@Rural-Bandit LG have an app called LGTV-AR which uses augmented reality to show you what your TV will look like in your setup. Worth downloading on your phone or tablet to see if the size of TV you want is right for what you have.
@Dezzy70 I’ve also just joined the LG C1 club, having previously owned the C7. Fantastic combo having the Series X, TV and soundbar all working together, the picture and sound are amazing.
Back on topic, I was initially a little sceptical about the Series S however got one for my son. He’s never complained once about the small differences in performance, and the size of the console itself makes it perfect for a bedroom. Couldn’t be happier with it.
I used it at the start to pass the BT Vision box through it and enjoyed using it, even if the OneGuide was never 100% reliable. Once I got rid of BT however in never used HDMI pass through again. One thing I did use and still miss is the USB TV adapter that connected the TV aerial to the console via the USB port. I used that all the time for jumping between the TV app and Netflix, games etc.
@UltimateOtaku91 as long as you start to download them they are yours for as long as you have Gold. You don’t need to play them, just start the download then cancel it and it’ll be added to your library. The 360 and Original games are yours permanently if you start downloading them.
I really fancied giving this a shot but was out off by the price, especially when looking at the ultimate edition (or whatever it’s called). I’ll be great to actually try it before parting with the cash.
I need to plan my first flight. Thinking either taking off from Edinburgh, under the Forth Bridges and then the short hop overland to fly over my house, or something more exotic like taking off from Cairo and doing a flyby of the pyramids!
I had the USB TV tuner on my Xbox One and used it fairly regularly. I was disappointed that it wasn’t carried over to the Series X, but after six months I’ve realised that I don’t particularly miss it now. That may be more to do with the fact that I rarely watch live TV anymore, and when I do it’s something like Sky Sports with in I get though the NowTV app.
This has been on my radar since it was revealed a year or two back. Ryan McCaffrey at IGN has been singing it’s praises since then and every time I see it it gets more intriguing.
Just cashed in 130000+ Microsoft Reward points to get this and Resident Evil 8. Couldn’t resist Mass Effect even though I was planning on holding off until it was reduced in price.
I got this in the Christmas/New Year sale but haven’t played much until now. Played a bit over the past few days and I’ve enjoyed it so far. Looks good with the Series X upgrade too.
I picked Skyrim due to the sheer amount of hours I’ve put into it on the 360, then Xbox One, and also the Switch. Still finding new quests and secrets on every play through. There’s a few on the list there that I haven’t spent as much time with, so I’m currently giving Prey a run through. Really enjoying it so far, slightly different take on a FPS with an awesome setting which is quite refreshing.
I was waiting until it was patched to a decent standard until I played it. I think in the meantime I’ll just uninstall it and save the hard drive space.
@mousieone I don’t know the full ins and outs of it, but I would assume the console will handle it. Like right now I can try and set games (that support it) to 120fps mode but the console automatically detects that my tv doesn’t support it and greys out the option. So I would assume it’ll be a system level function.
@xMightyMatt14x @GreenVereda I agree it depends whether you lean more towards fantasy or post-apocalypse as your preferred genre. Either way both are fantastic.
@ralphdibny not sure about the 360 version of Sam Andreas. I do know that all three original 3D games were compatible on the 360, so find it strange that they never made the leap forward considering how popular the franchise still is.
Mortal Kombat 9 always seemed like a strange one to be missing, since the later two were released on the X1 and the first Injustice game was made backwards compatible.
At this point Konami might as well shut down their gaming division and sell their IPs to companies that actually want to, you know, make games? Games for video game consoles that is, not Pachinko machines.
A bit of a humiliating climb down that really didn’t need to happen in the first place. Microsoft have been pretty good about their pro-consumer policies over the past couple of years, but the price increase yesterday was reminiscent of their 2013 days.
It may be buggy and crash a lot, but it’s worth persevering for the rewards themselves. I’ve banked so many points that I’ve managed to redeemed enough Xbox Game Pass Ultimate that I don’t have to pay for it until 2024.
Tempted by Immortals. 40% off the base game or 20% off the deluxe version is quite a saving so soon after launch. Has anyone played it and do you recommend it?
@themightyant I’ve just booted it up with the mod, using the Resetera link so hopefully the achievements will still unlock. Impressed by how smoothly its running.
Update: runs like a dream on Series X and achievements unlocked no problem.
I’ll definitely give this a shot. Played it death on the 360 and have dabbled on and off on the Xbox One version. If I can get it to run at 60fps while still allowing me to get the remaining achievements I’m all for it.
I’d enjoy it more if the one that came with my console didn’t having a sticking guide button. I press it to bring up the guide and before I know it the turn off controller/console screen is up. Once I get it fixed I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Mortal Kombat 9 seems to be a massive oversight, especially since it would complete the collection with X and 11. And the arcade collection would be welcome too!
