Re: Join The Official Pure Xbox Car Club In Forza Horizon 2

@GooRoo Isn't it?! I didn't expect to be as hooked as I am. I think I've knocked out 30 championships now.

@EternalDragonX Me too, so you'd better watch out for my Drivatar!

What's everyone's preferred view? I never used to like cockpit view, but now I can't play without it. So, SO much more immersive.

Re: Review: Chariot (Xbox One)

holchasaur

I'm very happy to hear that others are enjoying Chariot as much as I did. I played through a majority of the game with my wife and she also adored it. This weekend we're going to jump back in and go after all those tricky items and alternate exits that we missed. We're going to need a bit of luck on our side, I think!

Thanks for the great comments, guys!

Re: Round Up: Critics Find Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor To Be Precious

@mitcHELLspawn I'm typically the same way with modern racers, but I've logged a ton of hours with Horizon 2 already. It might even be the best time I've had with a racing game since Burnout: Takedown. It's not game-changing or anything, but it's a really fun open-world racer. Be sure to join the pX Car Club when you get FH2. Either search pureXBOX or PURE (I'm not sure which one it is).

Re: Giana Sisters 2 In Development for Xbox One

I wanted to love Twisted Dreams on Wii U, but the technical issues really hurt the experience for me (so much so that I couldn't finish the game). Hopefully Black Forest has the sequel running smoothly on Xbox One, because the foundation is there for a top-notch platformer.

I'll be following closely.

Re: Forza Horizon 2 Demo Now Available on Xbox One

holchasaur

I'm glad to see that others are appreciating the demo as much as myself, and I'm genuinely surprised by how much value can be milked out of the included content. Between the actual races, Bucket List, rival races and free roam, I must have spent about an hour-and-a-half to two hours playing earlier. Consider me impressed.

Re: Guide: The Best Pinball FX2 Tables Money Can Buy

holchasaur

@Emanouel You're very welcome. PvZ has been out for a couple years, but now that I think about it, I don't believe it has made its way over to the Xbox One version of PFX2 yet. Should be coming soon, though! I do recall it being on the list of tables that Zen is working on.

@renatto Yep, those are also fun tables. To be honest, it's rare to come across a table that isn't very good. Zen does exceptional work.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Date Confirmed For Xbox One

This is a remaster that I'm actually happy about. I had an awesome time with GTAV when I reviewed it last year, and I SO badly wanted to give it a 10, but there were weird technical issues that showed up at the most unfortunate times. I'm really hoping all those problems are smoothed out this time around. Who knows, maybe GTAV on Xbox One will earn the highest honors at Pure Xbox? It's totally possible!

Re: Late to the Party: Investigating the Mysteries of Shadow Complex for the First Time

holchasaur

@Gamer83 Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed reading. It might not be a weekly or biweekly thing, but I'm going to try and keep "Late to the Party" coming as often as possible. I've already begun making a list of all the games that I've missed out on and need to play. The next is likely going to be Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, and then after that I'll probably dig into the library of the original Xbox. I do have a copy of ToeJam & Earl III sitting on a shelf that hasn't left the case, so there's always that.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Twenty Six

holchasaur

@EternalDragonX Not that you have to enjoy it, but I wouldn't judge Velocity 2X from the first 15 minutes. It's all tutorials and streamlined level design at that point. Once you hit around stage 15, I think, the play styles start coming together and the action intensifies. Just wait until you completely grasp the side-scrolling controls and can race through those sections without a single pause — there's almost no feeling like it.

@Tasuki You're so very welcome. Makes me happy to hear that you and your son are having a lot of fun with it.

Re: Exclusive: Guess What? Your 100% Save File In Guacamelee: STCE Isn't Quite Complete

holchasaur

@maththeusername Yeah, I did the same initially. Screwed around for about an hour before getting frustrated and walking away for a bit. It's just SO easy to miss.

@wender You're very welcome! Glad you could figure it out. It's amazing that the secret stayed as secret as it did for so long. I honestly can't believe I didn't come across it during one of my three playthroughs, because I was experimenting with Goat Fly on every wall that would allow it, regardless of how small.
