So happy that this has finally been confirmed - while it would have been nice to get an official release date I can fully understand and support not doing so given how many games have had their release dates delayed this year. Knowing that it's actually happening and that they're working on optimising it for next gen is enough to put a smile on my face today. Happy N7 day everyone! π
Disappointing as I was quite looking forward to this but I'd rather wait till the game is ready if it helps the developers avoid a crunch - especially in the current covid situation. I don't want anyone to get sick just so I can play a game "on time"
Outstanding news - I very nearly caved last week in the sale and had looked at the price on CD Keys the other night - so glad I didn't impulse buy it π
Paid for mine using my MS account having cashed in my reward points and that accumulated credit was taken out of my account last week but my pre-order still just shows "delivery expected 10 November"
I personally think this was the best game of this type (episodic, story driven) since the first Life Is Strange. At three episodes it was just the right length and didnt overstay its welcome. I'd definitely like to see more MS exclusive games from Dontnod - buy them up MS!
Given the Series X has about 200GB knocked off its 1TB the Series S is actually a bit more that I expected (I thought 300-325) if this is indeed accurate. I plan of having a 5TB external drive connected for storage and will keep the games I'm actively playing (Valhalla, Gears 5, Gears Tactics and likely Forza Horizon 4) installed on the internal and will swap other titles in and out as required if I get a hankering to play something different or want to give one of those a break for a while if space becomes an issue. I have decent download speeds at home now so it's less a concern to have everything installed all at the same time (I'd got over 10TB on external drives for the One before getting new broadband - went from avg.7mb/s to avg.170 so it makes quite a difference!) If/when the expansion card comes down in price I'll get one of them as I can then use that in the Series X when I upgrade to that (hoping at some point next year)
I suppose I should finish Tracks. Haven't started Darksiders III but will probably just pick it up in the next sale....to inevitably add it to the ever growing backlog. The other two I'm not particularly bothered about.
And this has me now thinking if it doesn't get released Down Under - is the Series S/X going to be region free like the Xbox One has been where you can just change your region and take advantage of GwG regional variations?
I'll try the demo beforehand and if I like it download the whole game when it launches in GamePass next month since progress carries over. My question though is will achievements automatically unlock upon playing the full game since I'd assume at least some of them will have their requirements met in around 10 hours of gameplay? (Heck that's longer than some complete games these days!)
I've preordered my Series S from Microsoft themselves - cashed in my Rewards points so I'm not actually spending a penny! Which is rather handy at the moment.
@KelticDevil well sure but I was more referencing the Stark/Loki conversation from the first Avengers where Hulk then proceeds to smash the "puny God" and everything else for that matter π
I don't know that I would buy this (unless it got massively high review scores) but having seen the video and the fact that it'll now launch in gamepass means I'll definitely be checking it out
I think I only have 2 questions left - what's the useable memory on Series S? My understanding of backwards compatibility is that all games will run better on the new consoles (but some Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4 etc will receive updates to "optimise" them for the new generation) and that back compat games will be able to run from an external drive but will those games that are not "optimised" still run with the auto hdr and faster load times or do they need to be on the internal ssd for those "standard" benefits to apply?

Two of the screenshots look to be a third person view - can the camera be changed??

@Senua well sure but I rate The Rock above him - he can be the Tony Starkbizzle in my analogy π
Re: Random: Can You Smell What The Rock Is Cooking? It Could Be An Xbox Series X
Could be the console equivalent of "I have an army / we have a Hulk"
Sony has Travis Scott (whoever that actually is - forgive my ignorance but some people acted like that was a big deal) so Xbox has The Rock π
