Re: Microsoft Says To Expect 'New Surprises And First-Looks' From Xbox Games Showcase 2023

@Kaloudz Right, as always, mate!

I, too, think it had been a great year so far. To take one single failed game to go all doom and gloom, is a bit of a reach, IMO (let alone declaring the last nail in the coffin of the brand).

Since Last Christmas, I have played very good games on Xbox and on GPU, like A Plague Tale: Requiem, Eastward, As Dusk Falls and Pentiment. I'm still on Hi-Fi (around track 9), and the next ones are Ghostwire: Tokyo, Soul Hackers 2, Last Case of Benedict Fox and Redfall.

Re: Talking Point: Where Does Xbox Go Next If ActiBlizz Deal Falls Through?

@Titntin Nicely put!

I don't know why, maybe it was because of the recent news and rumours about "Game So or So not selling well on Xbox", but many people are treating this deal as if Xbox life as a brand depends on it.

I don't see it that way (but anyway, what do I know?), but many people are happy to shout that this will be a killer blow for the Xbox division.

Re: Quantum Break Returns To Xbox Game Pass Following Brief Absence

Great news! Of course, I have already beaten this one on GP (as I looove Remedy games, like Control and Alan Wake). This one and Hellblade were the first games I beat on Game Pass (and I bought the two later, as they're on sale very often).

Hope more people can try this one out. @themightyant Yes, give it a shot!

Re: Ubisoft Says 'Great Content' Will Allow Its Subscription Service To Compete With Xbox Game Pass

@Titntin Oh, thank you for the comment! . TBH, I may not have bought the DLC if it wasn't included on the sale, because I think the game is fine as it is and it was perfectly satisfying.

Having completed the main game (I think one year ago), I left the DLC for later. I only launched the one with the protagonist from another mythology (I don't remember which one, exactly). It looked great, but yeah, too samey-samey.

Having bought the Season Pass for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (hey, don't blame - I fell for Rayman!) and played the first content, I feel that Ubi is not so great at DLC - their games are already so massive that it looks like they run out of ideas with the post launch thing pretty quickly.

@Kaloudz @Banjo- I loved Immortals, I hope they gave us one sequel soon. I have yet to play the DLC (I bought the Gold Edition on one of that famous "Ubi sales", btw). Loved the Mario+ Rabbids series. Now I am having a blast with Far Cry 6 (this is my first one in the series, and it's great fun!).

I love classic Ubi and I have been playing some of their classic titles on Series X and Steam. Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia (the PS2 era trilogy was great!), Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil...these are IP other companies would kill for, I think.

Re: All Of These 60+ Games Are Included With Ubisoft Plus On Xbox

HarmanSmith

Of course, this new sub is a hard sell. Ubi tend to low their prices pretty soon and pretty often, as everyone has already said.

And on Xbox, I feel, is even a harder sell. Not only for the "Game Pass factor" (which, I think, offers more value), but if you're into the MS Rewards Program, you can get many Ubi games on sale with points.

For instance, I recently bought Far Cry 6 (with all the DLC) with my earned points.

Like many have said, this maybe work as an "occasional" sub, for a month or two.

Anyway, I like Ubi games, so I hope this service improves in the future.

@themightyant "Depends if you are using American English or British English".

Oh, maybe a little off topic, but thank you for this note!

I didn't know about this (not being a native english speaker myself, but inferred by how @BAMozzy writes). One can learn something new every day, indeed!

BTW, always glad to read the posts from both of you (@themightyant and @BAMozzy)

Re: Layers Of Fear's Next-Gen Remake Launches On Xbox In June 2023

HarmanSmith

@Kaloudz I felt the same way! Like, OK, this is the big next thing in horror and...nadah, just some nice ideas and some motion sickness, lol (IDK why, 'cause I am not prone to this as I have played many games with a first person perspective without issues). It just felt like a very "meh" game to me.

I know BT is a talented studio (otherwise, Konami wouldn't have chosen them for the Silent Hill remake) but I am not a fan. And the news about this remake must rank as the "least exciting game to (not) look forward to in 2023", XD.

I am not a fan of soulslike games (like you!), but "Lies of P" looks most appealing, even if there is a "close-to-zero" chance I will try it 😅.

Re: Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse Unveils Story Trailer As Xbox Pre-Orders Go Live

HarmanSmith

@Banjo- I know! I had a similar experience when I bought my PS4. When I had my PS3, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence was one of the digital PS2 games on the store. So, when I bought a PS4, I thought the same games were transfered to that digital store. But when I looked it up, no dice! No Castlevania: LoI, no Project Zero 1,2 or 3. I don't know why Sony didn't move those games to the PS4, but well, it was a case of "Sony being Sony", I guess.

BTW, what are your thoughts on the PS4, as it is the only PS you have had?

@EvilSilentFrame I was thinking the exact same thing! It is (along with 1) one of the scariest game I have ever played. Yet, it is beautiful in many, scary and creepy ways. A strong, interesting and (at least tome) poignant story, great art direction, great enemies...def, one of my all time faves!
