The did get attacked by a minority of outraged "so called gamers" for releasing DLC for Dirt rally 2.0 who took to review sites without even having played the game to vent their anger, but their little assault lost steam. You can actually pick up the complete game with all dlc for about €20. I had so much fun playing Dirt rally and 2.0. I could only describe them as Stunt race FX (the old SNES game which I also loved) on steroids.

I think Dirt rally 3.0 could be positively mind blowing if they can continue the trend they started this generation.

I was correcting you on your comment where you said - "It's going to be a very expensive generation for PlayStation users!"

My point is, it's not going to be anymore expensive than any other generation. And yes I am not going to buy any next gen games for at least 3 years since I won't be buying a series X and PS5 until then. Not everybody is an early adaptor. I used to buy day one or as close to as possible but I've learned that it is not very clever financially and with a backlog like mine is here is no panic.

I hear what you're saying about Netflix, but games are different. For me games are to be nurtured and cherished, I think game pass takes that away. I know I had game pass for a month and I didn't like it one bit. Any good games on it I already owned. I found it a bit intrusive on my console also.

Re: Xbox Boss Suggests PS5 Represents A Heavy Financial Investment

@LtSarge
I couldn't disagree more. Games don't stay at £70 they drop in price. And games will cost the same on series X. Plus series S is very bad value with reports that it has only 364gb of usable storage and it's underpowered.

Finally game pass is priced €10 - €15
10x12=120 per year and how many games will you own? Zero. Game pass for 7 years, say a consoles lifespan = 840 minimum and you now own zero games. Last gen I didn't spend the colour of that on games and I have a stack of both one x and PS4 games. All or 99% of bought brand new for under €20 each.

"trying to brush it under the rug like scums" - would you listen to yourself.
I don't have to read and breath all gaming events to obtain an opinion and know what I know. Everything I said it true to what I believe.
I don't go near PC gaming sites as I know nothing about PC gaming but I know a hell of a lot about console gaming since I've been console gaming since the late 80s. I'm not brand officiated, I play Nintendo, Sony and MS for every generation. This time I missed the Switch because I have a Wii u and felt I'd give them a break.
And it's not a random Xbox articles. I'm a member of this family of sites for over seven years and you're a member for one month and talking like your opinion is gold and any counter opinion mustn't have a clue. 😂😂😂
"Phil Spencer on the other hand has mostly done great things" - lol yeah like say that exclusive games "are completely counter to what gaming is about". Maybe he needs to "keep up" and get some lessons from Nintendo on how to sell consoles.

@LtSarge @Darthroseman
Fair point. I've no horse running in this race either. I'm buy Sony and MS consoles. I'm not here to light fires but I'm reading this article and all I'm seeing is people kissing MS a*£ and beating up Sony. I say what I see. I can't understand how people believe Game pass is as great as they say. I had it for a month and thought it was terribly. Any of the AAA games that we're on offer I already owned and I had very little interest in anything else it had to offer. The only thing I got out of it was that I didn't like Ace combat which I may have purchased when it had gotten cheaper, so I saved some cash there.
What I'm seeing is MS have managed to dress up that they have no games to offer and it's all game pass and backwards compatibility. Whereas Sony are going to keep doing what they are doing, ie; turning out exclusive games that sell hardware, which is the model the games industry has being built on since the NES.
I would not spend €80 on a game. My plan is buy into this next generation in 3 years time and then I'll see what is happening. My backlog can get me there no sweat.
If you did spend €15 a month on game pass, over the consoles seven year lifespan you will spend a total of €1260 which at the end of it for that money, you own zero games!
This generation on PS4 and Xbox one I haven't spent the colour of that and I have a stack of games. As far as I'm concerned I'll be buying PS5 games and probably series x games in the future for €20 brand new. Touch wood, I'll still be here to do that.

I like to buy my games physical. Everyman to his own but for me, I had game pass for a month and I couldn't wait until it expired. You can only play one game at a time. I like buying games when they hit €20 and I like buying brand new. It's a good feeling. Then I can play at my leisure.

Re: Xbox Boss: Our Approach Isn't About Selling More Consoles Than PS5

@mousieone
Yeah I'll stop the hating. I just want MS to make some good games. Honestly I'm not a fanboy. If anything I was a Nintendo fanboy back in the day. Now I buy all the consoles if I can afford to. There are a couple of absolute blind fanboys on this site and I've just been fighting my corner with the two biggest offenders. No need to mention names.

What bugged me about Phil was the bit where he criticised the business model that the games industry was built on since the NES. Exclusive software sells hardware. He said it was anti consumer. That just got up my nose.

Re: Xbox Boss: Our Approach Isn't About Selling More Consoles Than PS5

@mousieone
Yeah ok maybe a football match is a bad analogy. You are moving away from my point and the topic. Phil Spencer is talk out his rear end saying they don't mind if they don't sell that many console's. Let's leave the football match right there. I don't view the console competitive between the 3 manufacturers like a football. It was a bad analogy, jeez.

Nintendo have created their niche with the Switch whether you like it or not. A particular market where they can thrive. Sony have their market and MS are trying with Game pass to do their thing. But to say we don't care if we don't sell as many console's as the other 2. Phil need to learn to shut his gob and he'd do less damage.

Why can't MS just do like Sony and Nintendo and make some must have exclusives? And quit this double talk.

Re: Xbox Boss: Our Approach Isn't About Selling More Consoles Than PS5

tinCAT-zero

If you view the console wars like a game of football, someone's gotta lose. Nintendo couldn't compete anymore so they created their own niche market with Switch and now they can't make "Consoles" fast enough. Now MS are trying to do the same with a Game pass subscription service. Sony are still following the traditional path and selling loads of "Consoles".

I still think Phil Spencer is not the right man for the job. What company makes a console and then says we don't mind if our new console doesn't sell we're about more than that. The game is still about shifting consoles as far as I can see.

Phil is a slippery f-er who talks c@#p for a living.

@Tharsman
If you're a fan of Halo I say go for it. I found game pass a bit intrusive on my console tbh. As for Xcloud and cloud gaming in general - I'm not going to be a part of that. I read recently that Phil Spencer said that the real competition wasn't Sony or Nintendo but it was Amazon and Google. I will not be a part of that system they are trying to carve out. Amazon and Google in gaming would make my blood run cold.

Re: Sony Is Reportedly Moneyhatting Some 'Huge' Timed Exclusives

@Richnj
I'll agree it's not great news for people who are only getting an Xbox. A lot of people will be getting both console's, so for me it doesn't matter as I'll be getting both. Anyway it's only speculation and what are these massive games? GTA V or some other junk that I'm not interested in.

My comment is more in response to the Sony bashing that is going on on this site.

Re: Upset About PlayStation Exclusive Content? Prepare For More, Says Industry Insider

tinCAT-zero

Doesn't effect me in the slightest. Console wars in the Mega drive and SNES era were justified as very few people could afford both systems. Nowadays it is common place for people to own all systems. For the last 3 generations I have gotten all consoles and hopefully I'll do the same next gen.
I do think the developer could benefit from the big check they receive for the timed game or content which is good for them and in turn good for the industry.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade July's Xbox Games Showcase?

tinCAT-zero

@Thretosix
I am not a fanboy. But I know Sony are doing better than MS. I have an One X and a PS4. I like playing games. Phil Spencer has p-ed me with his bull s#*t. I'm just stating that nothing has changed at MS. MS are interested in pushing game pass. I have absolutely zero interest in game pass. I like buying a game at a discounted price and playing at my leisure.

As for it all being opinions. You can argue that to a point, but one is actually better than the other. I want both to succeed. If MS fail it would be a disaster for gaming.

It's the rivalry between MS and Sony that have pushed console technology to the amazing point we are at.
