Re: Guide: Xbox Series X & S Pre-Orders: Where To Buy The New Consoles

ChopperCampbell

Got a Series X for myself and a Series S for the bairn from the Microsoft website. It was a bit finicky to start with but eventually played ball.
Also managed to get a Series X for my brother from Currys, but that was an hour queue to log in.
Amazon never even showed the console until it sold out, and Game was still over an hour wait to log in at half past eight.

Re: Xbox Acquires ZeniMax Media, Parent Company Of Bethesda Softworks

ChopperCampbell

@SolarSailor I agree I don’t think they will stop the big games from coming to other platforms. Too much money to be made from the millions of people gaming on Nintendo and PlayStation. Though I would point out that Minecraft and Wasteland were already coming to other consoles before their studios were bought.

Still, having Doom, Wolfenstein, Elder Scrolls and Fallout, among others, would be a tremendous selling point if they were truly exclusive.

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Is Your Favourite Modern Sonic Game?

ChopperCampbell

@KelticDevil if you’ve played and enjoyed any of the Mega Drive Sonic games you’ll be right at home with Sonic Mania. It’s good on the Xbox but I play it mostly on the Switch. Failing that Sonic Generations is my favourite of the more modern games. Can’t really comment on Team Sonic Racing as I haven’t tried it yet, but I wasn’t impressed with Sonic Forces.

Re: Alan Wake Returns In New Trailer For Control Expansion, AWE

ChopperCampbell

I really struggled to get into most of Remedy’s games. Started but never finished Quantum Break, Alan Wake and both original Xbox Max Payne games. I didn’t think they were bad games, just never gripped me.

Control though I thought was great fun, so I’m interested to go back to it with this new DLC and see if it piques my interest in giving Alan Wake another chance.

Re: Rumour: July's Xbox Series X Event Will 'Absolutely Bring The Heat'

ChopperCampbell

I want to see new games. I don’t care if they are sequels to currently games or new IP’s but they have to be new and never seen before.

I’ll be disappointed if we see time wasted on current-gen games being upgraded. We already know about that feature, which admittedly is awesome, but the criticism of Microsoft has always been that they lack new exclusives.

Personally I’d love to see a new Fable and Perfect Dark, a couple of older IP’s like Blinx, Conker or Crimson Skies make comebacks, and of course I want Halo to be awesome.

A couple of third-party exclusive would also be awesome. Give me a new Splinter Cell or Jade Empire!!

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Do You Feel After Sony's PS5 Event?

ChopperCampbell

I’d like to see the event in proper 4K 60fps to get a better idea of what the games will look like in real life. I’m aware the stream was capped at 1080p 30fps and I’m wondering if that’s why I feel a bit meh about what I saw.

Couple of interesting games shown, some looked like pure filler.

Not a massive fan of the look of the console, but could see myself getting the digital edition at some point to compliment the XSX.

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Xbox Classics Would You Make Backwards Compatible?

ChopperCampbell

I actually haven’t played any of these although I’ve got Max Payne and Eternal Sonata on the 360. I’d have to vote for Max Payne simply because I played a bit of the first one years ago and kind of enjoyed it. Would still like the other two to be added to the backwards compatible list as well.

Further to that, I was gutted that Mortal Kombat 9 never made the list previously so that is the top of my own personal list.

Re: E3 2016: Forza Horizon 3 Details and Release Date Announced

ChopperCampbell

@KelticDevil I'm similar to yourself. I've played Forza Motorsport 2-5 and enjoyed them enough, but feel that they are just too serious for me.
For me the Horizon games at the virtual equivalent of jumping in the car and tearing around at speed, with the windows down and music blaring.
Horizon wins hands down for me every time.

Re: Review: Homefront: The Revolution (Xbox One)

ChopperCampbell

I was always interested in the original after the awesome reveal trailer, but never got to play it. Was more cautious about this, especially after the seeming nightmare it went through in development. Seems like this ultimately suffered the Duke Nukem Forever syndrome of protracted development at a number of different studios, resulting in a unwhelming game. Pity.

Re: Rumour: New Wave of Backward Compatible Titles Coming During E3

ChopperCampbell

I'm still holding out hope for Phil Spencer to say something along the lines of "sorry for the delay in adding certain games to backwards compatibility. The good news is we have straightened things out with all our partners, and EVERY 360 game will be BC as of.................now. And that includes original Xbox games."
Mic drop.

Re: The BC List: Issue 2 - Double the Dragons, Twice the Fun

ChopperCampbell

@stylon I think the issue is that there is no Games on Demand version of Doom 3 BFG Edition on the marketplace. I had a look a while ago as I've been replacing discs for digital (been able to get loads of digital games cheap while hey are on sale, then sell the disc for more than I've paid for the digital version).
The disc version works like any others though, disc goes in, digital copy downloads. It does also download the XBLA versions of Doom 1&2.

Re: Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 4/5/6 for Xbox One

ChopperCampbell

Not sure about this. I played most of the Resident Evil games on the GameCube, and always loved ReMake, Zero was great, and really enjoyed Nemesis and Code Veronica. I'm definitely going to be the odd one out by saying I enjoyed two the least of all the originals (in my defence I did blow through it in about three days, so never really got attached to it like others did. Will probably get the remake of two when it come to see if I change my mind).

As far as this bundle goes, four was always a great game but having played through it on the GameCube, Wii and 360 I can safely say I won't be purchasing it again. Kind of enjoyed five at the time of release, but having tried it again a few months ago it has aged badly, with the companion A.I. Being so bad that it makes Halo 5's companion Spartans seem like absolute geniuses in comparison. Six,meh! Never finished all three campaigns, found it to be very samey throughout, the plot had become one of the the most convoluted and incomprehensible that I've ever seen and was so far removed from the originals that it would have been better being a new franchise altogether.

Having side all that, I wouldn't mind four, five and six being backwards compatible, however Capcom will be getting no money from me for these re-releases.

Re: 10 New Xbox One Backward Compatibility Titles Added

ChopperCampbell

Downloaded Witcher onto my One earlier. Just found at my brothers house and thought I'd download it for him since he's away just now. The game is no longer appearing on the store on the 360, and when I try to redeem it on Xbox.com it says it isn't available in this region (United Kingdom). Hopefully it's a glitch, it does say on Major Nelson's blog that the UK was a region the game was available in.
