Re: Lots Of People Have Noticed Game Tiles Disappearing On Xbox One

Vincent294

Ironically not with mine. Game covers on the store are brutally slow to load in because my Wi-Fi board is dying (1st replacement on eBay didn't work so ordered a 2nd), but my library itself is fine. If only it was this and not the Wi-Fi board, but it struggles to load YouTube videos and the settings benchmark can get anywhere from 20 Mpbs to 100 Kbps, or sometimes errors out.

Re: Rumour: WWE 2K21 Has Been Cancelled

Vincent294

@Grot Yeah, and the following year was a regression. WWE 2K20 was so bad it stopped working on January 1st 2020, from a Y2K 2020 bug. They call it 2K sports for a reason. Being last gen next year could be an advantage as back compat should be the norm, but it speaks to the production values even after 2 years to get it together.

Re: The Original Design Of The Xbox One Was Rushed, Admits Xbox Boss

My Xbox One has been reliable too, but the power button can be activated by static electricity, which causes it to randomly turn on when the fans in my room are running and it's dry. An old coworker had the same issue. It drives us crazy. A baby at the Microsoft Store even managed to turn off some Xbox Ones by sliding its hand across the front of them. So glad they ditched capacitive buttons. The console also was pretty bulky and didn't look very sleek. No hardware failure though, which is great. I had to replace thermal paste on my cousin's fat 360 and managed to play some Halo on it with coworkers to stress a $10000 AV setup so we could debug which converter box was making static. What a shame after all those hours of Halo and replacing wires and converter boxes till we found the culprit that the university closed from coronavirus.

Re: Gears 5 Multiplayer Designer Departs The Coalition Due To "Personal Issues"

My GPA took a dip 2 years ago trying to balance an unmaintainable work and school schedule, a relative and a friend's drug problems, and a stalker. I spent so many all-nighters working I could not digest food very well, and I was a mental wreck from dealing with 2 people's substance abuse and the trauma from the stalker. People don't take breaks when they should, I hope his sabbatical goes well.

Re: So Long, And Thanks for All the Clicks

Vincent294

@stylon I tended to prefer Game Informer, my complaint is I had to visit 2 sites to get my Xbox and Nintendo fill, with no PC to boot. Maybe if Chrome and Edge had RSS feed support it would've been easier...I just looked, Twitter has a solution to my problem: lists. Damn. Still, I doubt that would've made much difference. Just when I thought this site had attained a healthy audience with the OXM's demise. RIP Pure Xbox, you all were a pleasure to have.

Re: So Long, And Thanks for All the Clicks

Vincent294

Not too surprised but I didn't think it was coming. Thank you guys for keeping it real, I still have Game Informer (which I will admit is where I visit most often), but this place was always seen at least every once in a while. In addition to being one of my favorites, you guys were the only Xbox news site besides Eurogamer with a mobile site that was worth a damn. I wish you all the best in future endeavors.

Re: Multiple Sources Confirm New Xbox One Hardware for E3

Vincent294

As long as the Xbox One gets about 5 years of support I'm good. I'll take Kotaku with a grain of salt, though the stick seems to be real. Based off what Spencer's had to say Scorpion is an all new console, so 2017 at the earliest, but really I'd guess 2018. Maybe I'm putting too much faith in them, who knows?

Re: Rumour: Microsoft to Announce New Hardware at E3 2016?

Vincent294

@KelticDevil I'm okay with an upgraded Xbox as long as you have to support the One. The One needs to have a 5 year lifetime at the minimum. The only reason I'm okay with the Neo is it requires you to support the original PS4. Otherwise you're getting a PC with no mod support and no upgradability.

Re: Rumour: Microsoft to Announce New Hardware at E3 2016?

Vincent294

So the takeaway is: The Elite controller's paddles should map to Game DVR, Xbox One Slim w/ AC Wi-Fi at the minimum has been confirmed via FCC filing, hell no to Xbox One S game exclusivity (the whole reason I've come to terms with the PS4 Neo is it doesn't try to be a neutered PC), cloud gaming should never be used outside of multiplayer, and free Xbox Live multiplayer would be a genius move.

Re: Fable Legends Cancelled, Lionhead Studios to Close

Vincent294

@KelticDevil It isn't doom and gloom but to say this is as insignificant as Quantum Break coming to PC or the consideration of Xbox going the route of Steam is wrong. Sure, Legends wasn't what longtime fans wanted to hear, but this is more like The Elder Scrolls Online coming after the card game nobody wants and a terrible phone entry that thankfully hasn't happened rather than the hell with no end in sight that Metroid is going through. I'm very disappointed this was cancelled on top of the studio being shut down. Hopefully they find another developer for the Fable series.

Re: Weirdness: Did This Kinect Sensor Just Find a Ghost?

Vincent294

@Gamer83 To be fair Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Zelda: Skyward Sword were pretty good. Zelda: Twilight Princess's port on the other hand was gimmicky as ****. Hard to name a decent implementation of the Kinect besides Mass Effect 3, which was perfectly fine without it. I'd still love to see the Wii Remote Plus used on the NX, but definitely not as the primary controller. Why Microsoft packed the even less gaming friendly Kinect with the Xbox One is beyond me.
