It's definitely been a year of talking points, with Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard finally going through after months (and years!) of uncertainty, Xbox hosting more events than we've seen in ages with the likes of the Developer Direct and Partner Preview, Square Enix shunning Xbox with multiple releases before making friends again in July, and a massive info leak doing some pretty major damage back in September.
You could say it's been an up-and-down year for Xbox in 2023, but in our opinion, the highs have definitely been more notable than the lows. Sure, Redfall ended up being a big disappointment back at launch, but Starfield turned out to be pretty darn fantastic, Forza Motorsport established a great base for the future, we received multiple Age of Empires games on console for the first time, and Hi-Fi RUSH blew everyone away with its shadow drop in January. Don't forget about the likes of Minecraft Legends and the 10/10 Quake 2 as well!
But that's just what we think! How are you feeling about the past 11 months for Xbox? Has it been a successful time for the brand, or have you been disappointed with some of the releases and decisions that have been made?
