Ironically not with mine. Game covers on the store are brutally slow to load in because my Wi-Fi board is dying (1st replacement on eBay didn't work so ordered a 2nd), but my library itself is fine. If only it was this and not the Wi-Fi board, but it struggles to load YouTube videos and the settings benchmark can get anywhere from 20 Mpbs to 100 Kbps, or sometimes errors out.
If the CPU and SSD are the same it'll be interesting to see how Lockhart's GPU holds games back. Probably just 1080p lower settings and if so, I'd get it at some point if it has a disc drive.
@Grot Yeah, and the following year was a regression. WWE 2K20 was so bad it stopped working on January 1st 2020, from a Y2K 2020 bug. They call it 2K sports for a reason. Being last gen next year could be an advantage as back compat should be the norm, but it speaks to the production values even after 2 years to get it together.
My Xbox One has been reliable too, but the power button can be activated by static electricity, which causes it to randomly turn on when the fans in my room are running and it's dry. An old coworker had the same issue. It drives us crazy. A baby at the Microsoft Store even managed to turn off some Xbox Ones by sliding its hand across the front of them. So glad they ditched capacitive buttons. The console also was pretty bulky and didn't look very sleek. No hardware failure though, which is great. I had to replace thermal paste on my cousin's fat 360 and managed to play some Halo on it with coworkers to stress a $10000 AV setup so we could debug which converter box was making static. What a shame after all those hours of Halo and replacing wires and converter boxes till we found the culprit that the university closed from coronavirus.
My GPA took a dip 2 years ago trying to balance an unmaintainable work and school schedule, a relative and a friend's drug problems, and a stalker. I spent so many all-nighters working I could not digest food very well, and I was a mental wreck from dealing with 2 people's substance abuse and the trauma from the stalker. People don't take breaks when they should, I hope his sabbatical goes well.
Makes sense. When I made a Minecraft bedrock server auto-update script on GitHub I made the timer run once an hour from time of reboot to avoid slamming the download servers on the minute.
While lithium ion is easier to recharge than rechargeable AA batteries, this does mean it'll be real easy to swap a fully charged battery into. And when the lithium or AA rechargeable battery won't hold a charge anymore you won't need an iFixit kit to put a new/less used one in.
@stylon I tended to prefer Game Informer, my complaint is I had to visit 2 sites to get my Xbox and Nintendo fill, with no PC to boot. Maybe if Chrome and Edge had RSS feed support it would've been easier...I just looked, Twitter has a solution to my problem: lists. Damn. Still, I doubt that would've made much difference. Just when I thought this site had attained a healthy audience with the OXM's demise. RIP Pure Xbox, you all were a pleasure to have.
Not too surprised but I didn't think it was coming. Thank you guys for keeping it real, I still have Game Informer (which I will admit is where I visit most often), but this place was always seen at least every once in a while. In addition to being one of my favorites, you guys were the only Xbox news site besides Eurogamer with a mobile site that was worth a damn. I wish you all the best in future endeavors.
Sea of Thieves and ReCore look good, the former exceeding my expectations, and the hardware/system software announcements were icing on the cake, though nothing compares to what Sony did this year...or what Nintendo did.
As long as the Xbox One gets about 5 years of support I'm good. I'll take Kotaku with a grain of salt, though the stick seems to be real. Based off what Spencer's had to say Scorpion is an all new console, so 2017 at the earliest, but really I'd guess 2018. Maybe I'm putting too much faith in them, who knows?
@KelticDevil Exactly. This one may finally be going for space, but nothing can save it from the BS. The name didn't make a good impression either. May as well been More Warfare or some other self-depreciating jab.
@Utena-mobile That's pretty backwards, I hope they change that. On another note, separating Xbox 360 games from Xbox One games is all I ask for. But putting the nav bar on the top would be nice too.
Hey, rationality, you don't find that every day on the Internet. I'm glad you took the time to write this. This is a real issue marred by whatever the **** GamerGate degraded into (I say a misogynist cluster****). People like you are the reason I come to this site.
@KelticDevil I'm okay with an upgraded Xbox as long as you have to support the One. The One needs to have a 5 year lifetime at the minimum. The only reason I'm okay with the Neo is it requires you to support the original PS4. Otherwise you're getting a PC with no mod support and no upgradability.
So the takeaway is: The Elite controller's paddles should map to Game DVR, Xbox One Slim w/ AC Wi-Fi at the minimum has been confirmed via FCC filing, hell no to Xbox One S game exclusivity (the whole reason I've come to terms with the PS4 Neo is it doesn't try to be a neutered PC), cloud gaming should never be used outside of multiplayer, and free Xbox Live multiplayer would be a genius move.
@Utena-mobile In general you should be able to store things offline. I want to download Kill Bill on my hard drive cause streaming buffers too much, but it still isn't supported.
Well we already know it's already in development. How far however...Will we be seeing new consoles sooner rather than later? I expected it to last at least 5 years.
@KelticDevil Never argued you thought this was a good thing, let's get that clear. I just find it a shame they couldn't even publicly launch their newest game. You'd figure they could at least do that.
@KelticDevil It isn't doom and gloom but to say this is as insignificant as Quantum Break coming to PC or the consideration of Xbox going the route of Steam is wrong. Sure, Legends wasn't what longtime fans wanted to hear, but this is more like The Elder Scrolls Online coming after the card game nobody wants and a terrible phone entry that thankfully hasn't happened rather than the hell with no end in sight that Metroid is going through. I'm very disappointed this was cancelled on top of the studio being shut down. Hopefully they find another developer for the Fable series.
@Gamer83 To be fair Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Zelda: Skyward Sword were pretty good. Zelda: Twilight Princess's port on the other hand was gimmicky as ****. Hard to name a decent implementation of the Kinect besides Mass Effect 3, which was perfectly fine without it. I'd still love to see the Wii Remote Plus used on the NX, but definitely not as the primary controller. Why Microsoft packed the even less gaming friendly Kinect with the Xbox One is beyond me.
@Anthinator Next he'll be calling out Google for FIFA Mobile, ignorant of the real perpetrators, his son and EA. Was MS able to recoup any of that money or did they cover the bill? Probably the latter unfortunately. Some parents spoil their children way too much.

Glad I'm not on that dev team.

Revelations was great so I'm hoping this will follow that lineage.

Re: E3 2016: Resident Evil 7 Announced, Heading to Xbox One
Looks proper, surprised the PS exclusivity isn't a couple months longer, but I'm not complaining.
Re: E3 2016: ReCore Given Release Date and New Trailer
Looking good, will there be a longer trailer in the future?
Re: E3 2016: Rare Beauty Sea of Thieves to be Play Anywhere, New Gameplay Demo Unveiled
Surprisingly good. I'd like to try this.
Re: E3 2016: Xbox One S Hardware and Controller Images
I wonder if a 1 TB budget model will come out, but I assume that's what the older ones are for.
Re: E3 2016: Minecraft: Realms Update to Come With Massive Cross-Play Support, Including Xbox Live
I assume Windows Phone is included as well (I plan on upgrading to the Nexus, but a new laptop comes first).

About time. Snapable I assume. I wish you could hold the home button and left on the analong stick to toggle snapped apps. Triple press maybe?

@Souldin Yeah, but for the love of Albion, can they just make Fable 4? At least they're licensing this.
