The post-launch content for Assassin's Creed Valhalla has already been undeniably strong. We've had a ton of free content, as well as a fully fledged expansion in the form of Wrath of the Druids. As Ubisoft deviates from the traditional one-per-year strategy for the series, there are some huge plans coming for the game which will carry it into next year.
It all kicks off with the release of the game's second expansion - The Siege of Paris. It's scheduled to arrive a lot sooner than we anticipated with a launch window of this summer. The return of Black Box missions will be making an appearance here, which were seen in previous games and allowed players multiple paths to take down their target. Its long been a fan-favourite inclusion in the series, so it's great to see it return.
But the extra content won't be stopping there. 2022 will see the launch of more expansions, according to Ubisoft. These seem to be a bit more spiritual in nature and relate more directly to protagonist Eivor. How many expansions and whether another Season Pass will need to be purchased remains to be seen, but fans can expect plenty of additional content regardless.
If all that wasn't enough, Discovery Tour from the past few entries is making a return later this year. You'll be able to learn more about the world, collect some form of rewards, and take an educational trip into the past.
There's a bright future on the horizon for Assassin's Creed fans, and the extra time put into Valhalla means the next entry will be given more time to cook. We're eager to see where the next adventure takes us, but as for now, we'll happily dive into more quests in merry old England.
Happy to see Assassin's Creed Valhalla continue with more content? Let us know in the comments below.

I think this is pretty good news. I'm discovering the game right now (althought I paused it to play PSO2 NG) and it is very, very good. It made me fall in love with the AC series again.
So, more Viking time, and more time to prepare the next entry, this is all good.
Unpopular opinion I know, but I kinda wish they were moving onto the next one - I keep bouncing off Valhalla every time I play it.
I loved Syndicate and Odyssey, and enjoyed Origins, but I just don't find this it as fun.
It's got the grittiness of Last Kingdom which I love but I'm playing as the "bad" guys raiding civilian targets etc. which I think breaks the immersion for me - and so I notice the grind in a way I've not in the others as I was immersed in the story and history...
Great news to me.
I love the more fantasy stuff like the Atlantis expansion for AC Odyssey, so if we get more realms to explore or even some British folklore tales, then I'll be there day one.
@Widey85 I’m kind of with you here. I actually enjoyed Valhalla a lot. The return of one-hit stealth kills really helps reduce a lot of the grind and the mythological bits were fun but there was something a little ‘off’ about pillaging innocent villages and monasteries just for the heck of it. I had no qualms robbing the Royal Navy in black flag but this wasn’t like that.
I find the whole RPG aspects of the last 3 leave me cold. I liked how Black Flag and Rogue dealt with it: use money for your ship and resources for yourself.
Despite the glitches I still think 3 my favourite because in that there was no way to increase your health and if you left an area to regenerate the enemies all reset. This forced the player to actually improve at the game and take stealth seriously rather than just countering your way through every fight towards the end like Ezio or unrealistically wielding 2 50kg swords at once.
@RadioHedgeFund
Agree on the one hit assassinations - I really did miss them from the later ones as it hindered my preferred stealthy approach.
Stealth or even the silliness of sitting off shore in a boat using guided arrows to take out a target are the fun part of AC - battles can be fun but not really the work of an "assassin".
The RPG elements I don't mind too much but definitely prefer it to be reasonably simple and just a way to have the feel of progression - too many options and I just switch off and don't bother with it until I'm flattened by an enemy and have to reconsider...
I've only played this on PC so far, but had to uninstall it because of the frequent crashes (yes, yawn my rig can handle it).
Is it any better on Xbox? Does it crash every 15-30 mins? Happy to buy it again if it is OK. I love the setting/story.
@Xenomorph_79 they made a point of saying the Discovery Tour would be free so I'm expecting a second season pass for these further expansions - it has to be said that the last few AC games have had good value for money season passes so hopefully that will continue
@Isca
I've not had any crashes on XSX, but my longest uninterrupted session has only probably been like 3 or 4 hours - I'd recommend saving regularly as I did hit the corrupted save bug once or twice though.
Like most Ubi games due to the crappy online saving etc they can do I've not found it to work well / at all sometimes with Quick Resume but that might also be due to how many updates it seems to get...
Thanks, Widey85
I'm convinced that the crashes are save game related. I found that I could reduce crashes on PC somehwat by clearing out the save games at the start of each session, but in the end the sheer amount of CTDs made me give up. I'll maybe try again in a couple of years, when it is sorted out (as was the case with AC Unity).
If it isn't crashing on XSX, I might pick up the ultimate edition, once it is under £15
