Re: Poll: Which Box Art Do You Prefer, Xbox Series X Or PS5?

ThePrettySenshi

I voted Xbox but I don't like either of them. The playstation one looks kind of empty. But I guess that might be the giant white bar at the top.

The only thing I don't like about the Xbox one is the giant "Optimized for Series X" sticker. But generally I don't like Xbox cases either because whenever I open them it feels like the disc is on the wrong side even though technically there isn't a wrong side.

Re: Farming RPG Ooblets Launches In Early Access Later This Month

ThePrettySenshi

It was one of my most looked for games for a long time. But the developers got into some controversy when they posted a condescending message on their Epic store exclusivity that angered a lot of their PC backers (they later had to clarify their comments).

Normally I wouldn't care, but they kind of made it worse with more condescending remarks on their discord.

So yeah, I'm still excited to play the game. But it's no longer like a day one purchase. Or even a purchase at all. I'll try it out when it reaches Gamepass. I mean, the game does look like a fun mix of Animal Crossing and Pokemon.

Re: Talking Point: What Has Been Your Favourite Xbox Game So Far In 2020?

ThePrettySenshi

Wandersong. I beat it not too long ago, but some of its emotional moments still linger in my head. Great characters and a story that I really needed for this year.

Also, I think I beat PeaceWalker this year? I'm not sure. The Pandemic has been messing with my sense of time. ( T_T)
But PW just has so much that I love in it. It feels like a Metal Gear game made out of a sense of love instead of a sense of duty.

Re: AT&T Reportedly Looking To Offload Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

ThePrettySenshi

A lot of people keep mentioning MS buying them, but I'm not in agreement at all. MS is still going strong, but the pandemic affected everyone, so I'm sure MS is trying to figure out where they can cut losses. Not to mention that the U.S. isn't in the best of relations with China, where most of their manufacturing comes from. And one of the reasons why AT&T is in the financial problems they are is because of their spending habits trying to buy as much content as they could. So considering they've already bought a ton of studios, the last thing I would want to see is MS following in AT&T's footsteps and ending up with a console generation where the Xbox isn't financially profitable because they bought one studio or one IP more than they should have.

Tbh, I think Xbox will be better positioned to compete with Sony if they make all new IP and take advantage of the original content they already have. They already own several video game content that can stand next to some of the best that Sony and Nintendo own if they only gave them to good developers to make new games out of.

Re: Roundup: Every Xbox Series X Game Revealed During Sony's PS5 Event

ThePrettySenshi

@Tharsman yeah, Goodbye Volcano isn't going to be like a system seller or anything. But I like having games to kind of offset the bombastic nature of most AAA games. It's like movies. It gets kind of exhausting when all there is are Marvel or Michael Bay films.

If anyone ever gets the chance, Wandersong is a 2D game with a story filled with heart and great characters.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Do You Feel After Sony's PS5 Event?

ThePrettySenshi

I thought the presentation was decent. There were a few games that got me excited to play but I'll probably never get to. Like Returnal, and I'm worried Project Aitha will stay console exclusive.

What really tempered my expectation though was Sony's habit of announcing games way too early. So, even though the same may be true with the Xbox presentation last month, there was nothing here that made me super excited about getting a console at launch.
I'm a huge Hellblade fan though, so I'm going to give Xbox the better of the two presentations. Hellblade II's creepy pagan chanting gave me chills for days and I think I've watched the trailer about 20 times. lol.

Re: Guide: All Xbox Series X Games

ThePrettySenshi

There's a ton of games but probably my number one is Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. It's a console seller to me.
currently the Xbox is doing just enough things right that I'm very happy with sticking with MS for next gen.

Re: Roundup: Every Xbox Series X Game Revealed During Yesterday's PS5 Event

ThePrettySenshi

lol. I'm probably the only one on this site that is looking forward to Goodbye Volcano.

I think the only game I'm kind of jealous of is Demon's Souls. And Project Aitha, if it never comes to Xbox. But everything I'm really really interested are eventually coming over so I'm happy with the presentation.

@KelticDevil That's true. Sony even published the game in almost every territory except for the U.S. because Sony U.S.A. didn't think it would sell so Atlus stepped in. Unfortunately just because Atlus published it it doesn't change that Sony owns it. So it's sad knowing we'll never play it.

Re: Poll: Which Design Do You Prefer? Xbox Series X Or PS5?

ThePrettySenshi

I like how the PS5 looks, but I like Xbox SeX better.
Tbh, they're both kind of bold in their design. Sony's pretty brave to make something so unconventional. But it also says a lot about Microsoft's confidence that they're willing to make Xbox a literal box (albeit a pretty sleek looking one) and have the console's performance speak for itself.

Re: Sony Finally Reveals PS5 Design, Two Versions Announced

ThePrettySenshi

huh... well, what makes that interesting is that the disc version and the disc-less version both pretty much have the same specs... right? But isn't Lockhart supposed to be weaker than Series X?

I think the big battle we're not seeing right now is what the studios will price all their consoles.

P.S. funny enough, I like the console, but not the controllers. lol

Re: Live: PS5 Games Reveal, Xbox Series X Titles Likely To Feature

ThePrettySenshi

that was pretty fun tbh. Pragmata is a timed exclusive, and Resident Evil 8 looks really really freaky. So I think it was worth watching even for a diehard Xbox fan.

I think I was more excited with the Xbox reveal because Sony has a bit of a reputation to announce games way too early. But I think it's a good time to be a gamer for everyone, Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo fans.

Re: Poll: Which Has Been Your Favourite Xbox Console To Date?

ThePrettySenshi

I've only ever owned the Xbox One so I guess it wins by default. But considering how it can play One, tons of 360 and even a few original xbox games, I don't feel like I'm missing out.

The controller feels nice, I love how quiet it runs when I'm watching movies or netflix, and I think the Xbox team has shown that they really care about their fans. It's the console I play on the most.

Re: Sony Has Delayed This Week's PS5 Games Event

ThePrettySenshi

Companies don't really care. This has been happening for a long time and they've never said anything before.
I mean, I guess I can't be too upset with them. After all, many gaming companies have been trying to be more inclusive the last couple of years. But really, at the end of the day, companies aren't people. They're not capable of empathy, and only take a stand in solidarity in passing.

Re: Microsoft Hints At Potential For More Xbox And Xbox 360 Backwards Compatible Games

ThePrettySenshi

I never doubted that they stopped. I honestly believe it's because they were working hard to ensure compatibility with Xbox SeX (sorry if they mention this in the original article).

But I'm still hoping for Silent Hill 2 (original XBox version), Nier (Xbox 360) and Resonance of Fate and Bullet Witch (I heard this one isn't that great, but I'm curious).

@BlueOcean
and heck yeah!! Fatal Frame!!

Re: Xbox Head Phil Spencer: We Were In A Tough Spot Six Years Ago

ThePrettySenshi

"'are we doing the wrong thing?' with tears in their eyes"

if you're the kind of leader that can take people who are struggling to this degree, and turn the company around to where they believe in a vision and a future, then that says a lot about you, and a lot about the employees who believed in their work to care that much.

I'm so happy to support Xbox for how they have grown beyond the early years of the XB1 and where they are going in the future.

Re: Poll: Do You Think The Xbox Lockhart Will Be Revealed In June?

ThePrettySenshi

I hope so. Even though it's less powerful I would have probably considered buying it. It's supposed to be smaller, which means it's a cuter console, and I like the name Lockhart (Tifa!). The only thing that makes it a deal breaker is it's missing a disc drive. I don't care about it being weaker, but so many of my games are physical, I don't want to lose them.
That being said, I can't wait to see it.

Re: Talking Point: If You Could Download Any Xbox Game For Free, What Would You Pick?

ThePrettySenshi

Star Wars Battlefront II.
I really really got into Star Wars five years ago, absolutely loved Force Awakens and Rogue One, but over the years the way people have acted and the things I've found out about have really killed the series for me.
I still want to play as Rey, or Jyn, but I don't want to spend any money on the game.

p.s. Mandalorian was great because Baby Yoda is amazing, and I will still buy Fallen Order once it drops to under 20.

Re: Chorus Dev: It's Easier To Develop For Xbox Series X Than Any Other Console

ThePrettySenshi

hmmmm.... I don't know. There's so many backroom politics in the video game industry I'm pretty skeptical about every pre-launch comment.
Unless he specifically mentions PS5, I'm going to assume he's talking about what it is like to move from XBone to XBseX and is just being coy with his choice of words.

*edit: After reading the actual interview, one of the questions asks him to compare development between XBseX and PS5 and he says no comment.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Xbox Classics Would You Remaster? (#4)

ThePrettySenshi

hey! an actual game I've played! I'm going to have to vote for Kotor just because it's the only game I've played out of all these remaster polls.

But tbh, I wouldn't mind seeing Mech Assault brought back. But maybe with more Japanese designs. I've always thought Anime mechs looks much cooler and sexier than the blocky mechs that we tend to make.
