Re: Hands On: Knockout City - Has The Potential To Be The Next 'Big' Thing

LocalPenguin

Hi praise indeed and certainly not isolated. I've seen a load of similar articles and reviews 😊
I just don't see it though? My friends and I spent a couple hours playing and came away thoroughly unimpressed. Seems like something we'd really enjoy too!
Sorry to sound like a negative nelly. Anyone else out there not feeling it? πŸ€”

Re: The Time Has Arrived, Resident Evil Village Is Out Now On Xbox

LocalPenguin

I've had a pre order down for ages but just recently cancelled it.
I'm super excited for the game, I'm a massive Resi fan, but the sheer volume of awesome Gamepass games right now means I already have so much to play! I have my sensible hat on it seems.
It makes me wonder how often this happens to other Xbox gamers? πŸ€”

Re: Soapbox: Even The Terrible Games Have Some Good In Them

LocalPenguin

On a serious note. I was a MASSIVE fan of the original Lost Planet. Huge.
But when the sequel got panned I decided to skip it. Big mistake.
My friend and I decided to play through it at the very end of the 360's life and boy oh boy did we have fun! With some friends that game is incredibly good

Re: Soapbox: 15 Years Later, I'm Still Not Over The Poison Apple That Ruined My Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Save

LocalPenguin

I have a save horror story that still haunts me to this day.
30+ hours into Tomb Raider The Last Revelation on the Dreamcast.
I was right near the end and just missed a jump. As I was falling to my death, I hit pause seconds before impact and hit Load.
By this point I was very quick at the reload process. Too quick.
Navigating the menu like a speedrunner I hit Save instead of Load.
The horror.
CRUNCH
I loaded my game.
CRUNCH
Again and again I reloaded, hoping for a different outcome. There wasn't one.
All my progress lost and to this day I can't face going back to finally finish it haha

Re: Four More Games Are Available With Xbox Game Pass Today (March 18)

LocalPenguin

@everynowandben How long have you got?? Haha
The gameplay is smooth, tight and flawless.
The setting is beautiful. The story is fantastic. The soundtrack is stunning. It makes you really think. Chasing all the endings is an incredibly enjoyable challenge. Some wonderful humour too!
I absolutely love it. I don't drop the word 'masterpiece' about often but I feel it's utterly warranted here

Re: Site News: Pure Xbox Officially Relaunched One Year Ago Today!

LocalPenguin

Really? REALLY?? A year?! Where on Earth did that go?!
That seems insane haha
It's been amazing, what a year for a comeback.
Like many on here, I check the site at least half a dozen times a day. It's the only site I use for my Xbox news.
Thanks for all the hard work Fraser and the rest of the Pure Xbox family this year, here's to many, many more!
