Re: On This Day: Eleven Years Ago the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles First Appeared on Xbox

holchasaur

I'm with you guys. I just can't comprehend why it's so complicated to make a good TMNT game. Imagine if Activision contracted an indie developer to make a proper sequel to Turtles in Time. It would only need to be an hour-long downloadable game with retro visuals. If done well, something like that would probably sell like mad across all home consoles. I have to imagine it would cost peanuts to make, too. I know Activision doesn't really care about the quality of these cash grabs, but man, it seems so simple and effortless.

Re: New Project Cars Xbox One Gameplay Footage Drives to the Line

holchasaur

@EternalDragonX That's kind of my concern too. I recently picked up Driveclub and am still playing Forza Horizon 2 here and there. I plan on getting Forza 6 when that releases, so I'm not sure I want to cram in another racer between now and then. I probably will, though, because Project Cars does look sweet. Maybe I'll wait to see how it reviews before making the decision.

Re: Round Up: Mortal Kombat X Reviews Are Bloody Good

holchasaur

So... anyone played any MKX yet? Let us know what you think! I sat down with it for an hour last night and walked away impressed. Because I've been spending so much time with Killer Instinct, though, I was fumbling through the tutorial. But I'm sure I'll be mastering fatalities and combos before you know it.

Re: Farming Simulator 15 Teaser Trailer Goes Live

holchasaur

I'm definitely going to play this. I've been reviewing the 3DS versions for Nintendo Life for a few years now, and I feel like I need to get a better idea of what the whole, true Farming Simulator experience is like — the handheld versions are extremely basic and limited. It looks like an entirely different series, honestly.

Re: Dead Island 2 Slips to September

holchasaur

I didn't anticipate seeing this until the end of the year anyway, so September makes no difference to me. Honestly, I think everyone is finally getting sick of zombies — I know I am. It's going to be interesting to see how this one sells.

Re: There Are No Strings on This Avengers: Age of Ultron Table for Pinball FX2

holchasaur

I'm thrilled about this. Of course I'm always open to more tables being added to Pinball FX2, but it's even more exciting when the table's release date and theme coordinate with an entertainment event. If it were any other company, we'd all be terrified of a last minute announcement of a licensed game. But, given Zen Studio's track record of making great pinball tables, worrying is probably unnecessary.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Fifty One

holchasaur

I'm through four bosses in Bloodborne now... even beat the last on my first try. I just thought you all should know that. I'm feeling really good about it considering how poorly I started out.

Anyone in Europe get Dark Souls II for Xbox One or PS4? Other than Red, I mean. If so, how is it? With the way I've taken to Bloodborne, I'm definitely going to pick it up on Tuesday when it releases in the US.

@JaxonH 250 hours... are you kidding?!! That's madness! Honestly, it makes me happy just to think that a game can mean that much to someone. I'm not sure I've ever logged hours like that with a single game. I believe I crossed the 100 hour mark in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and that might be the highest — unless you count SNES games that I replay frequently, but there's no way for me to know exactly how long I spent with those overall.

Anyway, now I want to get back to Monster Hunter. I got so sidetracked with it a while back that I haven't played in weeks. Maybe a month, actually. I'll try to change that this weekend.

Re: Out Today: R.B.I. Baseball 15 (Xbox One)

holchasaur

I'm tempted to buy this, but I'd like to read a few reviews first. An arcade-style baseball game sounds nice right about now. Sure, The Show looks fantastic as usual, but it requires more time and effort than I'm looking to invest at the moment.

Re: Rainbow Six Siege Brings in Experts from Around the World

holchasaur

I was a massive, MASSIVE Rainbow fan back in the day. The Vegas series didn't really do it for me, but I loved the games on the original Xbox. My friends and I used to play online nearly every night of the week. So, yeah... I'm truly excited for this. Hopefully it isn't rushed and lacking content at launch.

Re: 2D Action Platformer Aaru's Awakening Leaps to Xbox One

holchasaur

This seems like a mix of elements from Ori and the Blind Forest and Fenix Rage. The controls appear a bit awkward in the trailer, but at least the game looks much better in motion than that screenshot above would suggest. I thought it was a DS game at first.

I'll definitely play this.

Re: Halo 5: Guardians Release Date Confirmed

holchasaur

I really like the route the advertising campaign is taking. All of the mystery surrounding the plot has Halo 5 feeling like an event and not just a video game, and that's a lot of fun.

By the way, @Gamer83, not EVERYONE found Halo 4 to be a letdown. Actually, it's my favorite campaign in the Halo series. My only real complaint was that there were too many vehicle-based missions.

Re: Weekly Wrap: Delayed Edition

holchasaur

@Gamer83 Seems we're all good with MKX considering it's available for pre-load on Xbox One. But I don't blame you. I've been skeptical of the release date for quite some time.

Re: Developer Over The Moon Announces That The Fall Will Search for Medical Assistance on Xbox One Soon

holchasaur

I played this when it released for Wii U. Outside of how effortless it is to get stuck and dealing with the odd controls, it's pretty fantastic. The plot is incredibly intriguing, the setting is consuming and tense, and the puzzles can be remarkably clever. As long as you don't mind looking up a walkthrough when you become unsure of how to make progress — which will happen — I recommend checking it out.

Re: Review: Battlefield: Hardline (Xbox One)

holchasaur

I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts on this game. Did you end up enjoying the single player as much as I did, or is it multiplayer that's really doing it for you? Let me know if you agree with my review or if your experience was very different. Also, would you prefer to see the Battlefield franchise continue to venture away from the military themes of the mainline installments? I'm super curious here, so please share!

Re: Review: LA Cops (Xbox One)

holchasaur

Bummer — I was hoping to play this when I have a little time between reviews. Sounds like I won't like it, though. Thanks for saving me the money, Tyler!
