Re: Starfield 'A Tremendous Hit' And One Of Xbox's Top 10 Most-Played Games, Says Phil Spencer

@Widey85 I get what you are saying, but I have to disagree. Ubisoft has a formula that works for them. Just like EA has formula that works for them. Bethesda has a formula that has worked for them. I believe Starfield is truly a Bethesda game and that seems to be what you don't like about it. Elder Scrolls is up to what 6 games with Skyrim, Fallout up to 4 with some extra games, Starfield is the first of it's kind. Even Cyberpunk had it's issues at launch and is a much better game today than it was at launch. That being said, Bethesda isn't going to try and be something they are not, they are going to make a Bethesda game. I applaud them for being themselves, I'm sure they will take the criticisms and improve the game in patches no different than Cyberpunk did. I wouldn't expect them to ever un-Bethesda the game to be more like other games.

@Sol4ris Most of all that is planned propaganda from Sony. One thing they are great at is attacking rivals and engaging their base to blast their competition in hopes to stifle any progress on other platforms mainly Xbox. It's a great game that doesn't deserve the hyperbole criticism it's getting. People are upset Bethesda made a Bethesda game, those that enjoy Bethesda games for the most part are enjoying familiar gameplay in a new environment. I'm sure Microsoft is using most of this criticism to work on DLC and future Starfield games. The hate is only going to make the game better down the road. It's like people playing a new Mario or Zelda game and saying it takes them right back to playing the games of past but with new twists. Starfield really isn't any different, it feels like a Bethesda game in space. I actually believe most of this hate is coming more from the fact that it is a Microsoft exclusive and people being bitter about it.

Re: Talking Point: Remember When 'Project Milo' Was The Next Big Thing For Xbox?

@theduckofdeath This is true and was short sighted. The big problems was basically Sony didn't like that they got one upped from the "eye toy" and then campaigned against it. With the PS4 Sony's whole slogan was how it did everything. The One X did everything then Sony changed their campaign to gaming first and for a short while ditched the eye toy. While saying that add-ons are gimmicks Sony released the PSVR. The Kinect was a very good device. I actually miss it.

Re: Talking Point: Overall, How Successful Has 2023 Been For Xbox?

For me all the big titles didn't do as well as expected. This was a down year for Xbox. Prices raised for Game Pass and the content isn't improving. I gave it an E I think Xbox can do a lot better. 3 years later and still missing Velocity Architecture features we were promised at launch. This was the year Xbox was supposed to hit it out of the park with Starfield and Forza Motorsport and I believe those two titles exposed Xbox more than help it.

@Gabrielmpf I think this is one of my biggest disappointments coming from Horizon to a track focused game. I log in and it's the same stagnant tracks with what feels like like no incentive to play the game. I'm not sure adding 100 tracks and 1000 cars will fix this problem. They need to add something to the game that keeps you engaged.

@RBRTMNZ Example: I'm saying before the Beetles anthology came out, it was already #1 in the chart for the store selling it. If there had been no sales, that would make it a scam just to sell more copies, not that the album needed it. I was the guy who updated the display. It had nothing to do with sales of the product. It was who paid more for the top spot. It was a scam. Not whatever you came up with as a response to my comment.

The industry has some real hate for Microsoft. These awards are always scammy anyways and to be honest I would never use these lists as any input on deciding to buy a game.

I remember working for a record store a long time ago. When certain albums released they always put it in top albums even though not a single copy has been sold. At that point I never trusted marketing, it's all a scam.

Re: Microsoft Unveils New 'Heritage Collection' Of Xbox 360 Merch

@HonestHick Direct Input is the pivotal point for real Next Gen gaming. It's what offloads the processing of the GPU and CPU to do more because the SSD is handling the physical assets. This console is 3 years old now and as you have confirmed there are zero titles utilizing it.

Quick resume is broken in most games, mostly first party games. Starfield's load times are horrible.

@GASEOUS Some seem to hate the Microsoft Store, I don't understand why. This is one of the biggest benefits of the MS Store. I love Steam, will buy everything I can through there unless the game is a Play Anywhere title. It also may restrict people from playing Cloud based versions of games they have purchased as well. If it is locked behind Game Pass that's a pretty shady move by Microsoft. You either own the game or you don't.
