Having a blast with this one. A ps1 with the original Crash (and Tomb Raider 2) was the first thing I ever saved up for as a kid so it will always have my vote from a nostalgia standpoint. Crash3 is objectively the best though.
Personally I have no issues with a solid 30 — I've been playing console games since the early 90s so it's a frame rate I'm used to. But the lack of commitment around the Series S performance is a little worrying
I sort of expected this. People went into this gen expecting 4k/60 as standard and neither the Series or PS5 are specced to achieve this with new titles. Will be interesting to see if this remains the case with the PS5 Pro but 30fps is just something I've come to expect with Xbox titles.
That's quite a pricey upgrade for a few digital trinkets and an DLC chapter. To put an optimistic spin on it, hopefully that means the DLC is quite a meaty expansion!
I swear some people don't understand how businesses work. Since the Xbox One generation, the wider audience has picked Playstation as the defacto brand and Xbox has been in a distant second place. This is their 'adapt or perish' moment where they are worrying less about shifting hardware (that battle is long lost) and are now focusing on boosting game pass numbers and selling their software to as many audiences as possible. Do I miss the 360 era where we had a suite of killer exclusives? Of course, but I love Xbox and, if this is the necessary step for the brand to keep going, I'm OK with that.
Pretty decent from my perspective. Haven't played a COD game in years but it looks fun, MH looks great and Indi was the highlight for me. Plenty to play 🙂
This is the sort of cadence I'm expecting for most Xbox titles going forward; timed exclusivity for a few months to boost game pass, then $70 releases for those on PlayStation who have no interest in buying another console. Win-win.
My subscription runs out in May next year. If they start delivering on these upcoming exclusives I'll renew but there is nothing in the library at the moment to get me to renew.
It's all about those fast load times for me. My gaming time is limited these days so being able to just jump into a game and start playing is awesome. Going back to playing games on my lad's launch day Xbox One is rough!
Perhaps wishful thinking but I wonder if Second Extinction is leaving GP as it's leaving Early Access and we are getting the full version in its place?

Re: Microsoft's New Xbox Series X And S Console Lineup Launches This October
2tb is a little too steep for me, which is a shame as I love the design.
Re: These Three Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (August 22 - September 3)
Do we know if the COD beta will be available on Cloud?

Re: Starfield Fails To Make Shortlist For 'Game Of The Year' At The Game Awards 2023
Feel bad for Xbox but it’s been a stacked year for great games and these 6 are probably the best ones.
