If you're located in a region that supports it (and sadly, we know plenty of fans still aren't), Microsoft Rewards is an amazing way to convert just a few minutes of work per-day into actual currency that can be used to buy Xbox games.
We're not going to go into the specifics of Microsoft Rewards here (you can find more exhaustive guides elsewhere on Pure Xbox), but rest assured it really is a legitimate way of earning enough points to buy full-blown AAA releases at launch, and we've heard plenty of stories from the pX community of doing just that with Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Resident Evil Village and many other highly-anticipated new titles in recent months.
So, with that said, we're interested to know which games and accessories you've splashed out your hard-earned points on over the months and/or years, and whether you were happy with those 'purchases', or whether you regretted using all your points in one go. Perhaps you typically save all your points to use on your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, or the wide range of various gift cards? There are loads of different ways to spend that virtual currency...
Let us know what you've bought with your Microsoft Rewards points down in the comments below.

I've decided I'm going to keep saving them until the Design Lab comes back and then put them towards getting the wife and I a controller each for our 10th wedding anniversary. Hopefully it returns soon; there's only about 2 months to go!
Currently nothing. I'm saving up to get Game Pass Ultimate.
Got All Access otherwise might use it for GP, instead I hoard them for vouchers - used them for money off the Seagate expansion for the XSX, to buy Immortals Fenyx Rising, Moving Out (as loved it on GP) and many DLC outright plus paid barely anything for ME Legendary Edition.
Been an amazing way to make games much more affordable - use a second family account too so it seems to pay really well...
Nothing, hope they never expire because I have never bothered to even look at my balance. Might just keep piling them up until I can buy an Xbox series X Pro or something like that 🙃
Got CoD MW, £50 off an elite controller and £120 off a series X plus a few dlcs and sale items. Can not complain at all. Back up to 40k points but will possibly hoard them until the mid gen console release.
I basically use them to buy Xbox vouchers to pay for season passes and other virtual currency
I never pile up a lot because I don't do all the Rewards quests and because I use them to buy games (most of the times when they are on sale) even though I'm subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate. I will spend them all on this weekend's sale. The only Assassin's Creed I don't own yet is Valhalla and I'm really interested in Immortals Fenyx Rising, too.
I use them for Game Pass Ultimate.
Game Pass! Also I redeemed a $10 gift card for an impulse buy when a sale came up.
I saved up a few months worth of points to grab the Expansion Card for £80. I felt £220 was too much to pay. Add to that the new Bluetooth Headset was never in stock on the Microsoft store, so now saving for that.
I did waste £15 worth of points on Necromunda: Hired Gun, sadly.
@djshep1973
Snap on Immortals - I bought AC Valhalla and WD Legion with my XSX and didn't play them as much combined as I did Immortals.
Was the perfect colourful, cheerful and fun game for winter nights I found...
I donate them to the non for profit charities. I really enjoy that is an option.
I've bought the following:
1. Life is Strange
2. Valiant Hearts
3. Deadlight
4. OlliOlli
All of the above were Dirt cheap. Now I'm saving up to get Judgment and Little Nightmares 2. Unless of course they hit game Pass in which case I'll get something else.
I just got Judgment with mine, and have bought plenty of other games in the past. Its a seriously good reward system.
Game pass ultimate is the thing I aim for each month. I've also bought Doom64 (ironically a few weeks before it was free on Game pass) and a lovely little game called Bomber Crew which is a real time management bombing sim?! Anyway, I've had a lot of fun playing it! In a way the rewards remind me a tiny bit of when Nintendo Club was running and there were lots of fun things to investigate.
I tend to buy DLC for games on gamepass with my rewards points - makes me feel like I'm giving something back to the developer in a weird way.
I didn't know this points thing existed for quite a few years.
So at the end of the last year to discover that I had maybe 6500, from memory, I just quite chuffed.
I play every single point that I had over the course of 45 minutes and some one-armed bandit game (with emphasis on the word BANDIT) to try and claim an XSX !
Do I really need to tell anyone here that the endeavour failed?
Lol
Hoarding for now (105,000+) but will likely use 35,000 to max out game pass ultimate again in a month or so now the EA Play loophole has been closed.
Other than that maybe save for a healthy discount on a bit of hardware like memory card, elite controller or perhaps just pick up a few games for free
I just preordered the ninja gaiden trilogy the other day. Hope it turns out well.
I got $100 off the expansion SSD card and I recently got four months of Gamepass ultimate.
@Halucigens me too. I just hope it's really going somewhere
I bought two tomb raider games and Witcher 2 on sale in January and now I'm back to 70K in points. Saving up for the memory card or a headset if it craps out before i get the mem card
I've been using bing rewards since the beta/preview launch strictly for Microsoft for points back then and Microsoft credit now.
I've literally bought several hundred dollars, possibly topping over a thousand, worth of games with them alone and honestly, people like me are probably why they reduced awarded account and increased the prices of things so much. Sorry...
@InterceptorAlpha you dirty SOB!!!!
Jokes aside good on you for getting your value from it. The points are fantastic and might lead to me buying DLC and games down the line.
@Tharsman last time I checked I think the Max amount of points is 400,000 for MS rewards.
@Halucigens this really put a smile on my face, thanks for doing that.
I bought many games on sale plus dlc. Added a lot to my backlog to be honest lol but it is a great way to get games or even dlc. I even use points to by the occasional 3 month Ultimate. Now I'm saving for a Seagate card for my XSX. If you aren't using the rewards, you're truly missing out
@Unfought_Battle it’s ok I just decided to finally look and after years I seem to only have 81k, doubt I’ll ever hit that cap (I don’t do my GamePass monthly challenges, just play games as I feel like it.)
Lots. Like my Series X, an SSD, a handful of games, and years and years of Live and GPU. I’m at 750k lifetime points.
Bought a few Xbox 360 games that were on sale & got the halo reach add on for the mcc
Ive brought 18 games so far just using my points
I have a steady stream of points coming in and I tend to spend them on credit to spend on 360 games and their DLC. A few years ago, I never thought I would own all the pointless cosmetics in COD Ghosts, but with the extra cash (and me getting into the game again) why not fill up the 360 shopping cart
I use them fairly regularly. I used to be religious about doing all the daily sets and stuff but as much anymore. I really should get back on that.
I had just been redeeming when they hit the £5 threshold, but recently been saving them up. Not saving for anything in particular, but maybe an expansion card at some point (not needed one so far) or a headset or something. Or more likely, something will come up in the next sale and I'll spend the whole lot on more games I'll never have time to play
@Tharsman nice! I just figured mentioning it to you. I know some people saved points, got the xbox series s paid for just in points and another friend of mine used points to get Half off his purchase of the series x. Definitely worth it happy gaming man!
I'm trying to hold my nerve and save up enough points to get the 1TB Expansion Card.
Currently on 63k, so a LONG way to go! LOL
I've had 6 month's ultimate, Res evil village and now up to 71k in points. Back 4 Blood is my next purchase. Save for the full fat version.
I probably spent way too long collecting these things, but I finally spent my reward points on £135 worth of Currys vouchers, which I put towards a new laptop in the sales.
I did get to play some great games that I would've normally ignored though.
Now I'm starting all over again....
