@Arcticpandapopz I hadn’t seen any on sale…but equally hadn’t had chance to look - it didn’t appear that the NFS Undercover dlc was on sale but that doesn’t mean other games’ dlc isn’t

@Arcticpandapopz it looks like it is however the list has changed - NFS Undercover for one has been delisted altogether from the store (the dlc is all that remains)

Overall I’d say a C - the hardware is fine and gamepass remains terrific value but there’s too few games that have felt like it needed this generation in order for them to be good (continued support for last gen by both MS and Sony (despite their initial claims) while understandable has been a detriment for moving things along in my opinion )

@Alduin I'm also in the UK with a Series X and was able to install DOA Ultimate, DOA 3 and 4, Resi Raccoon City and Nier all from disc on Monday night so it's very odd that you're still not able to

I'm still having trouble with it now but it seems to be intermittent - I just managed to activate/redeem the punchcard for the daily achievement but then it crashed as I went to complete the last of the weekly - hopefully I can restart the console and get that last one to work as I'm on a 42 week streak

@Xenomorph_79 they made a point of saying the Discovery Tour would be free so I'm expecting a second season pass for these further expansions - it has to be said that the last few AC games have had good value for money season passes so hopefully that will continue

After the remarkable "meh" from Ubisoft last night I'm really reigning in my expectations for tonight - hopefully I then come out of it excited

I played the demo of 3 before it was released and enjoyed that enough to go out and get 1 & 2
When I got a PS3 a few years later one of my first purchases there was the trilogy collection so that I could replay them again

I'm on Mass Effect in between blitzing a few quick gamerscore games to complete the quest

@Fiendish-Beaver it doesn't - I've got it preordered and just tried the punchcard and it won't tick the second box. I may see if I ca n cancel my order and then repurchase it

@Dezzy I use it and have noticed the £5 credit usually appears in my MS account on the 2nd/3rd but the 5500 points are deducted from my total on the 1st. I've never received a notification about it happening but it has always happened.

My main question (which may have been swallowed by my imaginings) was whether MS would own Atlus if they bought SEGA or are Atlus their own corporate entity that works in partnership with SEGA?

Given the constant rumours and speculation about MS buying SEGA wouldn't that also give them Atlus and therefore Persona as well? Can you imagine if Persona suddenly became an Xbox exclusive franchise!?!? That might move the needle in Japan!

I wasnt overly impressed by what I played in the demo (which admittedly wansnt all of it so it may get better) but I'll definitely give it a proper go in GamePass

Not necessarily but equally unless they state categorically that "at no point will any version of this game ever be released on any non Xbox console" then there will be some people that will assume it will eventually get released on PS anyway.
I dont personally see any of their IP's as being a dramatic needle shifting property that MS would suddenly win the console war if the only way to play these games would be on Xbox but it would hopefully quiet some of the more vocal PS fanboys that constantly resort to XboX Haz nO eXcluSIveZ
However they're going to need to recoup that $7.5bil plus the ever increasing costs of game development and I dont see that happening by limiting the user base.

Long story short (too late!) - I can see both sides of the argument and dont have a clue!

@SalmonTag For me the smart thing to do would be to announce all new games as Xbox console exclusive and see if it has an impact on console sales/gamepass subs at the point of release - if it does then it remains exclusive, if it doesn't then they can port an ultimate/gold/goty edition to PlayStation a year later and say that it was a timed exclusive (like Rise of the Tomb Raider)

For me it mainly comes down to what games are on it and how good is the emulation - after that then it's simply a matter of cost to see if its worth the money.

I started the game when it joined GamePass last year to see if I liked it (seemed good) but didn't get too far as I wanted to wait for the next gen version to arrive so I'm not too bothered about starting again - I'm just wondering if they will add the Ultimate edition into GamePass given that they're giving it away with PS+ as I don't want to buy it if I don't need to.

I think my main question is - will this coincide with the next gen upgrade or will that be available sooner?

I don't know anything about it in terms of quality but if you're in the UK (or anywhere really) you can get One Leaves by changing the region in the store on a desktop/mobile (& most likely also by changing your console region too)

I bought my Series S with the reward points I'd accrued last year

@Nightcrawler71 The version on GP at the moment is just the base game that does not come with this Next Gen upgrade but if you use this version as essentially a demo to see if you like it then the Ultimate Edition (which does have the upgrade and the DLC) is in the Countdown Sale.
Given that they've bundled the next gen version with this Ultimate Edition rather than giving it away free to all owners of the game I think its very very unlikely they'll change the version in GP to this version.

Well yes, with the amount of studios now under the MS umbrella (and I'm not counting the Bethesda studios) I'd like to think there are more than 2 games being published in a calendar year.

Given that I have to be in work on Friday morning and it's a struggle getting up as it is then no, I'll not be watching it live - I'll just read about everything on my break in work on Friday

If these were already previously available but locked behind a paywall or similar device then there's not likely to be any more skins released since these aren't new - they just removed whatever barrier prevented people from using them already

Got a couple of games when the sale launched and I've downloaded Control and FIFA Next Gen (free trial with EA Play) today to play when I get home from work to see if they're worth parting with my cash over and I'm still undecided on XCOM 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint but beyond that I dont think I'll be getting anything else

I've picked up a few but am undecided on a few more - with the rumours of Control being added to GP I dont know whether to hold off on getting the Ultimate Edition that's in the sale.
XCOM 2 - I'm enjoying Gears Tactics and while I like strategy games in general I'm also often not very good at them so I dont know whether I'll actually get much out of it (which is why Sudden Strike Complete Edition also sits in my "maybe" pile)
With Pro Evo 2020 leaving GP in a few weeks I'm unsure if the 2021 update will replace it in which case should I buy that in the sale (or the Juve edition for a few extra £££) or wait and see??
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is another that I'm tempted by but is again one that I want to like it more than I'm actually likely to be good at it - I'll be playing it solo as I've got no mates (lol!) so I've waited till now since they only recently added AI teammates but again I wonder if it'll be worth it to me.
Decisions, decisions, decisions....

I've got the WD_Black 5TB specifically for use with my Series S (& a 5TB and 8TB with my One which is still going to get used for disc based games I own (I had really rubbish download speeds until recently so preferred to keep everything downloaded)) - when the price of the Seagate Expansion drops I'll get one since I can then carry it over to the Series X when I inevitably upgrade to that in the future

@orionreplay I saw something earlier that said Quick Resume has been disabled for certain titles as they weren't working properly - and apparently this was mainly optimised titles (which would include Forza)

UPS delivered it at 4:58pm (so glad I didnt book the day off work!) and by the time I'd got home and had some tea it was pushing 7pm. Had problems logging into XBL with my existing One (in order to complete the daily Rewards Quests - they paid for my Series S so I'm not quitting them now lol!) but thankfully had no issues when setting up the new console. Downloaded Valhalla, Forza and Gears before calling it a night - I'll be carrying on downloading the games I want to play on Series S when I get home tonight (Tactics, Ori and SW Fallen Order are queued) and hopefully get some games started while I download others onto my external drive (for quick access storage)

"work with the mysterious Exo Stranger" really?!? That's the best name they could come up with - it also seems a little redundant to call him/her mysterious when the name is literally Stranger!

@Fenbops I've been staring at the UPS tracking screen for a while and then noticed it said "sign up for UPS My Choice for a delivery window" So I did. It still just says "by the end of the day". Waste of bloody time

Out for delivery with UPS "by the end of the day" - not too much of a problem since I'm working and then have to go shopping. I suspect it'll be close to the weekend when I'm fully set up and actually playing on it

It was likely going to be Valhalla but since reading a few reviews that mentions bugs/glitches I may wait until it's patched (hopefully the inevitable Day One patch will fix most if not all) so it'll either be Gears 5 (not finished the campaign and decided to wait till I get the new console) or Tactics

It does look really good and I'm pleased to see it since I've got a Series S due to arrive tomorrow (I plan to upgrade to Series X a little down the line when the price drops/my funds are more bountiful) and have had a few doubts the last few days over whether I've made the right decision since there have been a few not-so-much-negative-but-pessimistic reviews over the weekend. It still doesn't make me want to play Legion though - I've tried both previous Watch Dogs games and I just cant get into them for some reason.

Hmmm upon reading the VGC review I may wait a little to see if the day one patch fixes some of the bugs:

(well actually it'll probably end up being the weekend before I start since I'm working all week and want to get everything set up and all the games I plan on playing on Series S downloaded and installed/copied across to an external drive first...but then I'll be pillaging!!!)

@Porridge2215 I think you may be thinking of GamePass "Platinum" that Phil Spencer mentioned in an interview but that was to include hardware (new console/streaming stick) as well as everything included in GP Ultimate. (Entirely theoretical at this point as it was just his personal speculation of where GP might go next)

@BionicDodo or both? Get an existing studio and IP(s) to help grow the Xbox brand in Japan while a new studio is working on a new IP
