it was a real chore just to load up.

Gollum has me interested too.

Re: Talking Point: Are Next-Gen Upgrades Worth Getting An Xbox Series X|S For?

SacredPYRO

I'm certainly glad I managed to get a Series X, from a tech stand point it certainly feels like next gen. Smart Delivery, Quick Resume and FPS Boosts are all brilliant and much more noticeable on games that I have played on both generations. As someone has stated earlier the instant mermaid teleports in Sea of Thieves are amazing.

Although the lack true next gen experiences is kind of disappointing the line up of games to come looks incredible and will be a formidable catalogue by the end of next year. With game pass I'm never short of something to play or at least try anyway.

Could I have waited to upgrade? Definitely. Would I go back now? Certainly not. Don't think I would be able to play Sea of Thieves or Warzone on my One X now. Getting the "first blood +100" pop up in warzone lobbies quite often is strangely satisfying 🤣

Re: These Games Are Coming To Xbox This Week (June 29 - July 2)

SacredPYRO

@Cherip-the-Ripper by all means give it a go, especially if you have game pass. I'd hate to put someone off from at least trying a game just because of my opinion. There's obviously a lot of people out there who love it and the review scores for it were great. I'm having fun with D&D Dark Alliance and the reviews for that were pretty bad, each to their own.

Re: These Games Are Coming To Xbox This Week (June 29 - July 2)

SacredPYRO

@The_New_Butler just talking about 2016 puts a smile on my face. I'm gonna give Eternal another go but feel I may just install 2016 for another blast. I need something to tide me over until The Ascent. Just finishing a Dishonored playthrough as I finished Death of the Outsider last week and never played the DLC for the first one, they bridge the gap nicely between 1 and 2 and wish I had played them the first time round.

Re: These Games Are Coming To Xbox This Week (June 29 - July 2)

SacredPYRO

@Cherip-the-Ripper I'm also in the camp of couldn't get in to it. I absolutely loved Doom 2016 but the mindless fun I had with 2016 just seems missing from Eternal. There's more thinking involved with the combat sequences, having to use specific weapons and mods to take down enemies, having to set enemies on fire before killing them for armour. I miss shooting things in the face with whatever weapon I am holding then punching them when they start flashing 😂😂 I know this is still possible in Eternal but it's not the way it was designed

Never finished Eternal so might give it another go with its new lick of paint.

Re: Mini Review: Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance - It's Dangerous To Go Alone, So Bring Some Friends

SacredPYRO

@Tasuki the devs have said that local 2 player split screen is a priority and should be ready for the first free dlc. I'm looking forward to this, although I enjoyed outriders the loot grind wasn't very good, hoping this scratches the itch. I like the risk/reward ideas of the campfires, means playing slower and more tactical has bigger benefits than running in and button mashing.

Re: 343 Industries Is Hiring New Talent To Help Out With Halo

SacredPYRO

@StonyKL they are definitely worth visiting again. Halo 1-3s campaigns and MP were ahead of thier time. Didn't like the Reach campaign as much but the MP was incredible. As for Halo 4 and 5........ meh, couldn't get into them, never finished 4 and had to really drag myself through 5. Not really hyped for Halo Infinite because of the last 2 entries but I am very interested to see if they can turn it around. I hope they do just for Xboxes sake.

Re: Battlefield 2042 Won't Feature A Single-Player Campaign, And Here's Why

SacredPYRO

I know it has disappointed a lot of people but I very rarely play the SP of these military shooters. It's all about gaming with my friends for online shooters, without a co-op feature it's purely MP for me. Games with co-op campaign s (halo/gears) I'm all for it. Got battlefield 1 and 5 day one and I think I finished 3 missions collectively over both games.

I'm sure DICE looked at the numbers for campaign completion against player base before they made the decision. I am however in full agreement that it seems steep to charge that much for MP only when there are plenty of MP shooters out there that are free to play.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About Cross-Gen Games?

SacredPYRO

I'm fine with it to be fair as stated earlier a lot of games releasing now were well into development before new gen tech was available. I feel with the shortage of consoles that this current gen launch has seen it will take longer for the cross gen stuff to fade because developers can't make thier money back on the small player bases of the current gen.

Re: Poll: How Many Points Have You Earned In May's Microsoft Rewards 10K Xbox Challenge?

SacredPYRO

@VenomousAlbino yeah, I watched a YT video giving the exact same advice thank you though. After all these years of being a proper achievement whore I have finally come to terms with not having to 100% every game. I would much rather leave a game with fond memories than bitter ones because of really grindy/difficult achievements. Picked up the last few gamerscore naturally from Yakuza.

Re: Poll: How Many Points Have You Earned In May's Microsoft Rewards 10K Xbox Challenge?

SacredPYRO

Got all 10k, back up to about 38k points after emptying all mine into a Series X 3 months ago (£120 off). Donut County and Pikunika (2 fun little indie games, loved the humour in them both)
Doom 64 (cheesed it)
Korgan (free game, easy 1k, game seemed very basic though)
Walking Dead: Michone and New Frontier (Solid TTG entries)
Sea of Solitude (OKish game, loved the art style though)
Call of the Sea (Great puzzle game, awesome art style, had to use a guide for a couple of the puzzles though, I'm not that clever )
New Super Luckys Tale (Classic 3D platforming, really enjoyed it but skipped 2 no damage achievements)
Maneater (Great concept, handles great but does get repetitive about halfway through)

£10 earned and got to play some cool games that I would have probably never touched otherwise. Looking at the news/comments though I'll probably be missed on the next one which is fine.

Re: Outriders Is Off To A Promising, But Turbulent Start On Xbox Game Pass

SacredPYRO

I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm lucky to have had only one disconnect so far and I'm level 22. Two things for me that set it apart from other games are the fact you can respec your build at any point for free if you want to change it up and the crafting system is really cheap so you aren't penalised for upgrading lower level gear

My Technomancer got a little samey so I respecced the skill tree and swapped all the mods on my gear and away I went with a completely different build.
