Should I get the series X at launch and buy a year or 2 of gamepass on black friday / cyber Monday.

That's an insane price, but it's def going to be needed. As 1TB doesn't store a lot of games. I have nearly an 8TB external full of games and an additional 10TB one to add when the time comes. It's annoying you're going to have to constantly be moving games about. Should bundle one of these with the new black ops game.

Roll on pre-order time! Great price, will be interesting to see what Sony does now. Though really hope the rumored price of the 1TB expansion isn't true! Need that extra space for the games.

I'll be getting the series X. What games do "high end" PC gamers even play now? Still CSGO and PUBG? I haven't turned mine on in a year, so it's not high end anymore. 😂 I got sick of how many cheaters there were.

I'm not sure what all the hype is for? Don't know what the point of the game is, what ur doing in the game. Are you just going to draw circles round trees and save animals? Nothing that's been shown makes me think that it's a must play game. Was 12 minutes of waffle. Positives: it looks nice for a cel shaded game and will be on gamepass.

I do like the look of both consoles. Series S is more of an evolution than a completely new design. I think the series X looks better overall.

I like the design of it, it looks closer to the one S/X design that the series X. I'll still getting the series X. Could see a lot of people being tempted to get this and a PS5. Think with this price point the series X will def be under £500. I'd guess £450 for the series X.

Samsung note 20, the series S and game pass all for one monthly price. Was also talk of Samsung TVs going down the pay monthly and upgrade after a couple of years route. Could end up being a massive monthly bundle. 😂

@NotoriousWhiz Not my first rodeo, have had it happen during previous generations. The deposit is to guarantee the product will be available for you. The money is taken off the total price of your order when the time comes to pay the balance for the product/s. Like going back I remember having to pay £5 deposit for each PS4 game along with a £20 deposit for the console. A game or two I pre-ordered with a deposit hadn't made the day 1 release. The deposit money from the games could be refunded or taken off the console. They're not going to charge you more than what the product actually is going on sale for. If they try to then report them and cancel the order. Another example is if you buy a blu-ray or dvd from amazon, they charge you the full price and then if the price drops before release they refund you the difference.

@playstation_king If Sony or Microsoft change the price and stores and retailers have started taking pre-order deposits they will just change the price at the final sale.

I voted November. At this rate both consoles will go on sale without a price. You'll have to add it to your basket and then it'll show you the price for 2 seconds before dissappearing again.

Microsoft will soon want PS now to start performing better. Sony are paying to use Microsofts cloud. The more VMs, storage and network bandwidth Sony need the more they have to pay Microsoft. 😂

I'm not sure if I'm ready to stop playing modern warfare yet.

@Krzzystuff Do you really think Phil is actually man managing every person and thing that is happening in every studio they have? They have what? 16 studios and 343 industries alone has 450 staff. But damit Phil why are you not in there on site watching everything that's being done by everyone! There are levels of management in a corporation this size for a reason....... It's not his job to design, create, code and build everything. That's on the studio and their management. They would have had a deadline to get the trailer sent in by, so Phil and his management team could review and sign off. Maybe the deadline was missed and it was either show this or nothing. He might have been better not showing it and starting the show off with an announcement saying it was being delayed. Due to the amount of hype that had been built up he probably thought showing something was better than nothing. Blame him for showing the trailer, but blame the studio for the state of the game/trailer.

@sandman89 I couldn't get into battlefield one. Really wanted to as I had heard good things about it. I want to play through all the halo games too. There's most likely loads I've forgotten since I last played them.

I went for modern warfare, though I did really enjoy blops 4. Never got into WWII as much as the others. Blops 2 multiplayer was good too. Can't say I remember too much of the blops single player campaigns. Modern warfare was the best series.

@Tharsman yes smart delivery should only give you access to the files that you need for the Xbox you are playing on. That's why we were saying the bug is it's given everyone the series X upgrade data by mistake. So hopefully they're able to give people the opportunity to delete the excessive data they don't need. As they have actively promoted deleting data for the game modes you don't use to free up space. If it's nothing to do with the series X upgrade then it's a crazy useless patch as I was playing after it installed and noticed no difference.

@Tharsman they have said that they will be updating MW for series X. Hoping it'll be a free update, but knowing them they'll probably charge for it. Though this would be a bit early to release the patch for it. Though could be as you say getting ready for it. As the last patch they released did apparently do some house keeping. I guess it would be good if they give people the option to remove it if they're not planning on getting the series X. I can't wait for November though.

@KelticDevil I know, it's insane! They said they going to be giving people a free upgrade for the series X. I think most ppl will turn it down. It'll take up the whole of the extra drive you can add to the system. 😂

@Vincent294 I think I can remember seeing a slide from a talk or something that says the xbox one has 3 layers to it.

I belive that is why they've found backwards compatability easier than Sony. They just have a 360 VM running on the hypervisor. More recently the OG xbox OS. The problem is licencing to get the games to be playable.

What the heck is going on in the world! Everything is wrong. Buy a game to play a demo? They can take a long walk off a short pier. I'll wait for this to join gamepass rather than giving them money and encouraging this practice.

I'm def getting it day 1. Can set myself a challenge to play through all the other halo games before the new one comes out. 😁 I was also going to start playing Gears 5, but when they said it was being upgraded I decided to leave it. I won't be rushing to get a PS5 for a good while. Still a good lot of games to play through on the PS4 first. They haven't really spoken about their backwards compatibility. Got to say I hate this dragged out approach to this new generation. It's shocking, I hate it so much.

I hope the last month of games with gold will go out with some great games. This months aren't great tbf.

Couldn't watch it live, but checked the live blog. Now watched this and I'm read through all the news articles. Been great coverage by everyone at PureXbox!

It's looking good, can't wait to play it. Will be interesting to see what they've done with the career mode. Until then will just keep playing the older games and horizon 4 getting an update will be great to see.

I have usually gotten both consoles on day one. Thought after the poor PS5 showcase I was leaning towards the Xbox on day 1. Watching this just confirms that it's Xbox day 1 for me. So many games coming to gamepass, plus all the backwards compatability and free improvements just make it a more sensible choice. I'll maybe pickup a PS5 when a nice looking design comes out.

Think the best way for them to go that would put the most pressure on Sony:

Free online multiplayer for all
Gamepass standard that includes xcloud
Gamepass ultimate with the 4 free games a month and maybe a new feature that let's you keep a game for an extra month after its going to leave.

They def need to let people that have the games with gold keep them.

@Medic_Alert yea, I didn't get this years, just waited on it going to gamepass. Going to do the same this year. Though I can't see 2022 going onto gamepass as quick.

Leave it a month and it'll be £10. The price of the last couple of pes games have dropped loads after a couple of months, unlike FIFA.

@SuperJoon totally agree with you. On the digital side they could do a base upgrade for so much that just updates with the new years kits and stats. Or a "full" upgrade that implements all the improvements they've made as well. The full upgrade version would be their retail version. Every year you could pick if you just want the stats update or the gameplay + stats update. So you could skip gameplay updates if they haven't moved the game on far enough to warrant the price.

Think it would be a stupid move on Microsofts part. They've been so pro gamer and pro consumer so far and this goes against that.

I'm also not sure why so many people are for it? 4 games a month to keep and play when you want? Why would you want to give that up?

The only reason I have gamepass ultimate is that they did the convert your gold to ultimate for £1 offer. So got 3 years for £1, so will need to decide if I'm going to keep it going after that.

It is great and I've played some really good games I wouldn't have if I didn't have it. But what annoys me about gamepass is you have no say or control when the games are leaving. There's been quite a few games I've downloaded but never got round to playing before they left.

If they're getting rid of the games with gold, then they'll really need to up the gamepass service to force people to move to it.

As the games with gold started as a perk because you already had to pay to play online. Try telling people that only have gold because they want the online multiplayer that they now have to pay extra just because.

I guess it could be a way to get oculus onto the Xbox. But glad Facebook is not going to be forced on you.

Loved Saints Row 2, will have to play through it again.

I don't like this, if this is the way Microsoft is going I might hold off on the series X.
