Remedy has finally peeled back the curtain a little bit further on the highly-anticipated Alan Wake 2! The team has showcased a first look at gameplay during PlayStation Showcase 2023, and we now have an official launch date too.
Alan Wake 2 hits Xbox Series X|S on October 17, 2023, and our initial glimpse at gameplay has certainly whetted our appetites for spooky season later this year. We've dropped Remedy's brand-new trailer up above.
Of course, the first Alan Wake was actually an Xbox exclusive at launch, but those days are long gone now that Remedy is teaming up with Epic Games to bring its lineup to multiple platforms. It still seems weird seeing Alan Wake at a PlayStation showcase, but alas, we're just happy Alan Wake 2 is still coming to Xbox - it's looking fantastic so far!

"Ritualistic murders in a small town. A writer trapped in a nightmare. An FBI agent looking for answers. Two realities. Two hero characters. One horror story that wants them dead."

Great! A day one buy for me, love the original and love Remedy.
Never played the first one, I think it's on my never-ending backlog. Unlikely to get to it this year.
I'm here for this, cannot wait
Yes yes yes! Played the remaster recently and appreciated it more than when I first played it on 360 so I can’t wait.
Looks amazing and max payne is in it
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Totally pre-ordering this
Why was Alan Wake xbox exclusive back in the xbox 360 days and is not anymore? this is one of the things that annoys me as a loyal xbox user. so many good games microsoft could not or didnt want to hold on as exclusive to make more money selling them everywhere. Cuphead and Ori also. No surprise we are losing two generations in a row.
@jikflet Remedy bought the rights back.
Shame it isn't getting a physical release.
Have to imagine Sony have the marketing rights to this? Which really would be crazy if true how MS could let that happen.
Gameplay looked great. Worrying news is there’s no physical planned for it… a trend we’ll likely see more of throughout this gen
Wish there was a physical release 😭
It's also a 60-dollar game! That's actually shocking for a AAA release in this day and age lol. To be fair, they won't release a physical edition to save some money.
