Re: Best Xbox Series X And Xbox One RPGs

Bartig

It's kind of sad with all the tryouts available on Game Pass, that there aren't any surprises in this list. Why chose Destiny 2 (repeat repeat repeat blergh) and not Jedi Fallen Order, for example?

Also: Ikenfell and CrossCode are amazing old-fashioned RPG's, SO much more inspired than Dragon Quest.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Jan 9th)

I picked up Injustice 2, after some great fun fights against my girlfriend. The training sessions are super useful, but it also appears the action buttons on two of my Xbox controllers don't respond quick enough to achieve the desired combos. Are there more of you with this problem?

Re: Feature: 30 Xbox Series X Games To Look Forward To In 2021

Bartig

I have no faith in Halo Infinite actually releasing this year, after the fierce critics over what is shown so far. Then wat remains... isn't quite on par with what Sony is showing imo.

Still, look forward to Hogwarts Legacy (hope for online coop here...) and It Takes Two.

Haha, it was a let's try GamePass-weekend this weekend. I've tried so many games:

  • Ikenfell: fun turn-based SNES-like RPG
  • Dragon Quest XI: Really doesn't do it for me. Great orchestral music but feels so copypasted
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps - WOW
  • Hollow Knight - I could really get into this
  • Children of Morta- Let's try this again in coop
  • Moonlighter - Not for me
  • Streets of Rage 4 - Old-fashioned coop fun
  • Superhot Mind Control Delete - I've always disliked a time-mechanic in games, and this is no exception
  • Titanfall 2 - Those colors, this intense action! Will get back to this

So the things I enjoyed are Titanfall 2, Ori and Hollow Knight.

Re: Feature: 20 Great Xbox Game Pass Games To Try In The New Year

Bartig

The greatest games on Game Pass for me are the games I would otherwise never have played. Biiig recommendations for these surprises:

  • Tell Me Why: the most emotional game I've ever played, such a great story
  • Morkredd: short, yet tense 2 player coop puzzle game
  • Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order: The best Star Wars game ever made, when I really gave up on them
  • Sea of Solitude: Not much gameplay-wise, but an amazing depiction of a girl that struggles with herself
  • Human Fall Flat: Seriously, grab a friend or online buddy and play this through. It's hilarious.

Re: Year In Review: How Would You Grade Xbox In 2020?

Bartig

Wow, I seemed to choose the most selected option every time. We really think alike on first-party titles, acquisitions and Game Pass.

For me, the mediocre launch of the Xbox Series X isn't a problem at all this year - so far, Game Pass made me love my Xbox One All Digital, and I don't feel any need to renew my console, which is really very comfortable.

Re: Poll: How Many Xbox Games Have You Completed In 2020?

Bartig

A surprising lot actually, thanks to the many surprises Game Pass offers.

  • Forza Horizon 4; completed all the main missions along with the DLC, so that feels like completed
  • Hotshot Racing
  • Halo 5: Guardians (coop this time)
  • Warhammer: Vermintide II (coop)
  • Tell Me Why
  • Tetris Effect: Connected
  • Sea of Solitude

Re: Site News: Thank You For Your Fantastic Support In 2020

Bartig

Two points of thoughts: I'd love to see more trailers in your posts. Whether it's reviews or news updates. And... I'd like to see more reviews as well. But I can see how time-sensitive they are of course.

Most of all: thank you! I love the weekly Game Pass updates, weekly new release updates and 'what are you playing this weekend?' posts.

Keep it up!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Dec 19th)

Just downloaded a few brand new +-1GB titles on Game Pass just to try them out, and playing quite a lot even other than those:

  • Tetris Effect Connected: Got some new S and SS ratings, somehow it feels lovely to partake in the weekend ritual
  • Star Wars: Jedi Order - Can't believe how drop dead gorgeous it is. The colors, the actors!
  • Really want to try 2 player coop game Morkredd
  • Enjoying Human Fall Flat with my brother via online coop. Hilarious!

Re: SteelSeries Rolls Out Update For Arctis 9X Headset, Fixes Odd Xbox Series X|S Glitch

Bartig

That's a really weird bug, and something that tells me I'll stick to wired gaming headphones for now.

Just received the HyperX Cloud Alpha - already had the HyperX Cloud II. A lot of people state the Alpha is better, and it has better sound positioning and a more defined bass, but it misses the crispness in the higher notes and I already got a very bed remark about the mic the first time I tested it.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year 2020?

Bartig

Wow, I voted a tad too quick I see here. My personal Game Pass top 5 is:

1. Forza Horizon 4 - It reminded me racegames can be real good fun. It just keeps on giving, so even though it's released earlier, why shouldn't it be?

2. Tell Me Why - I may have cried a couple of times.

3. Tetris Effect Connected - One of the most 'flowing' Tetris experiences, now with a great added multiplayer - the Zone mechanic adds some depth to the very simple base mechanics.

4. Call of the Sea - Framedrops can drag you out a bit, but this is such a good-looking, nicely paced puzzle-adventure game!

5. Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Has got some of that good old 'Oh wow that's SO clever' moments.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Xbox Game Of The Year 2020?

Bartig

I'm only nominating two games, as MS Flight Simulator isn't on Xbox yet and shouldn't be in this list imo.

  • Tetris Effect: Connected; the kind of game that really drags you into it with a great balance between short burst-play ans long gaming sessions.
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a thing of beauty.
